Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I’ve just started binary domain. So far I am very very impressed. Way back in the bygone days of video game rentals this was on my list but sadly never made it to me so passed me by. I’m delighted to have gotten around to playing it. One question though. Are any of the multiplayer components worth p...

Re: Whatcha Been Listening To?

Anyone heard of Explosions In The Sky? I discovered them last night (at least, I think I have. I've got a niggling feeling I may have found them before and forgotten!) They are superb. Think Godspeed You Black Emperor, 65daysofstatic, early Mogwai... Instrumental post-rock. Very atmospheric, dark t...

Re: Videogame Deals

Yes, I saw your contribution in the other thread! The problem is that while I do like active stealth/horror games very much, I'm not too fond of passive experiences within those genres. The quickest way for me to lose interest is to feel like the game is playing itself in order to be "atmospheric"....

Re: Videogame Deals

So, with GOG's sale of the Legacy of Kain series, I was wondering if I should just start the series at Soul Reaver, or if I should grab the first Blood Omen off the Playstation Store too? It’s very very different. I played it after soul reaver and I learnt nothing playing it that I hadn’t picked up...

Re: Retro gaming

Yeah, I know... I just did a count of how many games I got this year already, downloaded or bought in physical form... 84! My grand total amount of games (hard copies or otherwise) now sits at 1112, and that's counting compilations as a single unit/game. Wish I had more time to play them, but I mig...

Re: 349: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Biohazard 7: Resident Evil)

When playing this game the main question I asked myself throughout was can I really judge this as a resident evil game? It is a huge departure for the series and although carries the moniker it bares little resemblance. This is much more acutely noticeable given the entire series has had the cain an...

Re: Virtual Reality

For PSVR, the two major, 'full fat' experiences are Resident Evil 7 and Skyrim VR, in that they are full triple A games in VR. Resi 7 is well worth a look (there's a demo called Beginning Hour) and another short experience called The Kitchen. The first couple of hours of Resi7 in VR is the absolute...

Re: Our next podcast recording (8.7.18) - 327: Mario Kart: Super Circuit

I am a latecomer to every Nintendo console that has ever existed. I only recently bought a Wii U and a DS. I never owned a SNES until the SNES mini and (gameboy aside) I was usually a generation or two behind in picking up their consoles. I have never owned a gameboy advance so never had the ability...

Re: 340: Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

I feel bad now! The more I think about it the more I think I was a bit harsh because of the frustration the buggy PC version gave me. I was hoping there would be other posts to offset my negativity.

Re: How much have you spent on Steam?

£4,702.84... My wife can never see this number. As for what that works out as an average spend, I'm not sure as I am at work, but I know it is more that 700 games, so somewhere in the region of £6 per game. I’ve shown my wife your spend so now she thinks im a much more reasonable guy! My PSN spend ...

Re: How much have you spent on Steam?

£1568!

Eek! I’m a console gamer but when I’ve dabbled in PC gaming I haven’t waited for steam sales and humble bundles! I’ve tended to buy the games I’ve wanted full price.

It’s slightly depressing given that a lot of those purchases remain unplayed!!

Great episode.

I was going to suggest The Bon Odori from Rhythm Tengoku as I started playing it for the first time last night. It’s so whimsical and catchy.

Good choice Craig!

I Expect You to Die (PSVR)

Finally got around to finishing this one. Good 'Escape the Room'-type game with plenty of humour.
It’s great isn’t it! A lot of trial and error but wacky fun along the way. I’m hoping for a sequel!

Re: Games Completed 2018

15/06 Alice Madness Returns Looks very nice still but was far too long for its own good and became very repetitive to its detriment. Far superior to the original I think. I think Kintaris(?) finished this recently too, what's going on? I liked it a lot for its inventiveness and visuals but it was e...

When I watched it I was thinking, how many PS4s did they tape together to run this? :o

And before anybody replies, I know that's not how it works ;)
I thought that’s exactly how it works ;)

Nice idea. I don’t think I’ve ever streamed primarily because my wife would kill me. Sound travels in our house so I doubt I ever will unless I want to incur her wrath haha
