Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

That ending seems extremely fiddly to get, good luck!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Been playing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate while waiting for Stories 2. To be honest my Switch home screen is just a row of MonHun titles at the moment. MHGU is great. Pretty old school compared to World/ Rise and built for handheld systems so the environments are much less detailed and have l...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Played about 6 hours of Ni No Kun i, another drop dead gorgeous JRPG. Big fan of Ghibli and I've really enjoyed the cinematic cutscenes, plus the game is really charming just to be in. Not totally sold on the combat yet, it's a bit fiddly but will see how I go. My unsolicited tip: focus your charac...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Still playing Monster Hunter Rise , I mean I've played it almost daily since it came out. I've been gradually ticking off the endgame content, Capcom have been really good with adding lots of new monsters and occasional event quests, plenty to be going on with. Will be hard to beat for GOTY in my op...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Quadrilogy :( I think maybe it’s like Indiana Jones, everyone forgets about the other one. Unlike Indy where I consciously try to forget the fourth film with Arkham Origins it’s because it wasn’t by the same team so it slips my mind. There's four?! I'll be honest, I have only mild interest in Batma...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Yeah, Mark of the Ninja is similar to the predator sections in Batman except they're 3D, so I imagine it's very similar in Ghosts. I would recommend the Batman games to you, even if you're not into Batman as I feel you can still enjoy them without that connection to the character. I knew little abo...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm hoping that Ghosts will be one of the games to come over to PC as I really like the sound of the stealth aspect in particular, going into enemy bases and silently taking enemies out. Would you see it is similar to the Predator sections of the Arkham games in that way as that was one of my favou...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

That's my main in Monster Hunter World. Great weapon, make sure you get a good kinsect too! Another odd little buddy to raise and cherish.

I think you can go into the settings and get the "Toadversary" to move around and attack you?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've also been playing Ghost of Tsushima recently. I'm about ten hours into the campaign, and the open world is indeed magnificent. Both in terms of its sweeping vistas and majestic use of colour, and the incredible detail in the design. Right down to the ablution pavilions at some of the temples. T...

Re: E3 2021 - Schedule and discussion thread

Elden Ring does indeed look amazing. It seems like From might somehow be able to maintain the thick atmosphere they have in their games in a huge open world which is no mean feat. The creature designs are amazing as per, and I really enjoy the colour palette. A bit like Dark Souls 3 but less desatur...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I also played Minit , a very retro looking top-down Zelda-like, where you die every 60 seconds but anything you find persists. It's quite fun running around this little black and white world trying to see where you can go and what you can do before the time's up. Also the music is raucous, really g...

Re: E3 predictions - You get one shot

Marlew, I'd love that Assassin's Creed Three Kingdoms thing to come true. And of course the Dino Crisis Remake/ Reboot! Give it to me! I don't have opinions on many of these, I don't think I have enough familiarity but a couple of things I would be unsurprised to see: UbiSoft - several new open worl...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Did my first ever stream last night, trying out games from the Indie Bundle for Palestine . There's some great stuff in there! Signs of the Sojourner is a chilled out road trip visual novel, with this very light deck building mechanic that's really more of a puzzle matching thing for conversations. ...

Re: Self-imposed rules on buying games?

I've ended up buying quite a few things at launch this year, because of how things have lined up. Hitman 3, Monster Hunter Rise, Resi Village. Fortunately they've all been worth it and shipped in very good shape. Capcom and IO are both at the top of their game, clearly. I think not pre-ordering is a...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm getting into Dragon's Dogma for the first time and really enjoying it, it's nice to play an open world fantasy game with a good combat system. I do wish there was less pop in on the PS4 version, I'm not a quality snob, but it's pretty bad. It’s a great game which is all the better for the pawn ...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

Yeah my healer has Vase of Vitality and Healing Bubble, and it still isn't as OP as the one in World. Ah well! I'll definitely try hiring a gatherer as those rare plunders sound really helpful. Thanks, Eterno. The thing with the palamutes is that after that initial sprint to the monster they don't s...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

From level 40+ it really slows down a lot. It took me quite a while to make it to 50 with my palico and that's when I was still doing mostly the endgame hunts so still getting a lot of xp. I think the training station is actually faster than taking your palico with you after level 40+, so if you wa...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Amazing game that, Gransys isn't the biggest open world in the business or the prettiest but to me it is one of the realest feeling and is so rewarding to explore. You're in for one hell of an adventure.

That makes sense, mine seemed to slow down levelling for a while actually.
