Re: Retro gaming

I'm gonna bring it home, fairly sure we have a little TV with old RF input, which is how it connects isn't it? I didn't look too closely last night before passing out about half nine  Unfortunately no CRT though. Yeah man, it’ll be a RF connection. You do get some older digital panels though t...

Re: Retro gaming

I wonder if there’s a TV in the house that’ll accept it 🤨.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

It’s been in my list for a long time.

As was Spirit Tracks, that I bought on launch and didn’t like it.

Played it again. Didn’t like it.

Have you played Link Between Worlds ??

(Though for me the platform that’s suffered the most from the March of time is the N64, so few third party games on that console have held up)
Oh, this.

Doom 64 is very good. I think.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I don’t know, or maybe I’m just old. :( I don't think so man, I agree with you. We've all had this discussion before on old games, such as the NES games on the Switch. I do however recognise people criticisms of them and agree that they valid, I just come out on the other side of the fence. It's co...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Huh, that was me just checking I had everything before I put it back together. If its of interest..... Just finished the pot adjustments for the screen, which is hella awkward on a SP due to the dial being under the battery on the SP, meaning adjustments are done via memory and eye. I use Metroid Fu...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

So, this weekend I’m delving into my gapped history and pondering whether to go for Mario Galaxy 2 or Minish Cap. Have you played the first Mario Galaxy? If so, Minish Cap! It's my favourite of the traditional Zelda games (admittedly I've only played 3 or 4 of them). I've played the first yes, but ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I’ve been enjoying Dragon Quest Builders 2 a lot recently but it just keeps going and going. I’m still in the first area you visit after you begin, which is fine, it’s teaching me certain aspects of farming etc.... but I feel it losing me with the same tasks and environments over and over and the co...

Re: Super Mario Maker 2 - **1st Page For Community Level Codes**

First page updated with new levels

Great to see new people coming to the game, its doing really well in the sales chats - which is wonderful to see.

I'm having few weeks off after putting in over 50 hours in during the first week - but I'll be back 8-) .

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Yeah, Zero Mission is stunning. Super Metroid is brilliant but flawed by its stupid frame perfect requirement for Samus’ spin and wall jump - for me anyway. The music, art and story are so incredibly captivating though. Wonderful game. Metroid is well worth a go on the Switch, as Leon says the save ...

Re: Videogame News

I think the WiiU tablet solution was excellent and that Nintendo should have stuck with that. Mate, it was a game changer for me. In my old place when the Wii U was relevant, the way our front room was set up, was that there weren’t really any power points freely available to charge the Gamepad whe...

Re: Videogame News

The only ones who benefit from this are the manufacturer and the others selling this stuff. Exactly. Nintendo sold a replacement, high capacity battery for the Wii U Gamepad. It increased the battery life to silly levels, it was wonderful, I’d considered it almost essential unless you want to keep ...

Probably going to go to the London retro game market again on Sunday, up near Russell Square.

If you see me, say hi :)
Ah, I was going mate - I’m not now.

I’m out on the razzle instead now, up Soho.

You looking for anything particular ??

Re: Videogame News

I don't know about that. I still keep several AA-powered devices in rotation, like my Wiimote, Wavebird, clock, laptop mouse, etc... I use a set of widely available rechargeable eneloop batteries with monstrous energy capacity for everything. I recharge them every few months and never have to worry...

Re: Videogame News

Yeah, you’re not wrong at all dude. Although that certainly won’t be a solution I’d personally be driving for. I fully accept, like I do with my iPhone, that over time battery capacity and health will deteriorate. Also, as time passes by with developers requiring more juice to keep up with the deman...

Re: Videogame News

Yeah battery life is awful. It never used to be. Generally I used to get what I wanted out of a game before the battery started to drain, now it’s a matter of getting more juice before I’m done. I have put probably 2000 into my Switch since launch though. On a slightly related matter, no other game...

Significant battery improvement though - almost double.
Ooffff, that would be nice.

I get maybe two hours out of mine now, three if it’s a less demanding game.
