Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

So I’ve been playing Nier Automata, got up to the points just past the boss at the fairground and... I think I’m done. I can see why people like it, but I just... don’t. I don’t like the aesthetic, but mainly it’s that I really dislike the ‘if you’re die you have to find your corpse or be punished’...

Re: Games Completed 2020

Jan - Riverbond Crystal Caves DLC - Xbox One (100%) 15th May - Tacoma - Xbox One (100%) Having ducked into this game a few nights ago, I decided to return to it. It's from the creators of Gone Home and is another 1st person narrative explorer game ... IN SPACE! Sadly, it doesn't work as well. The p...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

You can always tell when I focus on a Trueachievement challenge as my games played list heads all over the place! Just from yesterday, my played games now includes Forza Horizon 4 , Tracks - The Train Set Game , Tacoma , Goat Simulator , Lego Batman 3 , Forza Horizon 2 , Death Squared and Sonic All ...

Re: Gaming firsts /most influential games

Resident Evil 2 I may have mentioned this elsewhere but this was the game that convinced me to buy a Playstation (having given up on video games for a few years after the SNES era); it's about the only game I have ever really got close to speed-running; it was the game that convinced my then partne...

Re: 423: Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman Arkham Knight was for me a game where the sum of the parts was not as great as it could have been. Having access to the Batmobile and having it so well integrated to both the city traversing and to combat and puzzled was great - having to do SO many side quests upon it meant it outstayed it's...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Welp - it appeared on Game Pass and so the majority of my evenings recently have been filled with Nier: Automata Wow. Anything you've read about this game is probably true and I highly recommend it. That said, I'm only onto my third run through (so still not yet seen all the endings...) Definitely n...

Re: Shameless Self Promotion

Another shout out for a side hobby of mine. As part of my new D&D campaign on Roll20.net, I'm adapting each weekly session into a chapter for an ongoing chronicle (so a little more incentive to continue week to week than I managed with the Critical Role series that has three drafts for three separat...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

On console, I've been getting back in to The Division 2 now that friends are showing an interest with the new expansion just around the corner. With the launch AI's hugely aggressive tendencies now patched out, traversing the map isn't the slog it used to be and with all the safe rooms and most of t...

I haven't played the game yet but as far as soundtrack that sound like someone doing heart surgery on a steam engine while in a church go, it's up there.

I also hven't played the game but do like this style of music ...

And that is a great description :P

Re: 404: Assassin's Creed Origins

Origins for me is a great game that I just don't have the time or drive to properly commit to. The graphics are great, the world is beatifically put together and you can drive through on story missions or spend the time to explore all the corners or grind the loot if that's what you prefer. The mod...

Re: Games Completed 2020

Jan 2nd - Riverbond Crystal Caves DLC - Xbox One (100%)

Not much to add from my previous comments on Riverbond from last year - this remains a harmless voxel shaded action game that wears it's indie roots all over.
Better with friends but don't expect anything too deep

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Regarding headphones - I've never particularly thought into it honestly - the Xbox consoles are about the only ones that I've played where I've actively used the online play element and needed a microphone. Did have a set of infra-red headphones linked to the TV some years ago, which I think was box...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

A happy new year to you all. For the last few years, I've been keeping a list of games played (and on what system). 2019 marked the first year that I added some more information. In total 110 games played across 6 systems with a whole 11 story completions ... As the vast majoity is on a Microsoft sy...

There are a lot of 'No ideas' in my answers and I'm still working on the anagrams but it'd probably as much as I know or am likely to remember Round 1: In The Beginning 1. Which legendary 8-bit composer, who's credits include Jack The Nipper and Auf Wiedersehen Monty sadly passed away in October 201...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

After being a bit lax with my Christmas wish list, I received a copy of Anthem for Christmas I had tried it out in the various alpha and tech tests over summer and it was a mess with a whole gamut of issues, so I was at least interested to see if several months of actual release had sorted out the g...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Untitled Goose Game was one of the latest games to join GamePass so we've been trying that out. I think mechancially it works well and the style is firmly in keeping with the ethos of a rouge goose causing havoc in an english village - I'm not certain just how long this could maintain interest. Tha...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

In total, over the last fourteen days, I've unlocked 96 achievements (of which only 78 actually counted...
