Re: The Toastie Chronicles

Superb thread. I also bought a toastie machine a couple of weeks in to lockdown, having meant to replace my old broken one for years. I'm usually a quick and easy beans or hoops kind of guy, not been very experimental. I do make pizza toasties though. You can buy pizza topper next to the pasta sauce...

Re: 431: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

I don't have a great deal to add to this conversation other than I also was disappointed first time I played it. It didn't feel like the first game, it almost felt like a traditional twin stick shooter in places, and the story absolutely baffled me. Once I accepted it for what it seemed to be, more ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Yeah that's exactly what the world is like, you move between these really nice wooded areas that remind me a lot of the woods I used to play in as a kid to these sandy, almost desert like backdrops with mountains in the distance. Although the game hasn't taken me there yet I'm looking forward to rid...

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns - Cane and Rinse 399

I've been playing through this on the Wii in two player with one of the kids, and it's absolutely hard as nails in places! We've been on the world 7 (factory) boss for the last couple of times we've played it. It seems way harder than the SNES games!

Re: Videogame Deals

Huge sale on the eShop at the moment, probably half my wishlist is discounted. Its making me wish I hadn't spaffed most of my credit in the last few weeks on so many games, as I feel a little guilty about buying anything else new given I've got more games installed that I've not even opened once tha...

Re: What's Out This Week?

Hmm, 69% isn't too bad, but only 40% of reviews recommending the game makes it a harder sell. One to pop on the list for a sale then, perhaps. Shame as it does look nice. I think it's more straight up action platforming than any kind of MetroidVania type thing, too, which surprised me these days.

Fair enough that makes sense cheers for the replies! Looking forward to starting Season 2 anyway once I finish off the podcast :) Loving working my way through the backlog of podcasts anyway so I'll not struggle for listening! Season 2 is great by the way, if you've not played it and enjoyed season...

Oh another good one is the Abes Oddyssey remake. I never finished it as I encountered a bug but I don't think it was a common one.

Re: Vita game recommendations

The PSP games don't have trophy support, no. As for Xcom, it's definitely got a few frame rate issues here and there, but I really enjoyed it on Vita and nothing that ever really spoiled the game for me. Reports vary though so I guess it's down to personal tolerance. I thought it was fine.

Re: All things Telltale

Just too many games to cover I guess, I'd imagine the later seasons are all of 'the big list' for consideration at some point.

I think most, if not all, of these are available on other systems too, but some of my favorites I played on Vita: Salt & Sanctuary Guacamelee Severed The Swapper Tearaway Rayman Origins MGS: Peacewalker (PSP) Ys: The Oath In Felghana (more Zelda/God Of War than JRPG) (PSP) Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PS...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Days Gone is one of those games I spend all day looking forward to being able to play later. I'm really loving it so far. The sense of being a drifter, riding from place to place carrying out bounties or exploring NERO sites is brilliant, and I'm starting to feel almost as attached to my bike as I ...

Re: Videogame News

Well, I can't say I'm not disappointed with Sega's big announcement. Another case of The Internet building far too much hype for something without any idea of what it might be!

Re: 443: Tetris Effect and Tetris 99

Tetris 99: I love Tetris, everyone loves Tetris, and I thought I was OK at it. Until, that is, I played Tetris 99. What a great concept, totally spoiled for me by a complete inability to break in to the top 50. I just don't find it that much fun to play, being constantly and relentlessly destroyed. ...

Re: Games Completed 2020

Most of the weapons are kinda meh, and sometimes it’s a little hard to tell what you can and can’t stand on. But I just like the vibe of it, has some of my favourite game music as well. Yeah, I think I found a weapon I liked very near the beginning and then just saw no reason to change from it. Agr...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I've had a bit of a play of Panel De Pon on the Switch online service, and it's really fun. I don't understand, though, why they put the Japanese rom on there instead of the WW Tetris Attack. Its the same game, we'd just have been able to read the menus... Bizarre, and seemingly pointless (presumabl...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Totally out of the blue the kids grandad bought them Super Mario Party for the Switch this morning. At least, he ordered it and I went down to Smyths to pick it up, so we've been playing that. Seems fun, although has already caused plenty of tantrums and arguments
