Re: Videogame News

Or you could hack an old Vita.

EDIT: Ah sorry, didn't realise it actually played the carts! (I was also taking about the Analogue Pocket).

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Looks good. How is it to use? Buttons nice and clicky? Does it feel pretty solid?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Pretty much the only place where *component* is significantly better than an RGB scart is once you reach the 360 and ps3 in the HD era, where component begins to edge it (but you’re still better using hdmi) Like the original Xbox 360 Premier Edition. That’s the only time, and the only TV I’ve ever ...

Re: September 2019 monthly

Yeah I never really say it, but look forward to these episodes just as much as the main show. They're always great after a shitty day at work. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but it really feels like just chatting with a couple of mates down the pub. Sometimes I'll even join in with a real life 'ha, ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

The save state and rewind features of the NES Online can help to 'soften' the experience somewhat, compared to the purist choice of tackling the original cart. I've been flying through Super Mario Bros. by making heavy use of the save states (I'm awful at platformers). I felt guilty for almost a fu...

Re: Videogame Criticism

I'm interested in this game. People were talking about it on here a while back I think - is it the one where you can either play story mode or survival (endless) mode? It looks right up my street, but I've not got round to getting it yet.

Re: New Mobile Phone tech - Does anyone still care?

Haha. After much research, I reckon I'm going for the Huawei P30. Looks pretty perfect for what I want. An ever so slightly larger screen would have been nice for comics, but the Pro version is a lot pricier. And the standard P30 already has a clear inch more space than my current Sony phone.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Super Metroid on the other hand is an absolute classic, although it might be tough to get through for many players accustomed to modern design sensibilities. Cool. I'll check it out. Nothing to lose! Played it myself for the first time ever last month. It was fantastic. I felt like giving up around...

Re: New Mobile Phone tech - Does anyone still care?

I'm due a new phone next month, and came in the shop today when my girlfriend was upgrading hers. There is literally nothing I want! I really don't know what to get. I've got an Xperia XZ1 at the moment and it's been fine, but is slow and crashes a lot now and I want a new one. It's just such a conf...

Re: Armed Police Batrider - October Tournament

No worries, Michiel. I'm running it off a PS Classic through Retroarch, so there's likely to be a range of performance and input lag across all of us. Indeed, I'm playing on Vita. Seems quite nippy but not sure if it's same speed as original arcade or not. Probably? Might give it a go on laptop, to...

Destiny 2

So Destiny 2 is now free to play for everyone. Its only the base game, but I'm looking forward to going through the single player campaign, and may have a look online. Any other Destiny n00bs checking it out now its free? Maybe we could organise something?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I am two hours deep in to my first ever 'proper' playthrough of A Link To The Past. I say 'proper' because I've played the prologue probably half a dozen times, but I'm playing with the aim to finish this time. It makes a big difference that I'm playing on a console it's been released for as opposed...

I ruined Nick Cave for myself pretending he was singing about "sweet, hot cum" here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8L2qsMJX20&t=1m0s

After that I couldn't take him seriously any more.
This is... fucking brilliant. Unruin yourself. Nick is Jesus. (because Trent is already God).

I'm desperately trying to find the Nick Cave film, One More Time With Feeling somewhere to stream. Netflix, Prime Video, Sky On Demand, nowhere has it! I think I'm going to have to actually pony up some cash :(

So how's Snakebird treating you, Alex? :)

Oh yeah! I must admit I got sidetracked by The Room games and haven't got any further than stage 8 or 9 at the moment! Still installed though, I'll definitely go back to it.
