Re: Videogame News

I too hadn't heard of Cyber Shadow... but now I'm glad I had!

I would be curious to see a modern interpretation of Splatterhouse, using a similar vintage aesthetic.

Re: What's Out This Week?

It's funny watching the generational circle rotate, as now I'm bitching about the next generation of game streaming! I'm becoming very self-aware of my own attitudes towards the direction technology is taking, and I get the feeling the younger generation will find me stuffy, old, and out of touch. S...

Re: Videogame News

There just isn't that much time or money! To be fair, 90% of your time and money is apparently being poured into your sumptuous little cabinets, so that won't leave much wiggle room for compulsively refreshing IGN all day or whatever it is normal video game players do to stay on top of things these...

Re: Videogame News

A lot of stuff, with Google and Apple and Sony and Epic and Steam sort of make me want to disappear into a bunker for five years and come out when the smoke has cleared. I think that might be the best option! I think I'm doing that default now: there's a huge delay between when games are released a...

Re: What's Out This Week?

My 38 year old playing ass, as well as other body parts, also feels the same way! It's a pretty chill body overall. But it's strange when people in my immediate vicinity want me to be more open. I will tell them I'm building a cabinet. They will say "nice, what kind?". I will say "you...

Re: Videogame News

While the Apple Arcade announcement stirred indifference in me, I will give some credit for not going the streaming only route like Stadia. It makes it a more attractive service by comparison, with the option to download. Not mind-blowing stuff, and certainly not innovative, but it's a smarter marke...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I'd like to see jetpacks, and the ability to rewind time in the real world. Anything short of that is a complete failure.

I take you’re going update your cabinet thread with your results and hard work ??
Hmmm... theoretically? If I can figure out a new way to link photos, then yeah.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

In between coats of paint (and a state election, to which the results are expected, but still disappointing), I've been playing Batsugun. This PCB is using according to System 16 (an excellent resource) Toaplan version 2 hardware , which just like Dogyuun and V-V means there's a few graphical issues...

Re: Videogame News

Judgment will apparently not be delayed in the West , according to Siliconera, although some changes will be made to the character's voice and in-game model. Good news... I think? Going by Suruga-ya, the game is still available to purchase in Japan, so I have to assume what changes needed to be mad...

Re: Google Stadia

Hmmm... let’s say in an ideal world where internet connections on a global scale are flawless, all you be playing is Doom. At this stage in tech, a typewriter could play Doom. Content is king to the hardcore, and irrelevant to the mainstream. If anyone could do it, it would be Google. To keep it pos...

Re: Videogame News

I don't think the issue for discussion should be how good or bad you felt Cage's games were but what Sony has done. Advertising and selling games as 'Only on PlayStation' then seeing them on PC means Sony's marketing can no longer be trusted. I hope Sony/PlayStation receive a lot of complaints beca...

Re: Google Stadia

At the rich end of town, Stadia will do fine. In many others parts of the globe, the infrastructure just doesn't exist. I'm going to outright say I'm biased, but after a £1.28bn fine for antitrust practices , I kinda don't care for Google to succeed. It's a world of great inequality, and my personal...

Re: Your dream licensed videogame?

Somehow, I could see a Dalek dating sim on Steam or Itchio one day... It's taken me a while to think up a dream licensed videogame, but after learning about the existence of the 2018 " movie " The Trump Prophesy , that would be my pick. No one said it had to be a good dream: nightmares tec...
