Re: Shameless Self Promotion
Suits - just checked out the blog, it looks pretty darn cool. You've made me want to try out Wario Land II, which must be a good sign! Here's my YouTube channel. I've got back in the swing of updating it after a long hiatus, and we're currently producing a series called Mystery Arcade ("we"...

Well, all I can say is it'd be easier to save the polar bears on a flat earth because you wouldn't have to climb all the way up to the North Pole to do so.

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)
This is the sort of track that you can leave on for ages and never get bored of. (It's also an Amiga track, which should hopefully win me some Leon points!) Composed by Barry Leitch, as one can discover by opening the track in a hex editor...I think? Q3cYzOD0TMQ Spoiler: never actually played this g...

Re: Special No.3 - recording December 2018: Game Boy
I'd personally consider the Colour to be a separate console, since it had its own games that weren't compatible with the previous system. If the Colour games could be played in black and white (or green and green), then it'd be a different kettle of fish.

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)
Back in the early 2000s, when everyone else was raving about their brand new PS2, I was still happily plodding along with my dad's home computer. If I recall, it had a nice AMD Athlon and one of the early GeForce cards inside, and after struggling with its built-in SuSe Linux operating system, he ju...

C&R Minecraft Server Part II?
I've been considering setting up a permanent-ish Minecraft server for me and a few friends. By permanent- ish , I mean it'd probably be on during the day and switched off at night. Saving a few pennies, yaknow? My question to you is thus: would anyone here be interested in joining it? Cane and Rinse...

Re: Games Completed 2018
28/07 - A Hat in Time I adored A Hat in Time when I played it. My favourite level (area? stage? world?) was Battle of the Birds, because the characters just oozed personality. DJ Grooves reminds me of my graphic design tutor. Daaaaarlin'! Anyway, I completed Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy pretty ...

I kind of want to listen to some of these and read the posts, but at the same time I want to listen to them on the podcast. A first-world problem for sure.

Yo.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
Probably the best remaster I've ever played. And I've played New n' Tasty.

Re: How much have you spent on Steam?
$1,282.57 over eight or so years. That's a lot of money!
However, I do have 913 games registered to my account, so it works out at around $1.40 per game. Considering a large percentage of those games were either free or from very cheap bundles, I think I've done pretty well.

I have also followed you on Twitch. My channel is Phlum_ (underscore necessary, unfortunately). I've been trying to stream more often, so hopefully posting here will be enough of a motivator. Games-wise, expect the ancient, the obscure, and whatever I happen to fancy playing at the time. Expect most...

Space Invaders 40th Anniversary Retrospective
Hi all, I've just spent weeks playing a bunch of different versions of Space Invaders for a video, partly inspired by Cane and Rinse Issue 320. Thought I'd post it here because, well, you guys might find it interesting. Though I'd also like to open this topic for discussion of Space Invaders in gene...

Thank you for sharing your story, Todinho. I think it's a sign of a strong media personality if you can disagree with him for the most part, and yet still enjoy his content.

Re: Other podcast recommendations
I've been enjoying the DOS Game Club podcast recently. The format is very similar to that of Cane and Rinse; in-depth discussion about a single game, backed by community response. In fact, the panel is always comprised of at least one community member, which mixes things up nicely. Great if you like...

John "TotalBiscuit" Bain has passed away.
I'm not sure how relevant this is to Cane and Rinse specifically, but in terms of the greater world of modern games media, TotalBiscuit has been a hugely influential and respected figure, especially within the YouTube and Twitch circles. I've been a fan of his for a long time now, and while I haven'...
