Re: Final Fantasy I - XV

VIII is a very interesting Final Fantasy and I adore it. It's one of the most innovative Final Fantasy and there truly tried so many different systems and settings. Everything felt fresh if you played it at the time, and I think if you played them in order you would also see it stand out. Which is p...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

You do have more control over your palico in World since you can order him to use specific skills, but at the same time you get to bring two with you in Rise, instead of one in World, and you keep one even in multiplayer while the one in World would only stay up to 2 players iirc. It’s an interestin...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

From level 40+ it really slows down a lot. It took me quite a while to make it to 50 with my palico and that's when I was still doing mostly the endgame hunts so still getting a lot of xp. I think the training station is actually faster than taking your palico with you after level 40+, so if you wan...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

I don't remember the exact HR, I'm gonna say 50, but you need to unlock more hub quest and level up your HR to unlock more levels for your palico and palamute. Eventually they can level up all the way to 50 though you don't get new skills past level 20.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

This is probably because it's the end of Village story quest. To further progress the story you have to do Hub quest which used to be very hard solo in previous games so more seen as the multi-player / online arc. Rise's hub quests are much manageable now solo, so there's less of a separation betwee...

Re: 478 - Ghost of Tsushima

I had no intentions to buy Ghost of Tsushima, thinking it was yet another open-world action RPG with a bloated map. However, living in Hakata bay, I would very often see the remains of the Genko Borui, the 20km wall that was built in 1276 to stop the Mongol invasion, and one afternoon as I was walki...

Re: The "Introduce yourself" thread

Hi Eterno and welcome to the community, I hope you enjoy your time here! I'm an Xbox fan too, what are you playing at the moment? I'm currently enjoying Apex Legends and Warframe on the Box! Nice to meet another expat in Japan, which prefecture are you living in if you don't mind me asking? I'm cur...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter combat is really something you need to get used to before you can enjoy it's depth imo, one key thing I'd is that it's ok to miss! Especially with the slower weapons. It's a bit frustrating at first because other games try to make sure you almost never miss, but in MH you miss a lot a...

Re: 469 - Overwatch

I always approached Overwatch as an arcade game, not a competitive one, and it’s probably why I have been able to enjoy it for so many hours through the years. What I’m always amazed by is the amount of variety each match brings. When you don’t play with a team or rank matches, you hardly ever play ...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

So...I watched the Mortal Kombat movie and...I have no words. I cannot, for the life of me, process how you make such an abysmally bad movie with such a strong franchise, especially considering the first two movies were that good for their time. If I were not a Mortal Kombat fan I would have stopped...

Re: Microsoft account hassles (Xbox etc)

I think the issue might be that you think of it as an Xbox Live account, when it's really just a Microsoft account. Everything you are trying to do can be done simply by logging in to the account Manager on the Microsoft website. Add an email address to the account and then you will be able to make ...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

It's Saturday night, I had a bottle of wine and nobody to share it with, spent most of the afternoon playing MH:Rise so I thought...let's give the Monster Hunter Movie a chance. And honestly..., it was very much fine!? First of all, it's really just a Monster Hunter World and Iceborne movie. It refe...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

Now that I've spent a good amount of time at end game, I have to admit it is a bit "lacking". It wouldn't be fair to compare it to Iceborne, but I do miss some of the more challenging monsters we had even at the end of World. The game doesn't have any really challenging monsters that requi...

Re: Monster Hunter Rise

This game has been my obsession for the past three days. I loved MHWorld and Iceborne but I think I might prefer this. It doesn't take itself seriously and it runs surprisingly well compared to World on Base PS4. But it really just is that damn gameplay loop. I played all weekend and today at work c...

Re: 476 - The Last of Us Part II

I love all these facts I didn't even know I needed to know but I'm so glad I do 🤣 reminds me of my 14 floppy disks or so of Tomb Raider. Anyway, as Miririn said, I was indeed referring to these scenes where they make you “play” their set scenes (you have no control as to how the scene will unfold) s...

Re: 476 - The Last of Us Part II

I did not enjoy TLoU Part 2 at all for most of the reasons stated already in this thread, but I wanted to focus on a specific point here. The Last of Us was by far one of my favorite story of the Playstation 3 era and the way it was delivered was near perfect to me. The scene where Sam turns and his...

Re: The "Introduce yourself" thread

Hey guys, Eterno here. Started listening to your podcast about a month ago and thought it was absolutely worth 2$ a month, so here I am. You really remind me of the good old videogames magazines with 12 pages review or in-depth analysis. Absolutely love it! As for myself, I'm French and started play...
