Re: What's Out This Week?

Arrgh! I've had the follwing thought process about the PS4 release of FF12 for about 2 years. "Hey I should give FF12 another shot. There were good things I liked about it and I never got around to finishing it." "But it's pretty long and has Vaan in it." "Ah, that's not enough reason to not play it...

Re: February 2019

I'll just echo the rest on spoilers. I think that if you try to spend, say, the first hour spoiler-free, you risk damaging the flow of conversation as you all try to dance around spoilers. On cinemas, I like going to one of the more 'arthouse' cinemas in Dublin every month or two. Tickets are about ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

So while you have some leeway still, it definitely cuts down on your ability to brute force through a challenge that you're not good enough for. To the point where I died twice on the boss in the demo last night. (Disclaimer: I have never been good at DMC). I'm on chapter 4 of RDR2, playing in rela...

Re: Games Completed 2019

For a lot of megadrive games there isn’t a separate ROM for the different regions, it actually changes itself based on region. They did it less for later games, more space saving and even some early region locking happened. Just speculating, but although Ristar is a late Mega Drive game, the change...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I’m worried I’m going to run out of steam and never fisnhed with a 1st, just a couple of 2nd’s 😔. Yeah, I have a couple of 2nds myself, it really does fell like hanging on for ages and then 1st just picks me off. Around the top 10 it reaches a speed I just can't handle. Got 2 wins in Tetris 99 over...

The story goes to some very interesting places, especially in the second half.
Yeah, where the story goes in the second half elevated VC4 from being a good game but trailng behind the original to being pretty much its equal.

Re: One Credit Classics Season 6 Trailer - 23rd Jan

 He usually does a multi-episode longplay with each season. FFVII is a big undertaking though. I like One Credit Classics but I'm terrible at watching any long videos on Youtube. I'm not sure why. I watched a few of the older videos and all of season 3 but I've been keeping up with Season 6 whe...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

God Eater, Soul Sacrafice, Freedom Wars, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite... It's pretty much the standard for that sort of game. Definitely played demos/dabbled in PS Plus copies of some of these. Never grabbed me though. Good list for those type of games. Isopod, I think I played a little bit of Fron...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm probably rotating through too many games at the minute. Red Dead Redemption 2 is ongoing, still in chapter 2. It's still early days in Wargroove (Chapter 3 to be precise). It looks like all I wanted from it, Advance Wars but with its own style and quirks. Font annoys me, the font didn't need to ...

A Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
That’s a damn good Zelda game that isn’t it.
Wish Nintendo would go for another 2D entry before following up BotW. I' don't know what new they could do to the formula though.

Re: Retro gaming

Mind, I feel that not knowing the exact label differences between regions can be forgiven in the heat of the moment scan a bundle of cart, that said - I know now !!! Of course that can be forgiven. :) But its odd that for such quality fakes that they got the labels wrong. Then again I know nothing ...
