Re: GoldenEye 007 - Cane and Rinse 200

Looks fantastic Darren. Looking forward to it. Great venue for shooting too.

On a side note I still think you guys missed a trick by not doing Goldeneye as 207.

Re: If you could only pick one console...

Some arbitrary rules: The consoles 'back catalogue' consists only of games specifically released for that console. So, remasters and re-releases are fine (for example the PS2 games available on PS4), but backwards compatibility is not allowed (no picking Wii for all the Gamecube games you could als...

Annoyingly my evil within disc I bought off eBay is covered in scratches which are causing the game to repeatedly crash so I’ve given up on that Do you still have an Xbox 360 in working order? I do although it’s on its last legs. I’ve got another ps4 copy on the way as I want to do new game plus. I...

The voice acting is very very good and I suddenly realised I recognise that voice... it’s Rutger Hauer!!! I had no idea.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Just giving Furi another go after struggling a lot on the first boss alone last time. Thought I I’d try again but on an easier difficulty. Oooo, I first played this a few years ago I think when it was free on PSN. Very good I thought and was making decent progress and felt like I was learning thing...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

Apologies if already added to the list but this was a cult classic from my youth. Chase The Express Not sure how this one popped into my mind and I know no one else who ever played or owned this game. I remember playing this game and enjoying it greatly during my infatuation of games such as Reside...

Re: What's Out This Week?

I’m not sure if I missed something but Fallout 76 aside I think Bethesda have been relatively consistent.

Although aggregate scores aren’t stellar some of the Rage 2 reviews have been individually favourable like the IGN review. I wouldnt write them off just yet.

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording (18.5.19) - 370: Ape Escape

Ape Escape is in my opinion as delightful now as it was on release. I never really felt at the time that it was seen as anything other than the analog controller gimmick game whereas it really was one of the finest examples of a 3D puzzle platformer on the PlayStation system. Crash Bandicoot was see...

Re: Association Football (aka 'Soccer' / "The Beautiful Game")

Another perspective is that if they had won even a handful of the games they lost in the terrible run they would have finished much higher up the table. Would we even be having this conversation then? Burnley did almost the complete opposite. So terrible at the start but then the team we knew who we...

Re: Association Football (aka 'Soccer' / "The Beautiful Game")

Ah that’s interesting. I didnt know that. I thought from the outside that you were happy with him. Whenever I start the season (as a Millwall fan) I generally look and think are there three worse teams than mine. I counted three this year and finished 4th from bottom. Next season I can’t count three...

Re: Association Football (aka 'Soccer' / "The Beautiful Game")

I have a Mick McCarthy vibe about this. You can pick plenty of examples over the years but none more marked than their catastrophic relegation from the championship after the fans got fed up with missing out on the playoffs and boring football. The difference there was the fans wanted it too. I don’...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I saw Detective Pikachu. It was a fun time, hit a lot of nostalgic moments for myself. It's definitely the best video game movie (though, I like Warcraft), but I really do feel that Pokemon is so big, that it almost escapes that categorization. It's definitely PG-action, all of it rather toothless,...

Re: Retro gaming

It is hard to find value in the wild nowadays but that's just the way it is now, it has been for a few years now I feel. It's not going to change, it's only going to get worse sadly. That said, it's the community around it that still makes it fun. Sometimes we go out, don't even see anything at all...

11/05 Banjo Tooie DK64, Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie back to back with all trinkets collected. I think I need a 3D platformer break before I tackle Nuts and Bolts but I throughly enjoyed the Banjo games. Tooie was an easier game to play but figuring out the tricks to get all the Jiggies was mental...

Excellent discussions as always.

I think Jay is onto a winning idea with the A Capella introductions to each show. $2 patreon tier plus would save any editing if the landmines start chasing you :D

Re: Retro gaming

I can’t compete with Suits’ almost weekly haul of retro goodness but I just bought Diddy Kong Racing in a charity shop for 50p. Boxed with manual albeit looks like it’s been left out in the rain. We shall see later if I’ve bought a plastic ornament or whether that 50p has nabbed me a bargain. NB: I ...

Oh I don’t mean it like that. I mean I won’t buy it until it’s all out and inevitably cheaper.

If it was a complete package I might have gone in day 1 for 50 quid.
