Re: "Classic" Catch Up

Oh I can think of a fair few classics that I have never touched but would love to if I got the time. Katamari Damacy - The original never got released in Europe, which always irritated me! We Love Katamari is one of my favourite PS2 titles and I would love to go back to where it all started. Prince ...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

It was doubtful that I was going to be the only one to have suggested that particular title :)

Eagerly looking forward to Volume 6 by the way, no matter what titles you have got planned for it. Will try and play along if time and money permits!

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

Since I just played it, I would suggest Playdead's Inside. Now that is a title sure to generate a lot of discussion. Disturbing yet beautiful in its bleakness, fascinating little game.

Re: Games completed 2016

Inside (PS4) Wow, talk about short and sweet. This game did so much with such little playtime. It was a game I was determined not to have spoiled for me and I only got tempted to look online for help with a puzzle once (ashamed to say the solution was pretty obvious in hindsight, doh!). Every other ...

Re: Retro gaming

I do agree with you, especially as I do have kids on my front lawn playing Call of Duty. Why they can't do that at their home, I'll never know... :D If the Switch really takes off, kids playing Call of Duty on your lawn will become more likely than you think! :) As far as playing retro stuff nowada...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Reading that article reminds me how long it takes for common sense to trickle its way into big organisations. Working for a big university, the number of meetings and teams that very simple decisions need to run through before being implemented... geez! Aye, work for a university myself and the amo...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Funny you should say that: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2016-11-22-no-more-dlc-that-gamers-have-to-buy-for-the-full-experience-ubisoft This is definitely encouraging to hear. So much of Trials Fusion is just locked away unless you pay up that it felt like I bought one third of a game inste...

Re: Retro gaming

In regards to how gaming today compares to that of the past, I reckon that things have changed in a lot of ways some for the better, some for the worse. One thing that always slightly miffs me is the complaint that "games I played as a child were so much more original and magical, nowadays it i...

Re: Unconventional methods

Pokemon tends to be the series where I have certain quirks when playing it. One thing I have been doing over the years is to build a team of 6 pokemon for every generation. I have full teams for gens 1, 5 and 6 and will be going with a full team of new monsters for my eventual Sun and Moon playthrou...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Seeing as I was a fan of Trials for Xbox 360 I thought I would try its follow up Trials Fusion for the PS4. Enjoyed it at first but the difficulty spike is like a brick wall. In the 3rd set of challenges, there is a level where I need to drive off a construction pipe suspended by a crane to continue...

Re: Games completed 2016

I finished Arkham City a few days ago and I feel that it is definitely a worthy follow up to Asylum. A lot of the Rogue's Gallery got some pretty good representation in this one, my particular favourites being Penguin, Mr Freeze and Hugo Strange. The ending and final battle was much better than the ...

Re: Golden Joysticks 2016 - Winners

Firewatch winning the best Indie reward has reminded me that I still need to play that someday. Always been interested since seeing the first trailers for it. Limited Run games recently announced they'll be doing a physical release of them sometime next year. And I should have clarified my Zelda st...

Re: Golden Joysticks 2016 - Winners

Firewatch winning the best Indie reward has reminded me that I still need to play that someday. Always been interested since seeing the first trailers for it. As for Twilight princess HD winning the best Nintendo title, it really does go to show the barren landscape that is the Wii U library of 2016...

Re: Rise of the Far-Right Worldwide

Speaking of blame though I'd like to point another thing that will be controversial, but I'd like to talk about the identitary left or as I like to call them "post-modern left" this a left that came out after the cold war and it's what many left parties adopted from the 90's ownard, this vi...

Re: Rise of the Far-Right Worldwide

To no one's surprise, Donald Trump, the man who said he was going to tackle corporate greed and corruption in Washington is stocking his government with lobbyists of the industries they are supposed to regulate. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/12/us/politics/trump-campaigned-against-lobbyists-now-the...

Re: Rise of the Far-Right Worldwide

I was gobsmacked when I heard the news this morning that Trump got elected. This trend of Far Right politics worldwide is very concerning. I was so lucky to leave the UK before Brexit happened, I have got in contact with old friends just to make sure they have not being hassled for being of a differ...

Re: Licensed Games You're Shocked Haven't Been Made Yet

. Alternately you can make a Clark Kent game, where the challenge lies is trying to pass yourself off as human, and not some superpowered God. That could actually be a really good idea! You could be going around the world as an undercover journalist but you have to use your superpowers without anyo...

Re: Licensed Games You're Shocked Haven't Been Made Yet

Huh, good point about Superman basically being a god, which makes him a bit of a headache to craft a game around and give the player some actual challenge. Maybe to get around that, have the game initially be set in Metropolis but travel to more distant worlds where you will be facing more intimidat...

Congrats on finishing 3D Land, KissMammal! Hope I get to pluck up the courage one day and finish off the last few levels myself. I have returned to Gotham with Arkham City and I am really digging it so far. Fun to move around the world and Cockney Penguin is a true delight. Catwoman is fun as hell t...

Re: Licensed Games You're Shocked Haven't Been Made Yet

I know Spider-Man is coming, but a decent comic book movie game (not including the lego tie ins or Rocksteady's Batman) Iron Man is 8 years old now, and to the best of my recollection, both iron man games are bad, the hulk game is bad, and that captain america game is mediocre at best. Seems real e...
