Re: Books completed (and general book talk)

Last Book Finished: Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie. This is the third and final book in Joe Abercrombies First Law trilogy. A great Grimdark fantasy series with incredible characters and a fully realised harsh world. I loved this trilogy, the characters are so well written that it can eve...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I'd also recommend, on the slim chance you haven't seen it, the British 1970s folk horror, The Wicker Man . Midsommar borrows a great deal from it but goes in its own direction and has its own own cultural touchstones. TWM is very British, very 70s and features one of Christopher Lee's best ever pe...

KING HARVEST Dancing in the Moonlight
That’s crazy. I’d never heard this song until about a month ago during a road trip. Had probably been through 100 songs by that point and it was the only one where I spoke up to ask what it was since I liked it so)

Re: Board/Card Games - The obligatory "analogue" gaming thread

I’m currently very enamored of Chaos in the Old World and Power Grid my favorite 2 Player is Lost Cities. for co-ops im digging The Grizzled and for lighter fare, Samurai and 7 Wonders. My first hobby game was Carcassonne which I still play, and my first game with my group was Puerto Rico which also...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I've watched the first few episodes of Superstore , which is a US sitcom, recently added to Netflix. Whilst it doesn't seem to reach the heights of the likes of The Office and Parks & Rec, which would probably be it's closest comparison, it's early days and the episodes I've watched have been e...

Re: Books completed

I recently read Jason Schreier's Blood, Sweat and Pixels. It was good reading. A lot of stories in there that I knew of, without knowing all the details. I can't imagine the toll of soloing a project like Stardew Valley, even though I read the chapter in the book. And some of those stories are stil...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

One of the best dramatic series I’ve seen past years. It’s just about flawless in every respect: writing, acting, set design, cinematography, etc. can’t recommend highly enough, even if you’ve never played chess in your life. Start watching I Know This Much Is True released earlier this year. Smart,...

Celeste

I just beat it the other day. What a game. I have to recommend it to anyone that'll listen, and I'm hell bent on getting my non-gaming gf to play it. It's easy to pick up, a ton of fun, and has something to say, something I think most people will really relate to.
