Re: Games Completed 2021

July 29- Yakuza Kiwami 2

This is the 3rd Yakuza game I finished after 7 and 0. It's my favorite so far, it's just a fantastic game. I have some issues with plot reveals, but it's so snappy and fast paced and full of ridiculous plot details that I can't help but love it.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Just Watched The Green Knight, it's really good. If you wanna watch a interesting retelling of a medieval morality tale definitely check it out.

I absolutely loved SoR4 so this sounds great. Is there any new arcade levels,?
No, just a survival mode which includes some new weapons and enemies and those 3 new playable boss characters( Shiva, Max, and Estel) that you can play in any mode.

Re: 479 - Yakuza Kiwami 2

First things first, I haven't finished Yakuza Kiwami 2. I only got to chapter 5. That said I am loving the game and I definitely aim to finish it, just don't have a lot of time right now. Yakuza 7 was the first Yakuza game I finished followed by 0, I really enjoyed both. I did skip Kiwami 1 because ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I got the Streets of Rage 4 DLC, Shiva's just a ton of fun to play, the other 2 are good, but he's just a step above for me. The DLC is definitely worth checking out if you like main game; 3 new characters and a new survival mode.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I Played some of Black Ops 4 since it's on PS Plus. I never really got into multiplayer gaming because I didn't grow up gaming and was mostly focused on those singleplayer games I missed. As expected I'm terrible, but it's a lot of fun and I can definitely see how almost every aspect is designed to ...

Re: Games Completed 2021

I finally finished Yakuza 7, it was a fantastic game and it's probably my favorite JRPG. It has a lot if convoluted on the top plot elements, but with a ton of memorable characters you stop caring how ridiculous the plot is. Ichiban is a fantastic lead character; he's an obnoxious idiot half the tea...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I just went through Season 1 of The Sopranos, as expected it's really good. In particular the camera work and cinematography is a standout, I can see how people credit this show with changing TV for the next 2 decades.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I got to the credits in Dragon's Dogma and just started playing the endgame content and wow I didn't expect the difficulty to go up that much, I would've been destroyed by some undead and dogs of I didn't have Taffer with me.

Feel free to add me and borrow my pawn.
I might do that, I barreled through the main game and to the credits, but there's still a lot of "endgame" to take care of.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm getting into Dragon's Dogma for the first time and really enjoying it, it's nice to play an open world fantasy game with a good combat system. I do wish there was less pop in on the PS4 version, I'm not a quality snob, but it's pretty bad.

I'd also recommend Pistol Whip, it's Beat Saber mixed with an light gun game, it's simple, but it's a lot of fun.

Re: Games Completed 2021

I played through Bayonetta for the first time and really enjoyed it, it's a fantastic game. I did think the final boss but spectacle above visual clarity in a mildly frustrating manor, but it was a hell of a spectacle.

May 23rd, I beat River City Girls. The Streets of Rage 4 podcast finally got me into 2d beat em ups for the first time, Streets of Rage 4 was great then moved I on to River City Girls because of all the mentions it got on that podcast. It's a beautifully animated game with great music and a satisfyi...

Re: 471 - Star Trek: Bridge Crew

I picked this up to play for the pod and enjoyed it, I played it on an mid tier pc with an Quest 2 and that probably hampered the experience as it wasn't designed for the controllers I had. I'm not a massive Star Trek fan, I've seen about half the episodes of the original series and really liked Wra...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Much like the first series I still feel like it's trying way too hard to be edgy and subversive. Compare this to the Watchmen series, especially with how it handles racism, and it comes across as quite petulant and on the nose (calling a racist character Stormfront is a little obvious). Yeah, I thi...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I've been watching the second season of a boxing Anime called Megalobox. The first season was pretty solid, it was well animated with a fairly basic underdog story, but I'm liking the second season a lot more, it just focuses more on characters than fights. It's a pretty simple show on the shorter s...

Re: 494 - Final Fantasy VII Remake

This is the first Final Fantasy game I finished, I couldn't get into 15, but I am making my way though 6 at the moment. I enjoyed the game, it looks fantastic, has a great combat system, a few interesting characters, and it explores a lot of important and relevant themes. As for the writing, it was ...

Re: 500 - Outer Wilds

In a way every game is about learning, but I've never played a game that does such an effective job isolating the concept of exploring, learning, and interacting with systems as well as Outer Wilds. The game really feels like an adventure; the sense of exploration and the feeling you get when you re...
