Re: Nex Machina

Oh, you're not missing much. The video is not particularly well edited or anything, just taken straight from the PS4's recording software. On the other hand, a lot of the secrets are a bit hard to find, especially on the later stages. So you might want to look them up if you're seriously considering...

Re: Nex Machina

I recently went back to this game in order to improve my Arcade Rookie score. I did it! Perseverance paid off. I collected everything and never lost the human combo, so this was a borderline perfect run. Number 10 in the world at the time of writing. The only room left for improvement would be to sh...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

To me, (J)RPGs should be about pure escapism, more so than any other genre. I want to follow larger-than-life characters on their perilous journey through breathtakingly beautiful landscapes while listening to a grandiose orchestral score. Not trying to memorize entire spreadsheets of information ju...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

After today's Nintendo Direct trying to make sense of Xenoblade Chronicles 2's numerous systems and mechanical intricacies, I have to admit that the game is leaving me cold. I'll probably end up buying it, but I really think that Monolith Soft could gain from evaluating the difference between depth ...

still the same brilliant concept wrapped in a game which frustratingly never managed to fulfil on it's promises. There are some neat puzzles, but it's never difficult and never particularly exciting.
This pretty much sums up my Scribblenauts experience as well...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I wouldn't say it surprised me in the sense that I couldn't believe how someone could make such a statement or anything. I certainly understand how boss battles can frustrate some people, especially challenging ones. I was just curious as to your reasoning and thought this would make for an interest...

Re: Official Video Game Guides & Art Books

Very happy to report that The Art of Overwatch is definitely worth buying. Great print quality, fantastic artworks, and full of interesting tidbits of information. One of the very best coffee table books in my collection.

I'm generally gravitating away from games with boss fights
Oh, really? Care to elaborate a bit on why that is? Genuinely curious.

Noooooo!

Both Resogun and ND are some of my favorite titles in the genre. Very sad to hear about this... :(

Is there a dedicated Housemarque CaR episode on the horizon, at least?

Re: Videogame Deals

I saw that Matterfall was being discounted as well. Did anyone play this? Kinda surprised that I haven't heard anything about it considering how many Housemarque fans we have around here.

Has anyone got the Bloodborne art book? I think it's half in English half in Japanese. It looks a bit smaller than the Souls Design Works books so just wondering whether it's worth the cost.
Do you mean the Official Artworks? If so, check last page...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

The SotC remake may "only" be composed of a fresh new coat of paint on top of the old game, but damn if that trailer didn't make me smile. If there's a classic that deserves this kind of attention, then it's probably this one. Looking forward to it. I love how they put together a one-minute long tra...

Re: The Witcher III: Wild Hunt - Cane and Rinse 292

Good episode. I was wondering if you were going to take the easy way out and simply leave out the discussion on gender dynamics that took place in the original thread completely, but I was very pleasantly surprised to hear you summarize both sides of the issue without editorializing. Along with your...

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

The GameCube controller will probably always remain my favorite, but it does have a very specialized design which makes it rather ill-suited for certain genres such as shooters. With that said, I greatly appreciate the efforts console manufacturers have made to improve on their controller designs ov...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Everything GameCube is a win in my book.

The only question I have is: What is it going to be used for? All signs are pointing towards NGC Virtual Console being added in the future, so that'd be a safe bet.

PS: Also, props to the author for correctly labeling it "the best controller ever made". :P

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Your best bet would probably be to use a JPN PSN account and download it as a PS1 classic on PS3, as far as I can tell.

Re: Videogame News

NGB runs on 480p, so no I don't think so. It's probably just a resolution bump.
