Re: All Things Jurassic Park

If the movies want to become a live action version of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, I won't complain!

Heck, I wrote a blog about that a while ago. And, I still stand by it!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've been playing, or should I say trying to play, FTL: Faster Than Light on the iPad. I think I'm just going to have to admit that it's not for me and move on. I had similar trouble with it on Mac. It's not just the difficulty, it's that I'm not getting into the rhythm of the game. I'd relish the ...

Re: All Things Jurassic Park

Honestly, I enjoyed Fallen Kingdom more on the rewatches than the initial viewing. And, that first five minutes...goodness. Play that on loop at my funeral, please. As far as I know, Battle at Big Rock is just a promotional piece for the next film, not a series or anything. Maybe it was trying to gi...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Life Itself was very good. Though, as a critic, I often found Ebert more snide than useful. But, it was always nice to hear him gush over something or give something a boost when it was down. And, yeah, Scorsese has stayed great. Obviously, his style would be different than how it began, but I think...

By the way, you know it’s dead easy to add all the games you want to the SNES Classic, right?
I do! And I will...once I played all the games on there presently!

Re: What's Out This Week?

I guess that's my other gripe? If the Mega Drive collection had the rewind feature, why not include it in the Mini? I won't be getting a Sega Mini for myself because I have the Sega Collection on Steam, with those options AND more games, including Sonic 3. With the NES/SNES minis cord length, the SN...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Since The King of Comedy is being talked about quite a bit these days, mainly due to Joker using it for inspiration, I finally watched it for the first time. I like Scorsese quite a bit but there's still a few films of his I need to watch... King of Comedy is quite funny, though Robert De Niro's ch...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

How do I get to level sixty in WoW while also wanting to play Dead Cells? At the risk of sounding melodramatic, MMOs are inherently designed to grab ahold of your lizard brain and take over your life. Not the healthiest concept, I would argue. Dinosaurs = lizards Dinosaurs > Mammals Lizard brain hu...

Re: What's Out This Week?

I was thinking of getting the Sega Mini as a gift for my friend, but I'm wondering if the "no rewind" option is a deal breaker. Not for some people, but I know he's been thankful for it on his playthrough of classic Mega Man games. It's got save sates though, right? Maybe not quite as quick to fix ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm trying to figure out how to balance play WoW Classic, which is just as addictive to me now and is was back in 2006, and playing ANYTHING else. I don't know how people who regularly play MMO's do it. I had to quite playing League of Legends years ago because it stole all my time and meant that I ...

I've not finished many games this year but I did just get credits in Beat Sabre.

Very satisfying.
I haven't played Sabre but I'm glad to hear you Beat the game!

I still buy cds.

My car doesn't have an aux port so my CD book has only gotten bigger over the past few years. It's becoming a problem...

Heck, I still make mix CDs, with about 17 Overclocked Remix ones, 8 classic rock ones, and a whole bunch more.

Re: Laptop Suggestions?

Yeah, I have a desktop that works great. We're looking for a laptop so of she's recording/editing a podcast or teaching an online class, I can be editing or gaming out in the living room...or visa versa. I didn't know SSD's use less power, that's nice to know. Storage would be mostly temp storage as...

Re: Your Top 50 Games of All Time Lists

Shoot! I didn't rank my list in order! FFVI would be in my top 3-5 games of all time. I've broken the system! What was the significance of the numbers? 1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2. Super Mario World 3. Roller Coaster Tycoon 4. StarCraft 5. Baldur’s Gate 6. Half-Life 7. Civi...

Re: Your Top 50 Games of All Time Lists

Of the Rankers, only duskvstweak had it on his list, at #18. At the end of the day, it's a pretty small sample size for Ranked, at least, though the FF rankings are borne out in the larger poll. The only conclusion I can draw is that the C&R Final Fantasy community consists of some real loose canno...

Laptop Suggestions?

So, my wife and I are talking about getting a laptop to share between us, so we can do various editing/podcasting/production things between us. I'd also want it to be able to play Civ VI and Final Fantasy XIV. Anyone have any suggestions for a good gaming laptop in the $700-$750 range? I burnt my la...
