Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Cadence of Hyrule taps directly into what I personally need in a game to find it compelling.

It’s soooooooo good.

Once it clicks, it’s brilliant.

Your always just a slight mistake from death though, so it’s never fully under control.

The music is next level.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Yeah, you’re not wrong.

Word on the street is that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons delay is so that Nintendo can protect their staff from crunch and burnout.

Excellent if true.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Out of all of the obvious stuff that’s always mentioned I did expect at least one Wii U port, either 3D World, Pikmin 3 or Wonderful 101.

But hey, there’s plenty of time left this year for any of those. You know what Nintendo are like with Directs.

Cadence of Hyrule is out today I think.

I plan on settling down with that tonight and giving it a go 👍🏽.

If you reverse and speed up the music in the trailer it’s the Goron mines from Twilight Princess!
Man - no way.

That’s rad.

The purple smoke stuff is the same from TP too isn’t it ??

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Having had a few hours longer to digest yesterdays evenings Nintendo Direct, I’m still coming away rather buoyant about the next 6-9 months. The only bad bit of news about yesterdays announcements I feel is that Animal Crossing delayed until March 2020 but at least we now have rather a lot of inform...

Re: Console gaming set-up (TV etc)

The two current big boy consoles use a specific type of HDR, called HDR10. So just make sure the panel you are buying supports that - most do. Generally buying any sort of panel now, in 2019 will garnish good results. Most input lag has been reduced to a un-noticeable level when put into game mode a...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Yep.

Happy with that overall.

Watched it twice now.

Also nice to hear that they are patching in the Friendly Co-Op to Mario Maker 2.

Z:LA literally looked incredible I thought.

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

Yep, the tech-savvy among us may even still get fucked by this stuff - what about the older generations or vulnerable people? They're the ones I worry about. I've had many talks with people on companies taking advantage of them. Mate, I get stung almost everytime I take advantage of one of those XB...

Was expecting/hoping to find out what Halo Infinite is and maybe see some gameplay.

I wonder if you'll have to have the new console to play it.
Turns out that Halo Infinite will launch on Scarlet and the Xbox One.

Which is good news.

Re: Retro gaming

Picked up a few bits this morning. I went to my mates shop and traded in a few spares and swaps. Came out with this lot. Just a few interesting things I wanted. Eliet Beat Agents I've not played and am looking forward to playing it. These are my first Neo Geo Pocket and Atari Jaguar carts, so that's...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

We didn’t even know about Mario Maker 2 until February, and that’s out at the end of this month. This is very true. Although I feel Mario Maker has a slightly different impact and approach leading up to a release than say a new Animal Crossing game. I get the sense that there's more broad questions...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

No name, no gameplay Yoshi was the same. Nintendo tend to tell you something is happening and then leave it be until its within a few months of release. Luigis mansion 3 seems the same. I don’t know, I’d love to be proven wrong but I get the sense that there’s nothing known about Animal Crossing ot...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

I’m starting to consider that Animal Crossing will not release this year. With Nintendo announcing what games will be playable in the floor and while I agree that Animal Crossing isn't really a game that will ‘play well’ on the floor - I can totally see there being a large trailer as part of their D...

Re: Splatoon 2

I did mate yes, although, so much stuff has changed, new weapons etc... I felt a little underprepared jumping straight back in as I did.

Still keen on getting a group together and flinging some painting about though.
