We’re postponing the second Shovel Knight show due to the delay of release to the final piece of dlc. We’ll resurrect this thread nearer the time, next year.
That’s a good idea. Are you subbing in a show planned for next year?

Surely Donkey Konga would make a perfect replacement.

Re: 395: Donkey Kong 64

Recently I’ve played both Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 as two towering gaps in my gaming history. Both on the N64 and designed by Rare. One of these is excellent and filled me with glee the other filled me with hatred and rage. Donkey Kong 64 was the latter. The camera is diabolical and the plat...

Re: 378: INSIDE

I absolutely love Inside. It is a game which I have replayed every year since it was released. It’s short, exhilarating and rewarding. There are few games which capture these feelings with such resounding quality. The fact that I’m using these superlatives about a game which mainly asks you to hold ...

Re: 389: Donkey Kong Country trilogy

Playing a series without any kind of nostalgia means I am probably a harsher critic than most with some history with the game. Being brief I didn’t really like any of these games. The jumping and movement seemed woolly, the cart sections were incredibly unfair and some of the levels like toxic tower...

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording (29.6.19) - 376: Dino Crisis

This is not the game I remember. In my teenage mind this was Jurassic Park meets Resident Evil and with strict parents the fact it was dinosaurs rather than zombies meant I could add it to my Christmas list. I played it multiple times on release in the aim of unlocking everything. I got 2 out of 3 e...

Re: Our next podcast recording (24.6.19) - 375: Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong ‘94’

Despite Donkey Kong being so famous it wasn’t until earlier this year I realised I hadn’t played the actual game. I discovered that my childhood memories of Donkey Kong In fact emanated from one of the many knock offs. My Atari owning friend who let me watch him play Rampage was kind enough to let m...

Well, after Cyberpunk, Death Stranding, TLoU 2 and the next Fromsoft games come out, of course. By the looks of that video, you’ll be able to skip Death Stranding so there’s 40 or 50 hours for you. Controversial. I’ve ordered plastic baby in jar version contrary to pretty much everyone ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Me too. It’s a tricky concept for people to understand. Any 8 player game will invariably have shades and then I’m stumped. I tend to choose yellow as developers seem to single it out as the only colour which comes with one shade! Exactly! All my spreadsheets at work have to be carefully colour-cod...

And those two colours won't be any issue. It's more shades of the same type that are a problem. Me too. It’s a tricky concept for people to understand. Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Really really enjoying Prey. Delighted to hear it, as the beginning can be a bit finicky. It didn't click for me until several hours in. You'll be glad to hear it...errrr....broadens and deepens as you go along too. I was a bit worried at first because I died extremely quickly multiple times until ...

Cane and Rinse old episodes are doing their magical disappearing act again on Apple podcasts. Similar on Spotify but other apps seem ok.

I had no idea it was a Dishonored-Bioshock-Deus ex hybrid. All 3 games are things I really enjoy so this seems right up my street. Pleasantly surprised.

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

I just upgraded and have saved myself money by doing absolutely nothing. I now pay nothing until Feb 2020!

So bizarre. It is a little naughty in another sense as those who don’t switch to ultimate will end up paying the two separate subs. I thought it would happen automatically.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

You really do have to have played the previous 18 instalments. They're very lore and story heavy. The three part novelisation "Rise of the Bothemian knights" covers it all in detail, quicker than playing through all the games. Avoid the audiobooks read by famous commentators though, their laid back...
