Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

jvdSXpxNv9g “ Calm Before the Storm ”, by Mikolai Stroinski ( Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales ) Hands down the best game I’ve played this year (at least so far), thanks among many things to its beautifully composed and “on-brand” soundtrack. Pretty much all of this OST is enjoyable but, as usual w...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Speaking of Rayman: Origins’ OST:

Ocean World: Glou Glou”, by Christophe Héral.

I just enjoy the whimsical composition of this particular track. Jazz and cartoony voices, what a mix

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

The magnitude of Night City is borderline scary :o ...I love it!

By the way, they released yesterday the minimun and recommended system requirements for the PC version of the game (for 1080p):

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Hi C&R, long time no see :) I’m currently re-listening to the Dragon Age: Inquisition OST for nostalgia sake, and wanted to suggest the following track from it: bwxok3P3TBQ “Orlais Theme” , by Trevor Morris ( Dragon Age: Inquisition Original Soundtrack ) Can’t get any more immersed in the fictional ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm currently playing Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales , halfway through the 4th. chapter to be more precise. Man, I missed this world so effing much! Not even Netflix's Witcher show, which I enjoyed, scratched the itch that The Witcher games left me with. I'm not a big fan of card games but, still,...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

As I said in other corners of the internet, I'm glad about the delay mainly because it'll give me more time to both save money for my in-the-nearish-future computer upgrade and to wait for new interesting PC hardware (like new graphics cards and processors) to be released in the meantime :)

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I only played Dragon Quest 9 and I really enjoyed it! Quite old school but mostly free of the more annoying pitfalls of JRPGs. Just a really chill time and does not take itself too seriously so I would personally recommend it if you are looking for more Dragon Quest. I might try it, if I manage to ...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

Except for Ilan Rubin (his work with Nine Inch Nails specifically), I'm not too familiarized with almost all of these musicians but I'm positively impressed with their inclusion in the game's radio soundtrack 8-) And there are supposedly more to be revealed!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

After many, many weekends, I’ve beaten Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past for 3DS. Pretty great game, especially if you’re already a fan of the saga and if you have patience for slow games, because the pacing in this one is glacial  Even so, I’d say it's my favorite one from all ...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

pwgrsjHlqas CD Projekt RED are pulling out the big guns with this game, incredible. And what a great show they did at E3 this year, by the way. I mean, the aesthetics, the atmosphere, the characters, the music and, of course, Keanu Reeves! Goddamn, what an amazing game this is going to (hopefully) ...

oIIuwtDL_ok "Queen’s Garden" , by Christopher Larkin ( Hollow Knight ) Yep, another huge fan of Hollow Knight here. I recently started this game, thanks in no small part to peer pressure and, honestly, I’m loving it, partly because of its impeccable and engaging gameplay but especially for its art ...

tnLQnX7BPeU "Field of Hopes And Dreams" , by Toby Fox ( Deltarune Chapter 1 ) Toby Fox is unexpectedly (but welcomingly) back! And fortunately his new tunes are as catchy and memorable as before, among them this one. I’m glad that not only these new themes have the characteristic Undertale sound bu...

dluyvD6JGRA "Prague. Time Machine Mix" , by Sascha Dikiciyan ( Deus Ex: Mankind Divided ) Another brilliant soundtrack for the Deus Ex series, this time for Mankind Divided. I like how melancholic and even kind of oppressive this particular piece feels. It adds so much to the atmosphere of this fic...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

Saw the gameplay video as soon as IGN streamed it. Honestly the game they showed in that video is more than I expected, in a very good way :) I don't expect it to overtake the place The Witcher 3 has in my heart but it seems like the type of game that would probably enter my top 10 favorite videogam...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

I was so hyped for this game despite not knowing what the hell it would turn out to be: a GTA clone? An immersive sim a la Deus Ex? A shooter with some RPG sprinkled on top? But now that I’ve seen the trailer and read some bits about the behind-closed-doors demo they showed to the gaming press at E3...

Re: 310: BioShock Infinite

What a great discussion! Personally, I believe that the game portraited both the Founders and the Vox Populi as equivalent evils so they —the developers and publishers— could reach to a bigger audience. For instance, I think that if they would have tried to show the Vox Populi as a mostly sympatheti...

XHPjpflNssY " The Bottom ", by Tomáš Dvořák aka Floex ( Machinarium ) Man, I love this soundtrack so much :) If there’s one thing that makes the people at Amanita Design stand out among the indie crowd is their very distinguishing aesthetics. In the case of Machinarium , which I’d consider their ma...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Recently I’ve been playing NieR: Automata and so far I’ve liked it very much. It’s got an incredible storyline —some anime tropes notwithstanding— and interesting characters (I love the design and acting of the Machine Lifeforms) but if there’s something that really stands out for me among everythin...

I came here just to say that, regardless of anyone's positions about any of the game's subjects, I love reading these type of discussions!

Keep them coming, as long as they're respectful, as objective as possible and insightful, of course.
