Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I had the same issue - you can do it! In fact, when I finally beat the last level on the lowest setting, I then blazed through the intermediate setting (which was a TON of fun), only to get stuck on the last level again. Still haven't beaten it (but have stopped trying obvs). Yeah I tend to flit in...

I've also played through Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Forces for the Twitch channel (and youtube). If you fancy having something to stare at whilst on the toilet or something then have a look! www.youtube.com/caneandrinse Good stuff! Been watching the Sonic streams on YouTube alright, really enjoying you goin...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
you can do it! Journey Mode destroyed me too, but I eventually came out on top. on the other hand, I’ve still yet to get an A ranking in the clear-40-lines-as-fast-as-possible challenge. I thought I’d done it once I broke the 2-minute mark, but the game only taunted me with a measly B. hmph. just c...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Have hit a bit of a brick wall with both Tetris Effect and Yooka-Laylee and the impossible Lair. I am on the second last level of Tetris Effect in Journey Mode and it is absolutely kicking my arse. I can do 20 lines but after that it just gets too fast and I just break down. The scary thing is that ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
After many, many weekends, I’ve beaten Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past for 3DS. Pretty great game, especially if you’re already a fan of the saga and if you have patience for slow games, because the pacing in this one is glacial  Even so, I’d say it's my favorite one from all...

Yep, not too hard of one but glad someone got it! Also, being extra busy lately so kind of forgot about this thread so sorry for taking so long to answer!

Re: I am going to clear my backlog and try and keep a record here
I think Final Fantasy III is gonna be one I take off the list without finishing it. Mainly because its incredibly slow, somewhat boring, and really quite obtuse. I think if you are to actually enjoy your time going through your backlog, this is essential to do. If you are not enjoying a game and fe...

Re: 2019 in Gaming and your Game of the Year
If we are not being strict in regards to the game being released in 2019 to count as GOTY then mine simply has to be Yakuza 0. Story, characters, gameplay, music, humour, this game got it all right. This is up there as one of the best games I have played this decade, never mind the year. I am fully ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I just started up Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair and I have to say that I am properly loving it right now. For the most part, I actually dug the original Yooka-Laylee but this is so much more consistent in its quality. The controls are extremely tight and rolling through enemies and jumping ou...

Re: Well Twitter has been interesting today hasn't it.
Fun story, we also received an email last weekend admonishing (or in his words, “correcting”) us for including the post (forgive me but I forget who made the obviously valid point) which suggested that the US dropping nuclear bombs on Japanese civilians wasn’t a great thing to do. So yeah, even rea...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Happy to see someone new jump on board the series. The best place to go after 0 is probably Kiwami 1, and then playing through the series in chronological order. With the remasters of the PS3 games coming out, it's possible to play the whole series on PS4. That is, if you count the Kiwami remakes a...

Re: Well Twitter has been interesting today hasn't it.
Was wondering what game they had covered which got some people in a tizzy, seen it was MGSV. Oh, it was a particularly "political" episode? Well the Metal Gear games do deal with the military industrial complex so I was expecting the "far leftists" at Cane and Rinse to discuss an...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
So after the behemoth that was Yakuza 0, I decided to try the demos for other entries to see what the rest of the series has to offer. First, Kiwami 2. It is really cool to see Sotenbori change from its depiction in 0 and the little bit of story I seen was definitely enough for me to want to check o...

Three of my suggestions got turned into shows a year after I suggested them so I think your odds are a bit higher than you expect. I was shocked that they were considered so quickly.

Re: Your most played game this year
It's amazing really, and testament to what a great series it is, that I hated the club management stuff and pocket racing and still absolutely loved the game, whereas you've spent hours and hours enjoying it! For me it was the main story that was the attraction, but there really is something for ev...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
In between bouts of Yakuza 0, been trying some demos on the PS4. Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom: Very pretty metroidvania with charming characters and some fun exploration and movement. The frog transformation made the demo alone! Would definitely like to try the full game at some point in the f...

Re: Your most played game this year
Have not even finished it but Yakuza 0 has easily been my most played game this year. 63 hours in and just at Chapter 11 which I feel is far from the end. Been spending ages pocket car racing, becoming a real estate magnate and managing a hostess club. God, this game has been an absolute delight, ev...
