Re: Dark Souls
Finally finished the game. To anyone who has yet to finish it in time for the podcast take my advice. When facing the final boss, be sure to equip the hornet ring. Also, don't be like me and murder the blacksmith in the undead chapel....ever, unless you want to make an already cruel game more debili...

Re: Dark Souls
If you're looking for consistent access to large titanite shards there's an inexhaustible supply that can be farmed from the black tower knight in sen's fortress on the roof (just after the section where the giant was bombing the floor). I was utilising the golden serpent ring which statistically ra...

Re: Dark Souls
Oh and to clarify, I can't profess at being an expert in any sense of the word. But my difficulty in Ornstein and Smough came from dividing the two bosses to launch an effective assault. When they were in close proximity to one another they complimented each other and I found that they had a wide ar...

Re: Dark Souls
Admittedly, I am playing pre-patch, though its nothing sinister. The sizeable update coupled with the white-hot 0.4meg a second broadband speed we command here in Northumberland has meant I could probably complete the game before the patch would download. However, I have suffered from no easy access...

Re: Dark Souls
Friendly advice. The dark wood grain ring really was a godsend. After struggling for days I followed a short guide. The dark wood grain ring negated the difference in movement speed which seemed to be my main issue. It allows you to manoeuvre around them in such away that it was easier to divide the...

Re: Dark Souls
I need to throw my hands up and seek some advice. I'm absolutely stuck on my first play through at Anor Londo, unable to make it past Smough and Ornstein. I need some help because its probing to be such a ballache that the game has ceased being fun and I'm ready to put it down. The way I see it is t...

Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
I think it's really a question of is this kind of difficulty spike ill considered? In this game certainly the difference between moment to moment gameplay and the final 20 minutes is striking. I'd like to try ad understand why? Like I was saying, I would feel a jubilation, a sense of accomplishment ...

Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
So I've just finished rising, what a hoot, it's definitely time to restore te balance of excitement a little and do something utterly banal like eat some dry toast to come back down to earth for a while. It's not really my type of game, I prefer a game with a slow burn, but it's been thoroughly enjo...

Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Raiden has some rather visible Cuban heels, a bold choice of footwear for a futuristic ninja. I've just started playing revengeance and it's all I can focus on. What an of design choice?! I'm pretty sure this follows on from his design on MGS4 (see below). http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/4439/...

Re: F-Zero - All of it
I have no shame in admitting that f-zero gx is a game that is just too hard for me. I put it down about 7 years ago and I keep picking it up before gently reminding myself of how I utterly failed at doing the story mode. It's still a bit special though....just a bit.

It's been long enough to bump this request again right?

These games are worthy of caning and rinsing.

Re: nVidia Project Shield
In an economy based around supply, demand and competition I'd be worried if we had only one console, basic economics. More competition is healthy. While it does clearly influence the cost of game production it's a trade off in my mind as it promotes innovation in the console market. Though admittedl...

Re: What would you omit from a game?
Why would an option in a menu that you don't have to select because its off by default bother you? It must only annoy you because you've at one time or another you've picked up a controller and it's been inverted and you've had to take 5 seconds out of your day to switch it back, now imagine having...

Re: What would you omit from a game?
I demand that the gaming industry comes together to abolish the 'invert x axis' on cameras controls in option menus...my tiny mind refuses to fathom who would prefer this.
