Re: Our next podcast recording (1.6.24) - 622: Elden Ring
Aaah I really want to get this finished before the show! Just reached the penultimate boss yesterday, the Godfrey Elden Lord one who transforms in to some beast thing after. I think it's the final boss after that one? The Black Blade chap was a bit of a sticking point, took me about 5 tries to get h...

Re: Summer Games Fest aka "Keigh3"
Nice one. Same for me, always excited for this time of the year. Had to double take to be honest because I was thinking June was ages away!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I noticed Baba Is You was on Android a couple of days ago and grabbed it right away. I've wanted to play it since it came out but for whatever reason never bought it for Switch. The mobile version was a lot cheaper and it's really a perfect game to play on phone. I've made good progress through the ...

Re: Games Completed 2024
It's kind of an odd comparison. You're certainly not the only one to make it, but I think aside from both games featuring little creatures you can tell what to do they're completely different games, really. But yeah, I prefer it to Pikmin too!

Re: Games Completed 2024
I think the original Far Cry (1) on PC is still my favourite. Felt revolutionary at the time, huge open spaces but still a linear game. I remember hiding in bushes from enemies and holding my breath in real life. It felt far less bombastic than later games. Crysis was the 'real' sequel to Far Cry in...

Adam, whilst you're here, we all know what a great success your edits of the Computer Game Show podcast have been. I'm wondering if Leon will let you have a crack at Cane and Rinse

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Nifflas' idiosyncratic platform metroidvania, Knytt Underground. A game that's been a bit lost to time, really. Never got re-released after the PS3 and Wii-U and a really interesting oddity.

Re: 622: Elden Ring
B) This is probably the case for all Souls games but I eventually gave up trying to figure out the game myself and purposely seeked help/tips/walkthroughs etc. I eventually learned that this is a part of the Souls experience, there are often some very obscure and absurd methods to obtain higher qua...

Re: Comic Book Chatter
Did you read the Tom King Batman run? What did you think of it? I've just finished book three - I Am Bane. I don't like the run so far at all, but each book so far has got marginally better so I'm hopeful it does pick up. Perhaps I'm unfairly comparing it to Snyder's New 52 series which was, in over...

Re: Elden Ring
Thanks - I beat him! I made my way up to the forge but then went back as I'd not been to Castle Sol yet and I need the medallion there to access the area underneath Caelid. Home straight now though I think!

Re: Elden Ring
Came back to this recently. I think I'm fairly near the end at 98 hours in or so. Currently stuck on the Fire Giant on the Mountaintops Of The Giants. I've been using the Mimic Tear but still haven't beat him. I read there's an NPC summon somewhere in the arena too but not found it yet. I really wan...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Just finished playing through XCOM 2 for the first time (on Switch). I've owned it for at least a couple of years, and absolutely loved its direct predecessor, UFO: Enemy Unknown on the Amiga and Laser Squad on the Speccy I'd been feeling rather intimidated by it. Although I got off to a terrible s...

Re: Games Completed 2024
I don't know where you heard "vastly improved". I heard "marginally less abysmal". 😄 Well, you know me, happy-go-lucky eternal optimist   Yeah, its playable, still buggy though, had to reload plenty of checkpoints but overall nothing that i felt would make me bin it. N...

Re: Comic Book Chatter
Anyone else out here reading any comics...? Just finished the first deluxe edition of Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire. Enjoying it so far and been on a bit of a Lemire kick recently. I've also been eyeing up either the New 52 omnibus of Swamp Thing or just the Swamp Thing by Scott Snyder (which is ...

Re: Games Completed 2024
I also think 2 has the better gameplay, but the first is still my favourite. How you feel about 1 is how I feel about Infinite. Oh by the way, off topic, but are you still in Birmingham? I thought of you this morning as I was at court in Birmingham and then killed a couple of hours looking round sh...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I just started The Talos Principle again (was about 8 hours in before) on Switch because I really wanted to play something puzzle like and relaxing like The Witness, but that's not available on Switch and I hardly ever get to play on my big consoles any more!
