Re: Shmups

Any recommendations on PS4? Only one I have really is Astebreed on that which I'm saving. I've seen Jamestown mentioned, any good? Apologies if you already have any of those, I can't remember if you ever said so. My PS4 shmups folder includes the following that I would recommend: Vertical : Ikaruga...

Re: Shmups

DoDonPachi Resurrection is intense. I'm starting to get more involved in the different ships and styles and the intricacies of the combo system, and it's quite the experience. I'm at the point where I'm seeing some actual improvements with every new run, which is very satisfying. Kicking myself for ...

Re: Shmups

Aaaah okay, now that makes perfect sense. Thank you very much. I was staring at the graph for a good five minutes asking myself "but what exactly do those vertical & horizontal bars represent??". So basically, while the input covers a 360 degrees angle, the physical inner workings of the arcade stic...

Re: Shmups

At the risk of outing myself as a complete imbecile, I don't really understand the logic behind the partitioning on the graphic. Shouldn't the yellow middle part (is that the deadzone?) be round? And if it were round, wouldn't all 8 other sections automatically be of the same size? :? Maybe arcade s...

Re: Shmups

I think the newer versions of the F500 come with an additional octagonal gate, and I plan on installing it sooner rather than later. I adore it on the GC pad. It's great to be able to lock into both straights and diagonals, but it also allows for smoother quasi-circular motions than a square or diam...

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

the problem we have, generally, is that we want to play all the new hot games out week per week rather than scrolling through a bunch of "old stuff" in a similar fashion to netflix. As a collective, we need to stop acting like a game isn't worth playing because it's been out for more than a month. ...

Re: Shmups

I'd just go for it, myself. Get it from amazon or something so you can send it back if you're not happy. Thanks, man. I think that's what I'll do. I was hesitant to go for the regular F500 considering its standard components were supposed to be of below average quality (and I wasn't looking forward...

Re: Shmups

...Well, I'm still eyeing the F500. At least this guy on the shmups forum seems pretty happy with his purchase. My initial plan was to buy a replacement LS-32 and put it in there, plus maybe some Sanwa buttons while I'm at it. Input lag is less than ideal, but I doubt I would be too bothered by it u...

Re: Our Patreon

It’s not always all Jesus juice and cupcakes, just privately acknowledge it and move on. I hear you, but I think the working assumption here is that folks like this aren't honest actors and are using coded language tied to wider cultural issues that end up causing actual harm to people. It can be a...

Re: Shmups

That's amazing. I'm gonna have to pounce on that while it's still available as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.

It's 2019 and I'm planning DLC purchases of JP only games on my 360, excellent.

Futari 1.5 is a 10.

Futari Black Label is about a 17.
Holy shit, the BL DLC is still available on the EU marketplace, even though the game itself isn't?!
What in the hell?! :o

It doesn't throw out any error message like with the DDPR DLC or anything... Could it really be that easy?

Re: Shmups

That's too bad about the F500. It would have been perfect for me to have a universal stick compatible with the 360, PS4, Switch & PC. I don't have the budget to buy one for every console nor the technical know-how to start building one completely from scratch. :( Btw, on a scale of 1 to 10, how dope...

Re: Shmups

I want an arcade stick pretty badly now. Ideally cheap and compatible with Switch and PS4... Same here. Been looking up a bunch of different arcade sticks these past few days. Keeping in mind that I don't actually own one, I've heard good things about the Mayflash F500 . It's not supposed to be the...

Re: Shmups

To be honest, I'm really looking for something to make the most of my current panel, though. Of course, that makes sense. All I'm saying is that if I was super into shmups, had the space and could afford it, I would probably make myself a little dedicated shmup nest where I would sit closer to the ...

Re: Shmups

As it is, though, it looks like seven hundred quid or something for a stand that will rotate a 55" telly. That obviously isn't happening. I could get a rotating bracket for fifty quid but I don't want to drill into that wall because it's right above a fireplace, wouldn't even fit. THE DREAM IS DEAD...

The pre orders for the special editions on GAME.co.uk say there already sold out, doers anyone know if they even went live?
I don't know about GAME, but I haven't seen any activity whatsoever on my end. I would assume that's just a placeholder.

Re: Death Stranding

The trailer gave me goosebumps. You should watch it. Oh c'mon mate, don't do this to me now! :P My best experiences with video games have usually come from knowing very little about individual titles beforehand. And conversely, most of my biggest disappointments have been massively anticipated titl...
