Re: All things Telltale

Yeah, I just checked and Transformers: Devastation is still in my PS4 library. It's not on the PlayStation Store though, so you'll have to check through the 'Purchased' section of your library to install it. Given the rumours that our PS4 and Xbox One libraries will transfer over, and the new consol...

Re: Games Completed 2019

I loved learning that fight too, Ogata. My only complaint, and one I've heard a lot from others, is having to go through the fight immediately beforehand every single time. That first round quickly became trivial for me, and so it was this weird gate I had to walk through in order to get back to lea...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Yeah, I definitely felt that Gears 4 was The Coalition proving they could make a Gears game. Really hoping they stretch their legs with Gears 5 and step outside of what's expected, at least a little.

Re: Dragon's Dogma

Yeah, really frustrating, Alex79uk. :( Sorry, Scrustle! I can only say that the dagger abilities I have mostly seem to come down to holding R1 and a face button to initiate, and then mashing an attack button to continue the move. I either stagger the enemies by continuing to mash or risk my a...

Re: Dragon's Dogma

Ooft! I'm about 10 hours in now, and am struggling to find a hook that'll keep me going, sadly. The combat feels very mashy and weightless, plus I feel I'm relying on my pawns to carry me through the tougher confrontations. The traversal is pretty frustrating, with incredibly-slow stamina regen, and...

Re: Dragon's Dogma

Yeah, getting that feeling from it myself. Will definitely set aside 1-2 hours at a time for it, and save shorter sessions for other games, I think.

Re: Dragon's Dogma

Far be it from me to dust off an old thread, but I've started playing Dragon's Dogma today! :o I've heard lots of good things about the game over the 7 years since release, but just never got around to playing. Well, the time is now! I was passing my local CeX this morning and stuck my head around t...

Re: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Fear not, Alex79uk, the enemies which need multiple deathblows are definitely mini-bosses. The distinction is similar to Souls games in that he won't respawn once you beat him. That particular fight is testing your ability to deal with Perilous Attacks (symbolised by the red kanji alert). This was c...

Re: Destiny / Destiny 2

I had almost exactly the same experience with D2 as I did with Destiny; the shooting felt good enough for me to see the campaign through to completion, but I quickly ran out of steam thereafter. Sadly, with both games I found myself completely unsure of what to do or where to go once I didn't have a...

Re: Destiny / Destiny 2

Pretty sure I'm going to hop back into D2 when New Light launches alongside the Shadowkeep expansion in September. I was hoping Rage 2 might give me the looty-shooty fun I've been missing of late, but word of mouth on that game kinda put me off. The Pitchford Effect is still cooling any enthusiasm I...

Re: Videogame News

I suppose Darksiders: Genesis also means that Strife will have his own solo outing, so Darksider IV could be a four horsemen game?

I guess we'll see!

Re: What classic games or series are still to be looked at by C&R that you hope get covered in the future?

Unsurprisingly, all of these series (and most of the spin-offs mentioned) are on the spreadsheet. With previous series, we recorded on a monthly cadence, but even that had to be relaxed for Final Fantasy. This was to give the team time to play each game, and also because the Volumes can quickly beco...
