Re: Cane and Rinse Feedback
Yeah, I don't think a full standard episode of Cane and Rinse would suit a capone-edit. However, those desperate for a Capone and CaneRinse mixup, I did do a little test podcast several years ago for Rain&Mince where myself and my best friend Graham reviewed Frogger. https://podcasts.apple.com/g...

Re: Cane and Rinse Feedback
Yeah the Ctrl+F on that specific page is what I use and it works. Coming at this more from a newcomer perspective, I think a more relatable inviting 'Google-like' search bar would be more engaging.
Also, hope you do skool daze in the future! I have some hot takes to share.

Cane and Rinse Feedback
I'm guessing I'm not the only one, it's kind of inevitable with the format but I don't listen to every episode. I sort of dip in and out, I can go months not listening to anything and then come across an episode about one of the thousands of games that had an impact on me and I'm in. Happens every t...

Re: 622: Elden Ring
Before EldenRing, my only experience was several hours of the DemonSouls Remake on PS5 where I eventually got stuck on a boss. I would go to this area with skeletons that was supposed to the 'the' place to return to and level up. I eventually gave up doing the same bit over and over. I put in over 1...

Re: 627: Stray
Despite releasing in 2022, I was following the development of the game from 2015 after seeing a tweet from one of the developers showing a little clip of Stray. There was no art direction, no hint of the neon Hong Kong urban sprawl that we would come to identify the game with. Back then, it was most...

Re: Our next podcast recording (24.2.24) - 608: Bruce Lee
I cannot believe Cane and Rinse is devoting an entire episode to this, I thought it was this sacred childhood game that only myself and my sister had ever played. I don't know how or why we even had it, it's not like we were Bruce Lee fans. I recall playing this on a 14" Ferguson black and whit...

Re: 538: Resident Evil Village
I love this series but one consistent gripe I have is that almost every game’s peak is often the first act of the game, typically the more traditional settings of mansions and creepy buildings. RE8 is no different. To me, what makes a great RE game is familiarizing yourself with an environment and s...

Re: 546: Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro's Playroom
I have been a VR enthusiast ever since owning a Oculus dev kit since around 2013, up until this game I had played hundreds and hundreds of titles, mostly ranging from experiences to strange experiments to gimmicks to what felt like existing games being forced into VR worlds. I like to think that the...

Re: 532: Hades
The only Supergiant game that instantly hooked me instantly, I loved it but I think I played it wrong. The biggest gripe I had was the god mode being called god mode, perhaps this is just me working within the games industry for so long but to me 'God Mode' suggests cheating, a way to debug the game...

Re: 511: It Takes Two
I feel like this game gets unfairly treated by the community when it comes to narrative and characters. When was the last time we played a platformer centered around divorce? Even if not particularly well handed it’s at least a refreshing take for a platformer. Sure, the game ideas come thick and fa...

Re: 393: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
MGSV was the conclusion of the action stealth system that Kojima introduced back in 1998. MGS4 was the first real attempt at making this often fiddly system appeal to a much wider mainstream audience with mixed results but I felt MGSV was where this now more western influenced system was perfected. ...

Re: Our next podcast recording (11.3.19) - 360: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
When I think of Zelda BOTW I very much recall my lack of excitement in the long buildup to the game's release. On the surface it looked closest to the only Zelda game I couldn't bring myself to finish in a long time, Skyward Sword. Even during the Zelda only Nintendo E3 presentations it just seemed ...

Re: Your questions for Fumito Ueda (Ico, SotC, The Last Guardian)
My question;
During development of both SOTC and TLG there were times when multiplayer appears to have been rumoured but for whatever reason just never worked out. What are the biggest challenges you encounter when designing multiplayer aspects of your games?
