Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

I just realised listening to the Bonfireside Chat podcast that I missed the DLC completely. Reading up on it tells me that it’s pretty meaty but also extremely hard. Has anyone given it a go?

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

Fuck yeah!! And now games will never be the same again. Well done mate. It's an epic journey, isn't it. It was a pretty remarkable experience. I’m interested to see how the environment is different at launch with Demons Souls as more people playing. Many years on the majority of the people pl...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

I did it! I ended up doing several of the areas but getting stuck at the bosses. So in the end it was a case of warping to the bonfires nearby and polishing them up. Had about ten goes at Gwyn before summoning Solaire to help. Praise the sun! A phenomenal experience both solo and with the multiplaye...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

Just beat Seath! My heart is pounding! I absolutely hated the run to the boss but thank goodness for all the wonderful people putting their orange soapstone signs down as I would have had no idea where to go otherwise!

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

The Capras go down so easily there and then there are the ?mini? Taurus demons too. I’ve hit another boss brick wall which is Gravelord Nito. It seems impossible with all the skeletons and i get swamped and overpowered. My going away and levelling up trick didnt work this time so I have to get bette...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

What's the boss for that area? Four Kings? I know that boss was a sticking point for a lot of people, but I somehow managed it second time. (Not being Billy Big Bollocks, there were plenty of bosses I was banging my head against for days!) Yeah the four kings. I was listening to the Dark Calls podc...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

Haha the Tomb Of The Giants is the area I was referring to earlier when you asked if Blighttown was the worst in the game. As for the ghosts... You need a consumable item to allow you to attack them. You may already have some... (There's nothing to deactivate to enable them to be beaten) That...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

So I made it down into the Catacombs and beat the boss down there who I feel I was a bit overpowered for. I did a lot of grinding earlier in the game which helped with this I think. I ended up in the Tomb of Giants which is terrifying! Once I found the first bonfire I warped out of there! I’m scared...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

I’ve already beaten the wolf and hydra as I think I’m overpowered for them at this stage. Tempted to go into the skeleton graveyard and see how far I get

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

I got back to the Asylum area but I cannot even scratch the boss there. Made short work of the black knights though but the boss must have an amazing drop when it dies. I’ve gone to darkroot Forest now. I’m going to try and beat the hydra or the wolf which demolished me before. The hydra wasn’t behi...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

Little update. I beat Ornsteim and Smough. I feel pretty awful about it as i was struggling in the area so I kindled the bonfire so was human at the time and summoned two phantoms. They promptly demolished all the knights I was finding tricky then when we went for the boss they cut them down in no t...

Hard agree on C&R ding an episode on this one. Just based on the concept alone, it really is one of the more unique experiences out there.
Now there’s a blast from the past! I loved Tokyo Jungle! Pretty sure it’s on PlayStation Now too. Such an oddity but fascinating.

Was the PS3 version not on PlayStation plus a few years ago?
Yeah, along with the Vita version.
I forgot about cross play/cross buy. That was a really good idea.

Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

I actually really enjoyed this having played it at EGX many years ago. The main thing I found is that to newcomers the mechanic for winning isn’t as obvious compared to say Smash.

Re: Rayman

It always amazes me that they kept making Rayman games despite them not being that great until suddenly they became really great. It’s a persistence that you don’t see all that often. (Oranges and lemons are both exceptional games, especially the animation in them) Completely agree. I always though...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

Yeah it's a good place to grind souls, that area. Great area too. There's a mob which you can pretty much one shot with fire, and watch the souls tick up massively. I never played Demon's until after Dark, but once I played it, yeah, it really reminded me of the Painted World. Not really a spoiler,...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

I love Sen's... Such a nightmare to begin with but once you learn the layout it just isn't a problem, and yeah the design is top tier. Definitely have to agree. At first it’s so imposing and everything looks so dangerous but once you learn the hazards it starts becoming manageable. I ended up beati...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

I lit the bonfire.....but didn’t rest at it!!!!!! Did it again first time though. So odd how with the right preparation, knowledge and skill the impossible becomes possible!
