Re: Independent Video Game Stores

Bizarrely my wife was googling quiet seaside places in south east to go to this weekend. So tomorrow we are going (purely by chance) to Leigh on sea. Looking forward to checking out the shop and freaking retro hunter himself out by sending him a Pokemon go gift from right near his own shop haha (we...

Re: Rare Replay

Banjo-Kazooie isn’t available on Virtual Console, so that makes your decision for you! I could have sworn that I saw it on there. Well that was easy! The more I think about my question the more silly I feel. Of course Banjo Kazooie wouldn’t be on there with Microsoft owning rare and the franchise. ...

Re: Rare Replay

Quick question. Once I finish DK 64 I’m looking at jumping into Banjo Kazooie. I’ve had a little play around on rare replay but loading the 360 games through rare replay itself takes forever. I’ve heard mixed things about activating the challenges etc that you have to launch them from rare replay. T...

Re: Independent Video Game Stores

So, my mate who runs the Retro Hunter Shop In Leigh-on-Sea has just snagged the shop next to his and has gone into partnership with his friend to open up a Arcade Cafe. It’s early days but their looking at about 30-35 cabinets, drinks, snacks and aim to be open in July this summer. Then there’s the...

Re: Our next podcast recording (20.4.19) - 366: Pony Island

(Think I’ve missed the window but I’ll post something short anyway) Pony Island reminds me of my childhood. Not that my upbringing has another to do with ponies, jumping or beelzebub. The game hearkens back to a time where Hollywood loved to tell us if you read a book in a creepy attic or played a g...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

The last two nights I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time on Donkey Kong 64. Last night I spent about 3 hours on one minigame and have never felt so infuriated. The media often blame Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty for causing violent crime. Clearly those reporters haven’t played this game! The m...

Maybe the cane and Rinse meet up might actually happen ;)
That would be class.

I’m sure I could arrange an out of hours private thing if that would be appealing !!!
As always I am totally up for this

Wowzers that’s some package!
Rad in it.

There’s noise of a part 2, with Rondo, SotN, etc.... 🤤
Would be lovely to have part 2 bringing us to present day just in time for next year’s metroidvania cane and Rinse podcasts. You heard it here first ;)

Re: Retro gaming

They are worth nothing unless you’re into Barbie, Dora et al. Talk to me Tyrone, talk to me...... Haha I was going to say: They are worth nothing unless you’re into Barbie, Dora et al........or you’re Nick :D Sadly they aren’t on the GameCube otherwise I’d be throwing them north of the river.

Re: Retro gaming

All this passionate talk of cleaning products has made me feel like I’m missing out. I’ve got a pile of carts which don’t work which I’m going to try and resurrect. I may even take them apart. They are worth nothing unless you’re into Barbie, Dora et al.

Re: Retro gaming

I’m going to sit quietly in the corner on my own getting excited about this as half my Amiga game disks don’t work and I’m hoping to see some of those games on it. If it lives up to its promises I would be surprised if I’m still on my own for long :)

Re: Retro gaming

I see where you are coming from but they’re advertising 2000 games at launch with the list being carefully curated. I doubt any of us have that big a collection of games of that era (maybe even brutal sports football). The expo feedback has been good and It’s about 5-6 quid a month. It’ll never beat...
