Re: Our next podcast recording (21.7.19) - 379: Dyad

(humble apologies I haven’t actually finished the game! An impromptu trip to Disneyland Florida scuppered my near perfect scheduling) Fast. Too fast. This is how I would sum up Dyad in 3 words. There are plenty of games which are quite demanding on hand-eye co-ordination but I feel with time I could...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

The funny thing Jay is that your thoughts about Detroit are exactly how I felt about Heavy Rain first time through. I didn’t like Detroit as much even though it’s far superior I liked its janky plothole ridden predecessor.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Re: Videogame Deals

Is it a deal? Not sure but I just bought Kingdom Hearts: The story so far for 17.99 on Amazon which bundles nearly all the previous entries in the series before 3.

Handily this means I can sell my old copies of the games on previous systems and make a tidy profit.

Re: June 2019

It’s really very good. It’s the best console special yet and potentially the best slice of cane and Rinse to date! I’d love to hear (perhaps on the Patreon show) the individual thoughts of a few of the other team members who didn't make it onto the Console Special podcast itself. You can’t have ever...

Re: BBC Afternoon Concert

Wonderful. Just wonderful. I now want to play Get Even thanks to the absolutely scintillating score. I had absolutely no interest in it before hearing the music!

Re: Game that defines the console?

Can you pick one game per console that defines that system for you? I don't mean the best game on the system, I mean the one that defines how you view the console in your mind? Hmm.. Original Xbox: Halo 1 Nintendo 64: Majora's Mask Gamecube: Smash Melee (played this at a neighbor's way too much) Ni...

Re: Retro gaming

Thanks Leon. I watched the video and I’m now sold on the idea. I particularly like the idea of a storefront and the fact there is a HDTV light gun compatible with the system makes my mouth water! It’s like the antithesis of the Sony PlayStation Classic Mini. My vast collection is usable on the syste...

Re: Retro gaming

Anyone looking into getting a Polymega? The price seems prohibitively expensive although it looks like a nifty bit of kit.

Re: Retro gaming

For absolutely no reason whatsoever I just bought a end of generation PsOne with attached screen. Anyone got one of these and can report back on the screen quality? It comes with a charger that plugs into the lighter socket in the car so will play all those old discs I’ve got. Also I think I should...

Re: Game that defines the console?

GameCube : Metal Gear Solid Really?! The Twin Snakes is a more emblematic game of the GC library than Melee or Prime or Sunshine or Wind Waker or any of the REs for you? ...I am shook by this choice, but you do you, my friend! Yeah but that’s me. I missed the N64 and GameCube entirely only pl...

El Shaddai definitely is more style than substance for me. The fact my favourite part of the game was the Jason Issacs delivered attract mode says a lot. Let me tell you a tale...

Re: Your Top 50 Games of All Time Lists

Started whittling down everything I've played into a list of 50. June 2016 was the last time I did this, and that time frame presents a specific problem. I use a 'one game per series' rule, to avoid half the list being from a handful of series. I find this focuses me on what I like about a series. ...

Re: Interview Extra: Metako

A weird one but on my feed there’s another interview by Charlotte which is very very good. I wanted to say how much I enjoyed it but couldn’t find a thread. Also weirdly it appears on the normal cane and Rinse feed but not the Patreon one. Thoroughly enjoyed it and banished some lazy misconceptions ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Just two days after the above acts of rage, which Nintendo’s excellent UK store has already delivered replacements for, I’ve finished Shovel Knight! Like another game with Knight in the title, it haunted me and there was no way I was letting it beat me, so I reinstalled it and finished it. I got st...
