Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

Would love to see Italy Vs France right about now. The Italians are just so organised with the way they play. Neither team looks like losing at the moment, so It would be incredible seeing them in a knock-out, winner-takes-all game. Wales just need to hold their nerve and not drop any goals against...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

So far I would say my favourite character is Dutch, I love how goofy he is but also has moments of being a badass. The serial killer interrogation is a great early moment for him and showed that he wasn't just some hapless cop for comic relief. Also, I like the detail that he's called "Dutch&q...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Just finished season two of the Shield last week and loved it, I can see this being in my top 3 shows ever. I just love all the characters and the plot which runs through each season. People tell me that each season just gets better so I can't imagine how good season 7 will be. An incredible series...

Re: 474 - Koudelka

I'm sorry if this comment is completely useless in terms of feedback, but after looking up this game it awakened some lost memory of something I have definitely experienced yet lacking any actual detail. From looking at the cover of this game and gameplay videos, I know I used to own this and played...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

Huh, I searched the website as my feed doesn't have all the episodes on it and nothing came up. I just tried it now and it worked, I guess I must have spelt it wrong or something...

Thanks for that though, I'll download and check it out!

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

I was in the middle of writing a post for the PS3 special and Spec Ops: The Line is one game I think is sometimes overlooked. Do you have that on the list? It's one of the most interesting games of that generation and a favourite of mine. Plenty to discuss there, too.

Re: Whatcha Been Listening To?

The new Perturbator album, Lustful Sacraments, is fucking brilliant. He's exploring a whole new goth sound mixed in with his trademark synth/darkwave. If you've a passing interest in any of those genres, check it out. Very Sisters Of Mercy vibe in places. 2nx_a0u6hmg NhGPW4oh8OU Cheers for the head...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I’ve had The Saboteur on PS3 hanging around waiting to be played for years, so decided to give that a go. Bit basic by modern standards, but it’s a good premise, the art style holds up and I’m having fun with the World War II setting. Guess I’m most of the way through and I’m glad I finally got to ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I was playing The Last of Us Part 2 (and enjoying it too, if that's the right word) and after 15 hours of work my PS4 decided it was too grim and has ended its life. And as I'm not on PS+ and I hadn't packed up my saves recently that's all my progress lost on this and Shibuya Scramble (10 hours). Is...

Re: Comic Book Chatter

I agree, I was glad I read each part on release as it gave me a chance to read through again and piece things together. The pacing was so rapid at times and the story shifts so dramatically that I kept wondering if my editions were missing some pages.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I picked up the One Cut of the Dead: Hollywood Edition set from Third Window Films this week. The original is such a wonderful and fun film, maybe I'm still buzzing off the excitement of seeing it for the first time this year, but it might be in my top 10 ever. I keep worrying that I'm becoming jade...

Re: Comic Book Chatter

I'd say Last Knight isn't particularly supernatural or anything like that, I'd say it leans very heavily into sci fi. And it's post-apocalyptic, so contains a lot of the tropes from that genre. There's some fantastical and surreal stuff, but it actually tells a very human story. Damned is definitely...

Re: Comic Book Chatter

Not a recent one, but I picked up the three editions of Batman: Last Knight on Earth when they came out. I can't say I followed the story completely as it was densely packed with references and characters, but it was enjoyable enough. The writing and art are both very strong, and as I was buying eac...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

Has 428: Shibuya Scramble ever been suggested? I'm playing through it at the moment and I was curious to see if it had ever come up. Granted there's not much actual "game" to talk about, but it's a fun experience. I guess visual novels in general are hard to cover as the vast majority of t...

Re: Guilty Gear series

There's a bundle for the series, so you can pick up most of the games for about £7: https://www.humblebundle.com/games/guilty-gear-bundle

I haven't played any yet, but I have some of them on my PC and hopefully they'll work with my Saturn controller, so I'll get on them soon.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Episode 3 has just been on, and it's like last week's with its focus on drama and tension. The first one got a lot of laughs from me, I liked a lot of lame jokes and the heist montage was brilliant. Last year wasn't completely bad, it just felt like it was running of steam. Only the magician one and...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Has anyone been watching the new series of Inside No 9 ? I felt last year was a rare dip in quality for a show that has been consistently excellent, but this latest run has been really good so far. The first episode in particular was fantastically silly and creative. Just now finished binging 'The L...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I started 428: Shibuya Scramble today. I'm not far into it, but I like the presentation and the fun cast of characters. It's a good idea to not have a voice audio, as I always read ahead anyway, plus the music is fantastic too. There have been several nods to Twin Peaks already, which is making me ...

Re: Golden Axe (Or Golden Ayxe in The Netherlands)

I watched this not long after it was uploaded as I knew it was something I couldn't miss out on. Amazing work, as always. I like how even though the video title outright says it was completed, I was still tensing up at moments, especially with the skeleton fights. It's strange how memory plays trick...
