Re: Videogame Deals

Destiny pre-order on PS4 and Xbox-One plus headset plus t-shirt is £45 on tesco.com with free delivery, and they're doing a £5 voucher code for any games over £35 so it's actually £40. You can also use their Clubcard boost vouchers on it, but I don't shop there so not sure how they work.

Re: Games Completed 2014

Lego Lord of the Rings. One big last blast to get through the third film sections. Still not sure about it. Generally fun but I think the latter films are a bit too serious for it to gel in Lego format.

Re: Android and iOS Gaming

Wow. Last post here was from me in March, bigging up Trials Frontier on iOS, which is also the background to this post, but maybe a useful tip for anyone suffering from apps crashing on their iPhone / iPad as soon as you click their icon... Trials Frontier tells me the last time I played was 52 days...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Gave Crimsonland a go on PS4 today. It's a recent port of the old PC game, and is a free download, hidden inside the full price game preview screen. I think you get a bit of the quest before you pay, and survival mode, which is where the real fun lies. It's as simple as hell. Green screen, tiny char...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Exactly the same here. I've played it in hour bursts since I got my PS4 at Christmas. Might give it some welly and get shot of it as soon as the Destiny Beta is done... I don't normally do day one but this might be an exception. Taking up all my limited gaming time and I love it. Really started noti...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Thanks for the Merc Kings tip earlier Leon. Having spent an age in Minecraft recently I've got no problem with a bit of crafting! Minecraft aside, I'm 28% complete on Lego Lord of the Rings, so I should finish the main story on my next decent run at it and can put that one to bed!

Re: Destiny

Ooh, 14GB download. Ain't going to be playing Destiny tonight! Signed in on the Bungie site with my PSN account earlier without any problem to access my codes. Only just able to redeem one on PSN though. Anyway, reason for the post was to say I've got two more European PS4 codes that I'll gladly sha...

Re: Videogame Deals

Wouldn't normally stick an iOS game in here, but Frozen Synapse is a bit special on iPad and is currently reduced from £6.99 to 69p.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I could be a lot worse off than colourblind, and it's very rare that it actually comes into play, so I don't generally mention it, but in design terms there's absolutely no need to compound the problem. Nice to know I'm not alone though. And in terms of playing, Mercenary Kings on PS4 today. No excu...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I stopped playing Burnout Paradise today. As I posted in the podcast thread, I had a blast but could see the end coming, which happened around 18 hours in. It wasn't strictly for the reasons I predicted though. Yes, I'd pretty much had my fill by then, given the ton of PS4 stuff I've still got to pl...

Re: Resogun

Not happy about that scoreboard reset. The 400k I got on my quick tryout of the update looks pitiful below Leon's score on my leaderboard. Need to sort that out again! Have to say it doesn't feel quite as responsive since the update though. I played it a lot a few months ago, and maybe it's just mus...

Is that reliable? Runkeeper is generally good, and covers cycling too, but today - and not for the first time - after 1.2 miles it decided I'd done 7. By 4 miles, I was at 12, and running sub 2 minute miles. If I didn't have so much history in it, I'd have switched long ago.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've also enjoyed a few hours in Strider on PS4. So glad I simply never got around to buying it in the sale last month! I remember being hugely impressed by the original Strider and from memory this played similar. I had a hugely frustrating time with the first elite guard - died several times, and ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've given the UFC demo on PS4 a good old whack. It looks pretty enough, though nothing groundbreaking. And the standing up bits are really satisfying once you get your head around the controls; actually, they quickly became very intuitive. That said, I'm still not sure if it's being pitched as a si...

I work for a big Japanese electronics company. Unfortunately a step in the right direction is the best you can ever hope for, no matter how obvious taking a leap might be for the rest of the world.

Re: Our next podcast recording: Burnout Paradise

As I've mentioned elsewhere on the forum, I came to Burnout Paradise very late; a couple of weeks ago, in fact! It's sat on my PS3 hard drive since I joined PS+ in anticipation of my PS4 coming last Christmas, and despite Burnouts 1, 2, 3 and Legends on PSP being day one purchases at the time, I had...

Re: Geek Fitness

I started running and cycling in January last year. I was inspired by pictures of me playing in my band and not liking what I saw - the Smash Hits centre spread had no chance of happening any more! I now run four or six miles, or cycle eighteen, in my lunch break every day, then do a nine mile of ha...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've been playing GRID 2 on and off since I joined PS+ just before Christmas and it was a freebie. Didn't grip me like the first did, but I'm encouraged by your impressions, Scrustle, and hope to have a go at that myself too soon. I'm now eleven hours into Burnout Paradise, also care of PS+, in anti...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Was kind of enjoying the Battlefield Hardline beta on PS4 despite Battlefield not really being my cup of tea; I prefer the selfish meathead fix that Call of Duty provides when I'm in that kind of mood! However, having finally caught up with the latest Burnout podcast, I was inspired to charge up my ...
