It's definitely a thriller though there is some gruesome violence.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Just saw Loves Lies Bleeding. I loved it, it was fantastic, a tense well directed grimy thriller. Great soundtrack, really atmospheric, with a fantastic cast. I can't recommend it enough. It's nice to see a good contained thriller that doesn't overstay it's welcome. It is a very horny violent movie,...

We got a lot of cool news today. Hi-Fi Rush is coming to PS5, Pentiment and Grounded are coming to Switch, Penny's Big Breakaway dropped on everything, and we got a release date for Shadows of the Erdtree.

Re: 613: Cyberpunk 2077

CD Project Red's strength are it's writing and Atmosphere. That didn't change in Cyberpunk, the atmosphere in each area of the city is incredible and is still probably my favorite open world game to be in. The characters and their writing are stellar with great performances all around. The best char...

Re: 610: Yakuza: Like a Dragon

This is my favorite Yakuza game. Ichiban is a inverse to Kiryu, he's an obnoxious, over the top dumbass who can't stay quiet and I love him. The fact that his character suit is also an inverted version of Kiryu's is a great detail. He's a pivotal element of this game because he's just so endearing. ...

Re: 622: Elden Ring

I love Elden Ring and it's right up with Bloodborne in my all time favorite games. The most immediately striking feature are the visuals which are fantastic across the board and incredibly varied; more so than any other open world game I can think of. So much of it looks ripped from an 80s fantasy n...

Re: Videogame News

I'm not sure it's a big fuss over nothing - first party games going to a rival console (with more likely to come) feels like the thin end of the wedge for MS as a hardware supplier. If Xbox exclusives are going to end up on PS/Switch eventually what reason is there beyond Gamepass (which they also ...

I tried this via gameplay and didn't play much for a very simple reason, it just felt bad to control which is a big issue in a first person shooter.

Did anything else stand out from the Xbox showcase for anyone else? I thought it was a good showcase overall with Xbox finally revealing games which are coming this year, there was only really Indy I will play but I could still appreciate the other games shown will appeal to lots of people. I'm loo...

Re: 636: Vampire Survivors

This game is pure dopamine and I love it. It's the leveling and build aspects of an ARPG or mobile game condensed into an (initial) half hour session. I 100 percentaged this game the year it came out and got most of the unlocks from the DLC because it's got just enough gameplay and mild strategy to ...

This is my most anticipated series to watch next year, Park Chan-Wook is always fantastic and the book it's based on seems pretty interesting. I've been looking foward to it for a while and I think it's gonna deliver.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I just finished watching Scavengers Reign on Max and its now my favorite show this year. There's a sequence in the final episode that was similar to the sequence in Twin Peaks the Return episode 8 and Annihilation, it gave me chills and is definitely the best thing I've seen this year. It's a fantas...

Great year for games where I managed to miss a lot of heavy hitters like Armored Core, Rogue Trader and Jedi Survivor which I will play eventually, but Baldur's Gate 3 and Wrath of the Righteous sucked up a lot of my time. 10. Super Mario Wonder 9. Horizon Call of the Mountain 8. Street Fighter 6 7....

Re: 600: Demon's Souls (2020)

Demon's Souls was half the reason I bought a PS5 and it didn't disappoint. Blue Point really knows how to make a pretty remaster and Demons Souls is certainly no exception, it's still of the best looking games on the system. They did such a great job utilizing lighting in a way that really emphasiz...

Unfortunately I do think it goes a bit overboard with the jumpscares.
