Re: If you could only pick one console...

Oh boy, this is a tough decision to make. I suppose it would be a Playstation console of some sort just because of the sheer variety of games on offer. The PS4 has been one of the best consoles I have ever owned, the amount of stone cold classics that machine has offered me has been truly extraordin...

Re: Games Completed 2019

It seemed to be that each game in the order I played them (Dk64-Kazooie-Tooie) was (at least to me) easier. DK64 was hard because it controls poorly compared to the 360 enhanced Banjo games I played and some of the mini games were stupidly difficult. I also made it hard for myself using a cheap cla...

Re: Games Completed 2019

11/05 Banjo Tooie DK64, Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie back to back with all trinkets collected. I think I need a 3D platformer break before I tackle Nuts and Bolts but I throughly enjoyed the Banjo games. Tooie was an easier game to play but figuring out the tricks to get all the Jiggies was mental...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Just started Gravity Rush 2. Seems like more of the same but combat at the moment seems to be a bit improved? Still too early to tell but is starting out pretty good so far. Still looks and sounds lovely though.

Re: Explain your user name and avatar

Name is Joe. Friend of mine calls me Jobo for a nickname which eventually morphed to Jobo Bonobo. I am a sucker for goofy wordplay like that so I have decided to use that as my username here. My avatar is Captain Blubber from the Banjo Kazooie games. One of the reasons why I love this series is the ...

Re: 374: Furi

I am unsure if other people would classify Furi as a Souls type game but for me it is certainly the closest I have ever gotten to experiencing one. While these games have an incredibly passionate fanbase, their difficult reputation was always something that put me off from playing them as I just do ...

Yeah, it just gives you good vibes all around. Music seems to be of real consistent quality with this series, loved the Katamari special Sound of Play did a while back. Introduced me to a lot of top notch music.

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

My exposure to the Katamari series has been limited but what little I have experienced I have absolutely adored. We Love Katamari is truly one of the many highlights of the PS2 and would happily recommend to anyone who wants to try out the more eclectic side of that console’s library. Part of what m...

Re: March 2019

The idea of the Cane and Rinse team covering specific genres after all the consoles are done does intrigue me and could make for some excellent podcasting. But some genres are more complex than others with multiple subgenres. This means for example, that an all around RPG episode would end up either...

Jan 13: Marvel Spiderman Jan 26: Gravity Rush Remastered Mar 18: Ratchet and Clank (PS4) Mar 30: Thomas was Alone This was a very fun little title. Presentation was nice and sleek and the puzzles got challenging but never unfair and some solutions were incredibly inventive. My only complaint is tha...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Thanks to recommendations from some in the "Dream Licensed Games" thread and because it is getting covered in this year's volume, I have decided to try out Furi. I have never tried the Dark Souls series due to being someone who does not have time to develop the skill set to get enough out of that ty...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Being busy with work, I decided to go for something quick, easy and cheap so picked up Thomas Was Alone. Played this briefly at a mate's place and loved the concept of imbuing basic shapes with personalities and motivations. The writing is really fun and the humour in general is quite dry which I ap...

Re: Your dream licensed videogame?

Have you played Furi (upcoming in this volume of C&R)? It's obviously not a 1:1, but the art and animation has always reminded me of Samurai Jack. Lots of skipped frames to highlight impact, etc. No, this is my first time hearing about this but definitely looks intriguing. Will plan to give it a sh...

Re: February 2019

I agree with everyone else here. The way spoilers are handled on this show are just right and if there is a game that is covered that you have not yet but plan to try out in the future just skip the episode and return to it when you have finally gotten the chance to have really dug into whatever gam...

Jan 13: Marvel Spiderman Jan 26: Gravity Rush Remastered Mar 18: Ratchet and Clank (PS4) Fun little title, weapons were fun to use and the levels were tightly designed. Re: 378: INSIDE

This game did so much with such little playtime. It was a game I was determined not to have spoiled for me and I only got tempted to look online for help with a puzzle once which is a shame as the solution was pretty obvious in hindsight. Every other time I was determined to figure it out myself. Th...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Sonic Mania has been one of the many highlights of 2017 for me, it was a game where the team behind it truly understood the mechanics that make Sonic games appealing and as a result produced the best game the little blue mammal has been in in well over a decade. Of course, the Sonic series is well k...

Re: Your dream licensed videogame?

I always thought due to its story, setting and especially, visual style that a Samurai Jack game could be phenomenal if done right. I know there was a Gamecube/PS2 game but that had pretty mixed critical reception and while it looked alright back in the day, I think with modern graphical capabilitie...

If this fella truly is going to be Fire/Electric, he could cause a lot of headaches for water types! That or Fire/Fairy would definitely make me pick this little guy up.
