I don't love that SkateBIRD is the only one I googled.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I started Hard Reset Redux. It's aggressively "fine". Don't ask me what the story is, though. Those cut scenes come in so fast and loud, I have shell shock once they end.

Re: Comic Book Chatter
Is Life Story the Fantastic Four book? (EDIT: Sorry no you already said, Spider Man. Hmm I had a look and it seemed to be about FF... Are they doing 'Life Story' for different heroes?) I'd not heard of The Nice House On The Lake till you mentioned it, but it looks interesting. Think I'll give it a ...

Re: Comic Book Chatter
Welcome! I hope you're talking about waiting to have all the issues of the more recent Hellblazer series! The original one by Vertigo was 300 issues long! Black Label has been pretty solid. I was impressed with Harleen and thought Wonder Woman: Dead Earth belonged right up there with Dark Knight Re...

Re: Games Completed 2021
With Jurassic World: Evolution 2 coming out this fall, I decided to give the Return to Jurassic Park DLC from the first game a go. It's actually a pretty good edition, new skins for dinos and the island to match the 1993/1997 looks, adds in the Compys and Pteranodon, brings in the original actors fr...

Re: Quake
I only just found out about the remaster, my finger has been a bit far from the pulse. It might be worth checking out since I've never played!

Re: Comic Book Chatter
I just started Barry Windsor Smith's Monsters as well. The hardcover is massive! It's a beauty though, isn't it! Let me know what you think. I loved it. I finished Monsters last week. It was very good. I'm not surprised at all about how long it took him to finish. There's so much in there! The sect...

Re: Comic Book Chatter
So last week I finally became a Comic Book fan after years of being slightly curious. I did a heck of alot of research, mainly due to the overwhelming number of books out there. I finally settled on a few. So I started wuth the Superman: Red and Blue 6 issues (love the artwork and mini stories!). A...

Re: Shameless Self Promotion
I recently made my return to streaming and to my original home of Twitch. I had a long running dispute with Amazon about some money they owed me from my affiliate status. They finally paid me (with an extra apology sweetener on top). I am not quite sure the direction I will take this time around, b...

Re: Comic Book Chatter
I just started Barry Windsor Smith's Monsters as well. The hardcover is massive! I've been checking out James Tynion IV's stuff, caught up with both Something is Killing the Children and The Department of Truth . I much preferred DoT over SiKtC. Honestly, I can't understand the massive raving of SiK...

Re: What's Out This Week?
I was pretty excited for Humankind, but I went even further down the Civilization VI whole this year and it might have burnt me out of 4x games for the moment! We'll see. Some of the reviews of positive to mixed, so maybe I'll wait for some DLC or something.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I haven't had a lot of time to play much lately. I've got five days left of my free trial of Final Fantasy XIV and I've barely used it. I've gotten to level 18(?). So, not a great use of the trial but the base game and it's expansions were $20 on the PC (not the Steam version), so I had to try it ou...

Awesome, let me know your thoughts. If they can't get you a copy, send me a DM and I will happily send it you. And if you have any similar recommendations, let me know. It's already on order at the library I work at and I've got a hold on it from the local library I don't work at, whichever comes f...

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)
Finished Bullet Train, a Japanese thriller by Kotako Isaka. It's probably my new favorite fiction book. It has a great pace to it and all the characters are really well written, with a villain who is perhaps my most hated villain ever. Here is the blurb I copied from amazon to give you a flavour of...

Re: Books completed
P.S. Do we have a "Whatcha Been Reading?" type thread, or am I okay to continue rambling in this one? Carry on! I downloaded a load of Cormac McCarthy the other week, not sure where to start with it though. His only book I've read is The Road, but I've enjoyed a few of his novels as film ...

Re: 480 - Metroid
It's been a long time since I played the first Metroid but the one thing I've always taken away from the NES game was loneliness. It's that atmosphere created by the lack of backgrounds, that constant black behind Samus adding no life to the world, just a vast emptiness. I think, like the fog in Sil...
