Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

It's great isn't it. I can never warrant spending £40+ in one go on any game so for quite a while I was using Boomerang Rentals where you pay a monthly subscription and they send you the discs in the post and you just send them back when you're done with them but since I've got Game Pass I have kept...

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

A huge amount of those games shown last night said they're on Gamepass DAY ONE! Come on Sony, I'd genuinely be gutted to jump sides, but I bloody well will if you give me no reason to stay! On top of that more AAA games seem to be coming to Game Pass pretty quick these days. Shadow of the Tomb Raid...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

That Blair Witch game looked interesting. Did anyone else get the sense that when you die you start over again, well obviously you can do that in any game, but I mean like it felt the game was based around that. It seems strange if that is the case as 12 Minutes also looked like it worked the same ...

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

It's not even upping it as Game Pass is £7.99 per month and Live is £6.99 per month so you're actually saving nearly £4 per month.

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

It looks like the Bethesda conference was pretty underwhelming. I'm all in on Doom Eternal but all they really showed was the release date, We had already had 2 gameplay videos last year. What are everyone's thoughts on Blair Witch? I thought it was going to be a new Alan Wake game at first and was ...

Not to mention it also includes Game Pass for PC.

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

Apparently Game Pass Ultimate is now live which includes Game Pass and Xbox Live as a single subscription and is on offer for $1. Can't grumble at that.

Re: Our Patreon

Fair enough. I guess it's all about the games isn't it. If most of the games you want to play are on PS4 then there's no point. Basically the same reason I sold my PS4 after a year.

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

So Jedi Fallen Order looks a lot like it could’ve been called Force Unleashed 3 and no one would’ve complained. Some nice nods to Rogue One here, looks like it’s going to be set in the period just before that. But it all seems so... safe. No risks taken at all. I was hoping for more. Exactly what I...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

I have a (completely unsubstantiated, of course) pet theory that a good number of pre-event "leaks" are actually a cleverly disguised marketing strategy organized by the publishers in order to gain and judge public interest for their upcoming product and making sure everybody tunes in for the "offi...

Re: All Things Jurassic Park

Actually I completely forgot about the Megadrive games which I still ply from time to time on an emulator but really I mean a modern one. I actually had Operation Genesis as part of the bundle with my OG Xbox but couldn't get on with it with a controller. Same reason I haven't even looked at the lat...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

Well I think it's going to be the final iteration of console from Microsoft so it could be something huge (and surely it can't be any worse than the Xbox One reveal so that's something right?). I actually forgot that they have said they will be showing 14 exclusive games. I really can't think of wha...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat

I am mostly excited about Microsoft potentialy showing a new console. Other than that release dates for Gears 5, Doom Eternal and Ori and the Will of the Wisps would be good as they are all supposed to launch this year.

Some Halo: Infinite and Dying Light 2 gameplay would be nice too.

Re: All Things Jurassic Park

Speaking of Jurassic Park who here isn''t still waiting for a good Jurassic Park Game? The first time I played Far Cry 3 I thought wow, imagine if this was set in Jurassic Park. OBviously not with the same story but the way that different areas of the map are inhabited by different animals and you c...

Ah fair enough. I'd definitely recommend both. Personally I think they're both better than the films but even if you don't think that you'll still enjoy them.

Re: All Things Jurassic Park

The only downside is Malcolm spends the second half of the book injured and whacked out on painkillers again. It being Dodgson that infiltrates the island instead of Ingen makes much more sense though. And obviously the less said about the final act of the film the better.

Re: All Things Jurassic Park

True that. With The Lost World they basically kept the most boring aspects of the book and changed all the interesting bits.

I could massively argue this but don't want to derail the thread.

To each their own...
