Re: Our next podcast recording (29.6.24) - 626: The Ninja Warriors series
Missed out on this when I was younger but bought The Ninja Saviours a couple of years ago due to good reviews, a Switch sale and hearing Leon praise it a few times. It took some adjustment getting used to a scrolling beat-em-up on a single 2D plane (Guardian Heroes is the closest I've come to this) ...

Re: Our next podcast recording (15.6.24) - 624: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
This game feels like it was made by a top chef - lots of little ingredients scattered throughout that when put together combine to make something much greater than the sum of its parts. Other genres and gameplay types are sprinkled throughout the game in just the right amount so as soon as you're ti...

Re: Summer Games Fest aka "Keigh3"
I thought Xbox knocked it out of the park yesterday. Possibly the best Showcase they've ever had. Doom: The Dark Ages looked incredible. Fable and Indy look really exciting and it seems they've nailed the tone of both franchises. Not sure on Stalker 2's quality but I'm hoping it'll be at least good....

Re: Summer Games Fest aka "Keigh3"
I imagine a new 3D Mario is quite far along in development seeing as Odyssey came out 7(!) years ago - I'm hoping it's a Switch 2 launch title.

https://metro.co.uk/2024/05/21/ign-buys ... aic_gaming - IGN buys Eurogamer, VG247, and Rock Paper Shotgun – layoffs have already started
To say this sucks is an understatement. Think I may have to go back to buying Edge and RetroGamer.

I'd love to see something from Double Fine - I've no idea what they're working on at the moment and the less I hear the more worried I become.

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Thanks Leon! Thought it was a long shot but worth a shot nevertheless. In all honesty the military stuff goes completely over my head - I'd be just as happy (if not more so) if each force was composed of garden variety animals! It's more that it's a type of RTS that is (as far as I can tell) quite d...

Any chance the Wargame series (European Escalation, Red Dragon, WARNO etc) from Eugen Systems is on the list?

May be worth posting what platform you're on (assuming PS5) as I'm fairly sure it isn't cross platform

Re: Our next podcast recording (30.3.24) - 613: Cyberpunk 2077
Sadly I've not finished the game (currently 60 hours in) in time for the podcast but I do have to mention one thing.
The sense of immersion and atmosphere in general is incredible and possibly the best I've experienced in an open world game. Night City is an absolute marvel.

Re: Videogame News
I'm not sure it's a big fuss over nothing - first party games going to a rival console (with more likely to come) feels like the thin end of the wedge for MS as a hardware supplier. If Xbox exclusives are going to end up on PS/Switch eventually what reason is there beyond Gamepass (which they also w...

Woohoo!
Thanks for taking the time to do the quiz and results as ever Alex, it's a nice bit of fun and really appreciated.
I finally know what some of those anagrams where, OX IMPALER was doing my head in.

Re: Bad game openings
Nier: Automata has to be up there too purely for the fact that it takes roughly an hour before you can save for the first time.
