Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

I especially love the atmosphere of Drangleic. Dark Souls 2 is my favourite of the series to just exist in and wander around, even if I'm not across the mechanics and gameplay the way I am with the other two. It's the one I would most want to get ported to the Switch, though that seems unlikely at t...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Still going back to Dungeon Tales . It's really very more-ish. It has these challenges you can do that are great fun, some of them actually end up breaking the game in your favour. I may wait for Slay the Spire on Android (already on iOS) rather than get it on Switch, I like having thus kind of game...

Re: Dragon's Dogma

There is a huge story beat you can kick off by going back to Gran Soren ... also there are new notice board quests and the world has filled up with more dangerous creatures and boss fights again, hydras and chimeras and etc. But the best fights and loot are to be found in the big endgame dungeon cra...

Lovely news, happy to have been a part of it!

The post game is where dragon's dogma gets truly weird and in my opinion even better, btw :)

Re: Hades

I love playing this in handheld mode, although docked does give an advantage in some of the busier fights. It's currently the default thing I open on my Switch anyway. Also, 20-30 minutes to do a run or a few areas of Hades at the end of the day is about all I can squeeze in at the moment so it's go...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Continuing to explore Slay the Spire clones on Android. Pirates Outlaws It doesn't have as much going on in terms of deck building as Dungeon Tales, at least not yet, but there seems to be quite a bit more of this game behind either grind or IAPs. Still, the presentation is extremely appealing and i...

Re: The best gigs you've been to?

REM - Cardiff, 2005 First proper concert I went to, when they were touring Around the Sun which I like a lot more than most people apparently. I had never experienced the rush of live music and a huge crowd before and it was just brilliant, plus the band were at the top of their game. So many class...

Re: Dragon's Dogma

You guys are making me want to dive back in. The Bitterblack Isle, it calls to me! I hear it’s hard. Really hard!! One of my favourite dungeons in any game. It is definitely endgame level in terms of difficulty, there are some gnarly encounters. Just sent Gerald off with some presents, hope they're...

Re: Are you genuinely excited for Xbox Series X|S & PS5?

This is me being a cheapo again but one of the things I'm most excited about with the new launch is getting some absolute bargains on current gen games about a year from now. Performance and graphical fidelity don't excite me as much as the games themselves, so while I'm happy for everyone getting h...

Re: Dragon's Dogma

If anyone else has played this on the PS4 and has a half decent Pawn (preferably with a stupid name or costume) post your psn ID and I’ll add you. Glad you are enjoying one of my favourite games of all time! If you want to add me on RunTheJewels1 you can take my pawn with you, he is the max level 2...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

No time for or access to pc/console games the last few days but I have been checking out various free card games on Android. Dungeon Tales This is known for being a Slay the Spire clone, but free and on mobile with ads and an optional class you can purchase or just grind towards. I haven't actually ...

Re: Is there such thing as a perfect game?

Eyes of the beholder definitely.

Heard a podcast/interview with the creative leads for Prey 2017 where they talked about how they would have happily tuned it for years and years...but at some point they had to actually release it.

Re: Is there such thing as a perfect game?

In terms of a game where I would not change a hair on its bonny head, Bloodborne comes closest for me, with only a couple of wrinkles like the annoying re-spawning enemies in Yahar'Gul and the Living Failures boss fight which I find to be pretty bad. But in terms of achieving what it sets out to do ...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

I have to share with people who aren't playing this game (which they should) the majesty that is its soundtrack. It's quite long at nearly 7 minutes but I think the effortlessly cool 'The Painful Way' gives a good impression of this game's sound, which brilliantly pairs with its lavish hand-drawn vi...

Re: Hades

Played a few hours of this on Switch last night, got up to the second boss. It's fantastic. The art style, the fast-paced combat, the boons and weapons customisation, the voice acting, music and writing... it is all of an exceptionally high calibre and quality. The game is incredibly more-ish, every...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

Glad you got the Four Kings down because the run-up to them is atrocious.

I like the Demon Ruins quite a lot, really fun getting revenge on the Capras in a more open space.
