Re: Games Completed 2023

I recently completed Overboard and Disco Elysium. Overboard was a great idea that was fun to play through the first5 or 6 times. I then found having to replay the day over and over, just trying to figure out the right combo and order of events to be a little annoying. It's such a short loop that you...

Has anyone else played the sequels? Do they pay-off what gets setup in the first game?

Re: Videogame News

Are the GBA games expansion subscription only? Yep. GBA is expansion pass only. I went and forked out the extra. Will deffo see how they go at releasing titles this year. The N64 library is still painfully slow at getting new titles. Might just end up getting some ROMS onto my phone at this rate......

Re: The forum seems a little more lively these days

Well I must admit that I hadn't visited much the forum last year or so. Just had a baby boy, so gaming time and free time as a whole went right out the window. Pleased to see this forum is still chugging along and the podcasts are just as great as ever. Hoping I'll be able to contribute to the Patre...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've completed 2 more chapters in Live A Live . The Twilight of Edo Japan involves infiltrating a fortress. Stealth is an option and I did go with a no kill run, although as usual, I feel like I'd have more fun killing my way through it. The Near Future, like Prehistory and Imperial China are the c...

It is. Totally forgot to mention that.

I think if you're on a different platform you'd need my Activision ID which is;

Re: Association Football (aka 'Soccer' / "The Beautiful Game")

I may be a biased Arsenal fan - but I really am hoping to see some of these clubs be held accountable for their behaviour in the transfer markets.

Not just Chelsea - there needs to be a day of reckoning for the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid too.

Call of Duty - DMZ

Anyone playing this?

Would be cool to get a group together. Think you can only do triples or duos, so doesn't exactly require a bunch of us Rinsers to band together.

It's free - so give me a shout if you see me on PS4 playing.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Anyone else still stuck playing Vampire Survivours ? I just can't stop playing this thing. I get into bed, planning on having an early night and then 3 runs later, it's well past my bedtime. I'm also chipping away at Danganronpa . Think I'm near the end - very enjoyable and there's another 3 or 4 ga...

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)

I've been meaning to check out that Grady Hendrix book. Heard him on The Last Podcast on the Left and he seemed like a cool guy. Can't remember the last time I read any horror too. Speaking of which, I've been trying to expand what genres I'm reading. So I read 'Ordinary People' by Diana Evans. It's...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Breath of the Wild It's finally clicked! I've had this game for years now, but it was only during the Christmas break that I spent some time to really figure out why it wasn't working for me. Turns out, I was in too much of a rush to 'get to the next thing'. I'm now really taking my time with it. E...

Have all of the old game sections disappeared or am I looking in the wrong place? Also - an ETA on this year's games announcement?

Re: Games Completed 2021

Remember Me! I loved that game. The gameplay itself wasn't anything revolutionary, but the setting and the soundtrack really stuck with me.

As for games I completed this year - the biggest ones I can remember are Hollow Knight and the Resident Evil 2 remake. Both were pretty outstanding.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Breath of the Wild Not sure why it took me so long to 'get into' this game, but it's finally clicked for me. I think it's because I'm playing it much more slowly this time. I'm happy to spend 30 mins finding a new temple, I don't mind when my equipment breaks and I'm doing much more cooking and pre...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Speaking of Luigi's Mansion - I'm playing 3 on the Switch at the mo'. Really enjoying it - full of lovely little touches and the animation is just lovely. Also playing Hollow Knight - think I'll get quietly plugging away at it. It's basically a hard MetroidVania and although it doesn't guide you as ...

Hmm, from a basic point of view, yes. Each character plays differently and if they can get a handle on that, I can see them enjoying it.

Also, it's free! Nothing to lose! :)

Pokemon UNITE

Anyone here playing UNITE? It's a dead-simple MOBA and the fact that it has 10-minute matches is just the best.

If you're playing, drop your trainer code here! Let's get something organized.

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

I get the feeling that Southgate doesn't really know his best 11. As an Arsenal fan, I'd love to see Saka play - but also as an Arsenal fan I know he'll either break his leg or grab Barcelona's interest and cause him to leave for 30mil. Also - just to add I'm super happy for Denmark. Good to see the...

Re: 500 - Outer Wilds

I really wanted to love this game. Whilst I loved the freedom given to the player and the fact that you were trusted to figure out how to play the game with very little hand-holding - I just couldn't get over how annoying I found the 'reset' mechanic. I don't know if I was just a bit rubbish at the ...
