Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Played a mix of things today, in between other activities: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U), Mario + Rabbids: Kindom Battle and Samurai Aces. My kids are further in than I am on the first two games, so they were backseat gaming, giving me lots of advice. Haha I love that your kids were giving...

Re: Our next podcast recording (23.9.18) - 338: Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

I hope we get more similar works in the future. Whether it's a racing game that consists of only one race, but is an exhilarating several hour experience. Or an FPS in which over the course of a six hour mission you only ever draw your gun once, and not even at the end. I want more games that don't...

Re: Videogame News

I’m pretty saddened by this. Although my affection for them has lessened since the days they brought sam n max back from the dead I still thought they were a great team. As a whole I found every one of their games offered me something different and I always looked forward to what they did next. As a...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

This really hammers the point home just how narrow my tastes actually are. I feel like I'm missing out in a way... I see the other members of this community play hundreds of modern games a year and the "Games Completed" thread being updated with incredibly insightful contributions every day. Meanwh...

Re: Videogame News

I might be late in reading this but I just heard telltale games have reportedly laid off the majority of their staff and cancelled a load of projects!

I feel bad for not buying the latest walking dead now and am gutted the wolf among us follow up won’t see the light of day.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

So everybody should rush out and buy Spintires in the PSN sale. I am serious :D It really is excellent. It's hard to say what spot it hits, but somewhere between a Zen game that you can listen to podcasts while you play (think Elite Dangerous or No Man's Sky), and some kind of mind bending traversa...

Kirby’s epic yarn
That's the first game my kid son completed on his own.
How old was he? Bet it was a proud moment.

I have amended my massive whopper of an error. I understand if this is grounds for exclusion from the forum;)

I blame typing on an iPhone on a busy train so Apple autocorrect got the better of me.

Re: Games Completed 2018

I enjoyed the first two episodes a lot, and thought the third was subpar. Then there was a two-year wait for episode 4, so I didn't bother with it once it was released. I don't know when Act 5 will come out, but I doubt I'll revisit them all. It's a pity, I thought it started off strongly; they wer...

Re: Gaming as a parent / raising little gamers

Just a little update. So Noah is 3 and a half now and I have another little one who is only 3 months old! We are massively into the PlayStation 3 curio “wonderbook” with walking with dinosaurs a massive hit. It’s essentially a augmented reality book with move mini games but it ticks both our boxes. ...

Re: Other podcast recommendations

I've been enjoying Amigarama a lot recently. The Amiga was perhaps the first giant technological leap forward for me. I can remember playing games for an long as I remember being alive (on CPC464) but the Amiga was the first time I was amazed and became obsessed. I've almost no interest in playing ...

Re: Games Completed 2018

On the other hand, those buggers at Kentucky Route Zero have all my money for episodes I won't play so potatoes potatoes. Haha I did the same thing and paid up front for the whole series! I think it was because that was the only way to get episode 2 via their website at one point. Have you not fini...

Yes, thanks for the comprehensive reply, much appreciated! I have no further questions m'lud :) I completed Blues and Bullets Episode 2 . Re: Games Completed 2018

super Mario Bros 2 What a bizarre game! I had no idea about the history having never played it before (to my shame) so was quite nice listening to the podcast to find out about its history. Onto number 3. I do love this game. Which version did you play ?? The All-Stars one is the common one I suppo...

The sequel doesn’t need a guide to finish and is in my opinion far superior. I would wholly recommend it!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

At the moment I’m playing deadly premonition and The Last Story. One of these I’m enjoying and the other is proving to be a dull and underwhelming experience. I’m probably 5-6 hours into The Last Story and nothing about it is drawing me back. The only plus point is that I’m able to play it on the Wi...

That being said, I'm definitely gonna be putting both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain forward as my picks for volume 8. Ooh, I already have my three word review! Tactical Espionage Bastardization Make it happen, puh-lease! :P I have my counter review :) tactical espionage perfection It’s not the...
