Re: Games Completed 2021
Some day I'll go through the whole year but here's the few games I managed to fully complete in September. September Katamari Damacy: Reroll Grabbed it from gamepass and it is just such a delight. I found myself playing a level every day after work and it really did wonders to help me wind down and ...

Re: The videogame music thread
In honor of Sora for Smash I figured it'd be a good time to share some Kingdom Hearts music. This performance does a wonderful job of bringing in medleys of a lot of different nostalgic tunes from across the series. I didn't really get into Kingdom Hearts for real until pretty recently so I didn't r...

kRv2PV_gM1o The Simpsons Arcade - No Death After my appearance on the recent podcast, it felt only right to try and put a bit of time into the clear. Loads of fun and made me think about doing it live and maybe with some other characters. You just made my wallet ache over how many quarters I must h...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
I'm just hoping Ever Crisis has no microtransactions and helps pave the way for more high quality mobile games that don't rely on lootboxes and timers. Some of the best options already for full games on mobile are final fantasy dimensions and the mobile releases of the mainline titles.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I don't expect it to change as it's been announced now and has built up some hype, as was the case with Octopath Traveler. 'Bravely Default' is equally crummy. It's like they come up with the titles by picking two words at random from a dictionary and mashing them together. I do appreciate what the...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)
The Dynasty Warriors series has always been a series i hold near and dear to my heart. I know the games aren't for everyone, but they are what introduced me to the hack and slash genre as well as getting me invested in ancient chinese culture and rock music. Dynasty Warriors 7 i remember very fondl...

Re: 459 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989 arcade) and The Simpsons (1991 arcade)
I was born in 89 so I think I missed most of the heyday of arcade machines, but I still have very fond memories of playing both of these games many times in the late 90's at any opportunity I had to go on a field trip or birthday party at a place that had an arcade. The one I spent the most time wit...

Re: The Sound of Play submission thread
With Bravely Default II on the horizon and Revo of Sound Horizon back to do the music I thought it would be a good idea to remind people just how amazing the soundtrack for the first game is. I remember on a previous podcast you guys talked about the music really punching above its weight class for ...

Super pumped for BDII but the only thing the new trailer really gives is just more of a taste of the awesome music.

Re: Our next podcast recording (13.2.21): 456 - Pokémon gens 1 and 2
I think the most important thing about experiencing Pokemon as a child was just how ubiquitous the franchise was. It seemed like every kid in my entire school was playing the games, trading not just pokemon, but hints and strategies, their thoughts on the TV show, and even trading cards once the TCG...

Re: 463 - Final Fantasy VII Remake
One thing that really stood out for me playing this was just how well they managed to bring the characters to life. The animation in particular goes a long way to giving subtle depth to the character interactions through wonderful use of facial expressions and body language. Cloud in particular does...
