Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
We readily and enthusiastically cover plenty of lower profile, niche and original titles. If we were all about the big numbers we’d have covered franchises like Pokémon and (say) Star Wars games years ago, instead of things like the works of Tale of Tales, Dyad and Actual Sunlight, to name but thre...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
I mean, we haven’t even done any Metroid or Elder Scrolls (for example) games yet, so it’s not really that surprising we havent covered a 59-65% rated obscurity from 2013. I have at least added it to the long list though! 🙂 If you really need to cover games that were popular and sold well to bring ...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
I'm surprised Contrast (2013) hasn't been covered. I had a look for it after finishing the game this weekend but it doesn't seem to be in the podcast back catalogue. Contrast is an interesting game with a great art style and original ideas sadly let down by confusing mechanics and bugs. Certainly an...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Currently in rotation (and this is a bit of a note to myself, so I don't lose track on the games of my backlog I'm currently tackling): - Impossible Mission (C64) - Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (SNES) - Fire Emblem (GBA) - God of War (PS2) - The Witcher - Enhanced Edition (PC) - Kirby ...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
Would anyone be able to tell me about the PSN ID and region change situation?
I know Sony (after 8 years of being asked) finally implemented the feature as a beta or something on the PS4, but is it actually an option yet or not?
Thanks if anyone knows anything about this.

The Deed & The Deed Dynasty(Steam) - The most cleverly crafted, choice based games out there. You commit a murder in a house while carefully framing your chosen resident with tricks and dialog choices. Superbly written games which really make you think.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Yeah, also not a online only fan either! I've been eyeing off, and hesitating, on GT6 for a long time (even though it's super cheap now). As for GT5, I had an old save file with many, many hours and progress packed into it. Unfortunately, that was years ago, on a PS3 that died during an electrical s...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 (for my third month now). After smashing the truly excellent GT6 within a few weeks (40 hours or so), I decided to start the new year by revisiting and finishing off, GT5. Oh boy! The 600+ hour completion time is no joke! Not only is GT5 one of the most time consuming games...

Listened to this at the weekend. It was fun trying to think what the games were.
Hopefully you'll cover other random years in this style in future episodes.
Thanks guys.

Re: 373: Final Fantasy X
I remember picking up Final Fantasy X on launch day along with the official strategy guide. I throughly enjoyed the game for several months after and eventually played it to completion a year or two later. I tried replaying Final Fantasy X when it was re-released in HD on the PS3, but didn't have th...

Re: When Is A Remaster a Remake? And When Is A Compilation A Single Game?
I never thought about this but it's an interesting question. I defined a remaster as a polished version of the original. Smoother visuals, textures and such. The same game with improvements. The Gamecube version of Resident Evil jumped to my mind as 'a remake' but then when I think about it, it's re...

Re: Our next Final Fantasy podcast recording: Final Fantasy VIII
I remember being disappointed with FFVIII and having a hard time getting into it. I wanted to like it, I really tried but for some reason I just didn't enjoy it. I put many hours into the game but in the end I decided it wasn't as good as FFVII and sold it. I don't think there was anything seriously...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I'm looking forward to playing Metroid Other M on the Wii sometime. The gameplay I saw looked really good. I don't understand why it was so poorly received. Maybe when I finally play it I will. Playing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 now on PS3. I honestly feel it's one of the most brutally unfair and badly...

Re: Games Completed 2018
Got the platinum on Gran Turismo 6 today :) Getting golds on a few of the Super License tests sure took some work on version 1.22 (or whatever the final version is). Amazing game, certainly one of the PS3's best. The amount of content and replay value in GT6 even without it's online functionality is...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
I've always had my eye out for a cheap one simply as a dedicated PS1 and remote play machine for the bedroom. Rob - genuinely interested if you're selling one? EDIT: Jeeeeeeesus! Last time I looked they were going for under thirty quid!!! Well forget about that then, Google suggests they're going f...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
I think the worst 'console' ever released was the PS Vita TV.
Hardly any games even worked with it, it was pretty useless. Almost every game I wanted to play with it was incompatible.
One of the most disappointing things ever.

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
...I feel like there's a singular appeal to these mini consoles that's hard to put my finger on, but I think its a combination of convenience, nostalgia and the aesthetics of the thing... That's kinda why I'm hanging onto my PS1 Classic too, as I totally get that "appeal" too. In context,...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)
While playing Gran Turismo 6 literally non-stop for the past week I've been thinking about the series soundtracks.
My favourite music from all games in the GT series has to be 'Obscure' by Daiki Kasho from Gran Turismo 3. Memories.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
GT Sport was light on content at launch but it's updated every month with new tracks, cars and more. It has the best handling model of anything I've played. It's stunning, fluid and has the slickest front end of any game I've seen in any genre. There's not as much there as with Forza 7 or whatever ...
