Have to go to a bloody stag do this weekend instead of playing this.
In all fairness the groom himself is gutted he can't do the same.

Re: Formula One
Agreed - seeing Alonso on the podium was fantastic. God knows he's been due a decent car for far too long.

Re: Formula One
Bit of a casual fan, like the games more than watching the races nowadays.
Found it dissappointing - already looks like Red Bull's to lose, the gap between that car and everyone elses seems huge. Still, early days!

Re: Games Completed 2023
Agree with all the above - such a glorious combat system and my favourite FROM game because of of it.
Gutted it isn't 60FPS on the Series S.

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)
Oh no I know exactly what you mean, it's the reason I prefer physical graphic novels. Digital is great, and it's convenient, but nothing beats having a nice collection on a shelf and holding a real book. And the smell of new books...is that weird? Well I like it anyway... Another book sniffer...

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)
The Secret History by Donna Tartt An 'inverted' detective story dealing with the effect a murder has on a group of classics students, both before and after. One of the most well-paced novels I've ever read - by the last fifty pages I was utterly absorbed and had to stop myself from read ahead. Some...

Re: Hi-Fi Rush
I'm only thirty minutes in but I've really enjoyed what I've played so far.
As a huge Sega fanboy I can see what the reviews are getting it with the comparisons to Dreamcast-era Sega.
Art style is fantastic too.

Re: Videogame News
I thought the Direct was fantastic, for my tastes anyway! Pikmin 4 (now with a puppy), release date for Advance Wars, new Samba de Amigo (loved the original, should work well with the joycons), Metroid Primer Remaster (shadow dropped!), Gameboy/GBA games on Switch Online, new Prof Layton (lovely sur...

Not much to say other than I absolutely adore Rodney and was shocked to find out about the hate he receives online.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I started Divinity Original Sin 2 on Switch. I'm about five hours in, and whilst I'm absolutely loving the game, the characters and the sense of place it has, I'm just banging my head against a wall with the complicated systems and combat. I enjoyed Baldurs Gate back in the day, and this is very mu...

Another playthrough of Banjo-Kazooie.
I was so close to finding everything on my own for the first time until I forgot where one of the honeycomb pieces on Rusty Bucket Bay was - bastard!
Also enjoying some GoldenEye 007 and Wave Race. Think I'm on a bit of a nostalgia kick at the moment.

Ah, so that's why the Let's Play videos I've been watching show two very different playthroughs.
Thanks for the heads up - just looked at Fantastic Journey and seeing the little man on the paper aeroplane brought back even more memories!

Re: 561: Parodius series
I had a copy of Parodius for the Sega Saturn when I was around 9 years old and I had no idea it was a parody, despite the name. I've no idea how it ended up in my collection and I can't recall how it played but the imagery stuck with me forever - the Easter Island heads with sunglasses, the crab-wal...

Re: 568: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Sadly it can't solve the lightsaber conundrum that most Star Wars games struggle with - it feels like you're wielding a glowing baseball bat instead of an extremely powerful sword of light that can cut through practically anything with little effort.

Re: The Great Big CaR Forum Quiz™ 2022... (Closed - winner announced!)
Woohoo, third! I'll take that any day of the week, especially with embarrassing answers such as 'Scotland' for "Which county is Stonehenge situated in?".
Thanks for doing the quiz Alex, always have fun having a go at it.

Re: Gaming predictions 2023
1. First footage of Metroid Prime 4 shown.
2. Return of Metal Gear Solid (announcing either a remake of MGS or MGS6).
3. Game Pass subscription increases in cost.
Hope you're all right about more Bloodborne!

I need to get back into this - how did you find it?
I really like both this and Tunic but I struggle in making a mental map when it comes to isometric games and if I leave the game for a week or so I'm completely lost
