Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

SZNbabKjKpA Not sure if this was ever suggested, but this song was apparently the original title screen music for the Japanese version of Dragon's Dogma. As you can possibly hear, this song goes full anime fast. It's unnecessarily high energy for what is basically Japanese Skyrim with a hint of Sha...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Eemi8NrrPTE It's refreshing to hear a rap song in a game, let alone as the boss music for the final boss of a DLC expansion. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes already had an unnecessarily great soundtrack - especially for a game which originally released on the Nintendo Switch. It's even more im...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

For most of the Investigation portions of the Danganrompa games, the music was exiting but never made me feel like a detective working on a murder case. Despair Searching from Danganrompa V3 fixes that issue with its smoother and contemplative tone. From what I can tell, this is a remix of the Box 1...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

This amazing piece by Akira Yamaoka for the remake of The 25th Ward: The Silver Case (one of Suda 51's earlier games prior to KIller7 and the like) immediately make me want a crime drama scored primarily by him. Metropolitan Edge immediately sets the scene for a gripping romp through the seedy stree...

Re: Sound of Play: 187

It's been a while since the podcast aired, but thanks again for using one of my suggestions (i.e. the Drakengard one). Still makes my heart sing knowing I had enough taste in music to get someone's attention on this podcast. Thanks for this show, everyone, and I hope this show keeps going strong. Th...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Despite its use in-game, this Killer7 track always made me feel like someone was introducing something big to me like opening a large mansion and seeing the foyer encrusted in gold. It just sounds epic to me. Such a shame it's used in-game to more or less close off the game as a whole when you kill ...
