Re: Shameless Self Promotion

Shameless promotion for myself. I've been going stir crazy lately and decided to hunker down and teach myself some basic video editing. Two editing platforms, an audio editing platform, five days and ten render attempts later, I finally managed to make my first video. It's about shopping for games i...

Re: Our next podcast recording (14.6.20) - 423: Batman: Arkham Knight

The Batmobile parts were such a slog that I couldn't be bothered to finish the game.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Due to my incredible frustration with Atlus and Nintendo regarding SMT V, I modded my SNES mini and started playing SMT I.

It's pretty good!

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

That would be cool. There's a C64 lying around at my girlfriends parents, I wonder if there's a way of downloading games and transferring them to cassette to play authentically. That would be brilliant if it's possible. Failing that I suppose the games themselves would only be pennies on eBay and t...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

General question - does anyone have a working C64 or C64 emulator so that they would be willing to cover C64 games? (I'm thinking stuff like Wasteland, Bard's Tale, the SSI D&D games).

Guessing no, but just curious.

Re: 423: Batman: Arkham Knight

I've been increasingly less enamoured with the Batman games since they became Assassin's Creed with Batman. The Batmobile was a forced gimmick that was fun for a bit but the forced platforming with it was a nightmare. The story was intriguing but I couldn't bring myself to finish the game due to the...

Re: Let's have a thread about the virus, then. We might as well.

Things are just starting to break out where I am. (Ottawa). It looks like our PM might have it as well as other party leaders and I live about four blocks from where they all work. Of course, now people are mass buying at the grocery store, and me being a poor student can barely afford bog roll. If ...

Well. This is unexpected, but cool.

Blade Runner (the PC game) is being ported to consoles.

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording (23.2.20) - 408: Tales from the Borderlands

Full confession - I do not enjoy Borderlands as a series. I played the first game co-op with a friend of mine and literally fell asleep as we played. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this game and I would love to see a Fallout/Obsidian style RPG in this world because there's genuine merit in it...

Re: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore

I'm still infuriated at the fact we've had this, Catherine AND a P5 spin-off announced and released all AFTER SMT V was announced and we've had ZERO information on it. It's bloody infuriating.

Re: Psikyo Shooting Stars

I picked up the Asian releases for these in Hong Kong - they are three separate volumes with four games on each cartridge. I prefer this format of six games per cart, but don't have the money to double dip right now, sadly. Zero Gunner 2 is a lot of fun, as is Gunbarich. I had never really played an...

Re: Planescape: Torment - Cane and Rinse 398

I was listening to the show on this game today and it was interesting to hear that someone (can't remember who) had to start over because of the combat. I played the game late last year and did exactly what they did - points in charisma and wisdom, wanting to be a magic user. Got into the main town ...

Re: 449: Super Mario Odyssey

I've played multiple Mario games, but this is the first one I've actually finished. I'm not very good at platformers, but I'd heard so much positive buzz about the game that I had to grab it when I purchased my Switch. And that buzz was correct! There is so much variety in this game that I was alway...

Re: Our next podcast recording (17.1.20) - 401: Red Dead Redemption II

I'd like to add to the conversation how bitterly disappointed I am that Rockstar have totally abandoned single player story DLC. I find it quite refreshing to buy a game and get the complete content when I pay for it. Hmm. I don't really agree with that sentiment - I mean I do literally agree with ...

Re: 411: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

I have tried all the Soulsborne games and this is the first one that has clicked with me. Maybe it's because this game was originally going to be a Tenchu game, but I really enjoy being able to flick around from spot to spot and there's a flexibility I've felt in this game that I haven't felt in oth...

Re: 417: Marvel's Spider-Man

I really disliked aspects of this story. Particularly killing Aunt May - it felt like they did it just to set it apart from other iterations of Spider-Man. I liked that they used a lot of old villains, and I was okay with them tossing in Mr. Negative as a newer one for variety. It worked well, and h...

It's been a long time since I played this game, but I remember thoroughly enjoying my play through and learning all the skills that serve you during the game. My one big complaint that I remember is that you're forced to toss out everything you learn for the last level (or boss - my memory is a bit ...

Re: The Cane and Rinse podcast Volume 9 (2020)

Two guesses

1) Suikoden - there's only five games, six if you count Suiko Tactics

2) Legacy of Kain because they said "epic new series", not "epic new RPG series", and there's only five games.
