Re: 478 - Ghost of Tsushima

Going to sound like a repeat of what many people have already said but can't be helped :) This is a game that the more I played the more I loved and became the first proper plat i've ever got. It is easily the most beautiful game I've played, while games like the Last of us 2 may look technically be...

Re: 448: Devil May Cry V

Button mashing heaven ?
Glorious, mad mayhem ?
Weirdly wonderful world ?
Devils will cry ?

Will I stop ? erm yes. To put simply this game is just pure fun, play it :)

Re: 436: Oxenfree

I only played this through once but enjoyed it a great deal. I enjoy short well made games that don't require a huge commitment of time and do what they set out to do without unnecessary bloat and this defiantly is one of those. The graphical style fitted well with the story and seemed quite unique ...

Re: 419: Detroit: Become Human

Not sure why but I really tend to like the games by quantic dreams, while I can appreciate there are major inconsistencies in the stories and the gameplay can often be lacking I always find myself enjoying them. Detroit may be the game where they actually got things right, I'm sure if I wanted I cou...

Re: 421: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

A shortened Uncharted game but still on par with it's predecessors. Great characters, writing etc and the same gameplay. If you liked other uncharted games you should play this.
Not worth saying more as I'm sure we all know the uncharted formula by now :)

Re: 449: Super Mario Odyssey

Enjoyable enough but as others have also said I felt little need to continue playing after the story finished. Found the game less fun than 3D world and galaxy partly due to the levels which sometimes seemed too large and with too little variation but my main issue was with the perspective which see...

Re: Shadow of the Colossus (2018)

An excellent remake of a fantastic game. Thoughtful and restrained changes showing Bluepoint to still be masters of remakes. Never had any problems with the original controls always felt after 10 minutes of playing that they felt perfect, but the camera was always flawed and is still not perfect in ...

Re: 423: Batman: Arkham Knight

The worst of the recent Batman games. How I cheered when the batmobile was destroyed, how I cried when it returned. Then at the end forcing the player to complete side activities to finish the game is an absolute abomination, just just arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Other than that it was a decent Batma...

Re: 435: Halo 5: Guardians

While I'm not a massive fan of Halo I've completed the campaigns of all but Halo 2 ( in progress currently) and enjoyed them but 5 was just a slog. The story was not only boring but poorly told, looking for suspense or surprises then look elsewhere. While the graphics and sound were polished the act...

Re: Our next podcast recording (8.3.20) - 409: Yakuza 0

More Yakuza :) My favourite Yakuza largely because of the setting but it also improves on it its earlier siblings in nearly every way. Once again the game has a serious but fun main story along with the usual mad optional quests and activities in the bustling world that's a perfect size for a game w...

Re: 444: The Return of the Obra Dinn

Great game Loved the graphics but felt it was hard to tell what was happening at times due to their low resolution (explosion ? balloon ? jumping fish ? who knows) Really loved the music and the sounds, even the voice acting was surprisingly good for what I would assume was a fairly low budget game....

Re: 417: Marvel's Spider-Man

Spiderman ... Web slinging and traversal - Excellent, traversal is maybe as fun as that in second light (far better than in the much touted slow and dull traversal in BOTW). Story - Perhaps not the best but pretty good on the whole with excellent voice acting. Visuals and sound - Top notch Combat - ...

Re: 398: Planescape: Torment

I'll keep this short as I played and finished Torment soon after release and don't fully recollect all the details but what I do recall is pretty much all good,. Most of all I remember the Nameless One waking in the mortuary and finding Morte, an unusual beginning for a decidedly unusual RPG and it ...

Re: 392: Batman: Arkham Origins

Hi there guys, still playing catch up with the podcast but going to keep up with the new ones so I'm able to contribute in a hopefully not too dyslexic way. Having played Asylum and City before this and knowing of it's underwhelming reviews I started playing this game expecting something noticeably ...

Re: 393: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So Metal gear Solid V, I can only start by saying I adore this game. I was initially not intending to buy it as I felt ground Zeroes was pretty ok but not brilliant but eventually got it in a sale after hearing many people say how much they liked it despite not playing any previous Metal Gear games....
