Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've just finished stage 5, the Mirror Temple, in Celeste . This game... It's incredible. So often I'll come to these indie games late, and end up feeling a little underwhelmed after all the hype. But as with Hyper Light Drifter recently, this is managing to surpass all my already high expectations....

Re: Retro gaming

Ah yeah it's definitely component then. Yeah my TV doesn't have them for some reason, I had to get a new adapter for the Wii because I was using a component cable and wasn't anywhere to plug them in :(

Annoyingly, it HAS got composite.

Re: Retro gaming

The 360 show has made me want to reconnect my old console up again. It's a launch model that only has the composite TV output. Trouble is, my new TV doesn't have those sockets. Can anyone recommend a decent device that'll convert that to HDMI so I can plug it in the telly? Thanks! EDIT: Or is is com...

I nabbed The Witness on PS4 for £15 in the 'flash' digital sale last night.
Who knows when I'll actually play it though...
I was just watching the Braid Anniversary trailer and I remembered you mentioned you'd bought the Witness ages ago, just wondered if you ever got round to playing it?

Re: Comic Book Chatter

Having a clear out of my comics so selling a few. Happy to post free of charge in the UK. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/693706428155110/ Ah a few of my favorite Batman stories in there. Unfortunately I've already got all of them except the Turtles book, but good luck with the sales :)

Re: Comic Book Chatter

Top 10 - Maybe the most fun Alan Moore comic I've ever read? Cool, good to hear you enjoyed it as I've had it on my list for a while and not got round to reading it yet. Looking forward to it at some point though. I'm stuck in a bit of a classic Spiderman rut at the moment. Not been able to start a...

Re: Games Completed 2020

I beat Celeste today, and I gotta say it lived up to its massive reputation. I really enjoyed the incredible craft that went into every screen — definitely a game where you can feel the love/passion of the people behind it. It's brilliant, isn't it! I'm only on the hotel stage (3?) but it's one of ...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Yeah I'm really happy about Braid, been hoping it'd come to Switch for a while now. Wonder if they might consider The Witness if it does well.

Re: Moving from Digital to Physical, Want to Swap my Steam, GOG, Epic and Origin Accounts for Physical Games

I'm just not really sure how you mean to swap games. So say four different people offer you different games on your physical wish list, would that then mean those four people all had access to your Steam account? I'm just not sure how you're working it, logiscially.

Re: Self-imposed rules on buying games?

Yeah I don't remember the last time I bought a game that wasn't in a sale or found a physical copy cheap somewhere. In fact the vast majority of games I buy are £10 or under, and a lot on Switch have been even lower. I try not to buy games when I have a lot I've not even started, and am being really...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Played a bit of Dead Cells this evening. I'd got totally the wrong impression about this game. I knew what sort of game it was, rogue lite, permanent progression tree etc, but for some reason I thought it was a more futuristic style setting with guns and stuff as well as melee. No idea how I got to ...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Some cracking games coming to PS Now this month.

Hitman 2
Dead Cells
Greedfall

All of which I want to play! Still got Metro Exodus and Dishonored 2 from last month to get through, too.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've been playing Thimbleweed Park. I'm a good way in to it and really enjoying it. Huge fan of the old Lucas adventures, and this could have easily been released in their golden age and fit right in.

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Yeah, I'm surprised anyone is surprised that we can't use PS4 pads on PS5 games. This has never been a thing!

Would be good if we can use PS5 pads on PS4 though, like you can use a PS4 pad on a PS3.

Re: Comic Book Chatter

Just finished reading On The Road To Perdition, which is a collection of three 90 or so page books, written by the original author, concerning some of the 'in between' stories occurring at the same time as the original book. It was good, definitely worth reading it you enjoyed the first book.

Re: Videogame Deals

(Possibly something to do with the lootbox/gambling issues I expect.) I'd have thought it was more likely they're not seeing much revenue from actual game sales any more and see a better option as getting as many people as possible playing it for free so they can make money off in game purchases. M...

Re: My memories with the Xbox 360

Back to the console, I also got introduced to my current favourite Thrash Metal band - Megadeth, through the Xbox 360. Because you could listen to music whilst playing games, my friend put on a metal album while we played Gears of War. I asked who made these awesome songs and my friend said it was ...
