Re: Gaming Telly Discussion (and Diminishing Returns)

Would it enhance the material and provide the best possible viewing experience or would it underline the technological discrepancy in an unpleasant way? In short, this particular TV upscales incredibly well, but it's a little more complicated than that. I think the usual rule is to match output wit...

Re: Gaming Telly Discussion (and Diminishing Returns)

Come on LG, do a 40” OLED please 😎. They're doing a 48" this year, I hear, so maybe that'll tick the boxes. I've been reluctant to just start going on about this but it turned up this afternoon and after tweaking the settings as per rtings...the simplest thing I can say is that it's one of the only...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Very keen to try that out myself but trying to behave myself until FF7R is out. I've been mostly playing Groove Coaster when I've had chance, hammering Onegai Darling on a loop trying to get a Perfect Full Combo as some kind of very focused coping strategy. My best is five 'Good' hits off perfection...

Re: Save The National Videogame Museum

Agreed.

I also really really hope that Arcade Club makes it, as well as Arcains in Liverpool. They've become staples of mine over the last however long they've been around and they seem to be a real labour of love. Heartbreaking to imagine them losing everything they've put in.

Re: Gaming Telly Discussion (and Diminishing Returns)

I don't mean this to be tasteless but I decided under the circumstances to finally get that OLED telly I've wanted for a couple of years now. I've been putting money aside for a proper holiday for our 5th anniversary as we haven't been away in a few years but that's no longer happening obviously. We...

Re: Shmups

It's OK, a total rip-off of Zero Ranger but why on Earth is it clogged with story sections and 'cut scenes' where you fly along with nothing to shoot? Sacrilege. It's also got nothing like the readability of ZR so several times I've died mistaking pickups for bullets.

Mate, I'm really sorry to hear that. Please look after yourself and it sounds like you're doing the sensible thing. Suits will no doubt be very proud of your CRT action, too! Keep in touch.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Swapsies!

Also loving this game. Doesn't really suit my minimalist style though :D Struggling slowly to get the 30 iron nuggets for the shop, feel like I'm missing something. Are they just under rocks or are there somewhere else? You can sometimes get a few if you shoot down a balloon present but 99% will be...

Re: Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Mega Mix

Any thoughts on the Switch-exclusive motion mode with the separated Joy-Cons? I probably wouldn't have an invested interest since I played the earlier games on Vita, but from a new perspective it might offer a bit more. I've honestly not tried it because I only use the Hori Split Pad Pro in handhel...

Re: Let's have a thread about the virus, then. We might as well.

I'm convincing myself I've got symptoms, when statistically it's unlikely I have. I've never been a hypochondriac in my life. I've always been someone who drags themself in to work barely upright and being told to go home all day, for me to reply I'm fine, it's just a bit of a cold or something, bu...

Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Mega Mix

https://i.ibb.co/tHcvqJq/rsz-2maxresdefault.jpg I took a gamble on this hot off the back of the superb Groove Coaster Wai Wai Party!!!! and I'm really enjoying it so far. I've never played a Hatsune Miku game before and always assumed the music would do my head in but Groove Coaster has definitely ...

Re: Groove Coaster Wai Wai Party!!!!

Just a brief heads-up that this is on sale for £37 on the SA eShop. Still not cheap but the best price it's been. I also got a standalone capture card (so I could reup my shmup screeners in 1080p/60fps) and I tested it out on Groove Coaster, really pleased with the results: 1dzJpOo8B7E Although I'm ...

Re: Our next podcast recording (22.3.20) - 411: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

I wish I had more affection for Sekiro but it has left almost no impression a year on and I have no desire to go back to it. While the stealth felt very restricted, and frequently at odds with the gank squads gating off different sections, I found many elements to be spectacular. I really enjoyed th...

Honestly mate, perfect game for laying low. I've barely played AC before but absolutely loving it. I've played...I'll say...ten hours today.

Anyone found a way of getting a shovel yet? I know it's only day 2 but I feel at a loss without a full arsenal of tools
I haven't got one but I bought the Tool Kit for 3k Nook Miles and the shovel is now available for crafting. Need one nugget and some other basic stuff.

Re: Shmups

Dezatopia also now out on Switch. Clippa played a fair bit of that, enjoyed it. Not really clicker with me yet but I'll give it a proper go when I'm a bit more in the mood. Not even turned on Animal Crossing yet, so knackered.
