Re: 2019 in Gaming and your Game of the Year

I played Danganronpa 1 & 2 for the first time and loved them, this type of visual novel/point and click are right up my alley. Truberbrook was also, but I think it was largely overlooked this year, as were State of Mind (I played on Switch), Daedalus: The Return of Golden Jazz (a Jake Hunter prequel...

Re: Need for Speed: Heat and the Conversation Around Racing Games

Completely agree with the original poster.

I feel like the "always online, open world experience" has killed track design for racing games. There's no personality now, it's just generic cities to roam around it.

I really miss arcade racers.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Glad you're enjoying it! I've had PSVR since launch, and while I don't use it anywhere near as much as I'd like to, I've always been really impressed with it. The library of games is now really strong. Moss, Astrobot, Beat Saber, Blood & Truth, Tetris Effect, Rez Infinite, Superhot, Skyrim, Wipeout...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Well I moved continents, moved countries and got a PSVR for my birthday. I love it. Like I really, genuinely love it. Battlezone is a blast, I just finished Loading Human (okay) and I've been looking at importing some horror games from the UK that aren't released in NA for VR. Not sorry about the in...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

Two suggestions: Stick it to the Man Flipping Death Same publisher. Both on PS4 and on Steam. They're very reminiscent of Tim Schaeffer's games in the style of humour. Sometimes it's quite dry, sometimes it's quite silly. Light puzzles/platforming. If you haven't checked them out, I recommend them.

Triads. People are claiming they were hired by the government to make the protesters afraid. There have been multiple photos of the police standing and talking with the Triads, and now people are accusing the police of being in cahoots with them. There's video of police leaving the station where the...

I picked up Dimension Drive last week, and I think I've finally found a game that clicks with me.

It's sort of like Ikaruga.....in a way, except instead of changing colours, you jump from one side of the screen to the other.

I picked it up on a whim in HK last week and it's been a happy surprise.

Re: Hong Kong

I lived in China for about six years and it was pretty much the greatest time of my life up to that point, certainly changed me forever and I miss a lot about it almost every single day. What part of China were you in? I've been to Shenzhen, across the border, and to Nanjing (which was beautiful) a...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

They just announced yesterday that Ikaruga is getting a physical release in the West. :| I did a thorough sweep of the net looking for any concrete news on a physical release before I bought the digital version. I swear they were waiting for the money to leave my account before signing the damn con...

I've been playing World of Final Fantasy, and it is much, *much* better than I expected.

I would even go so far as to say this should have been the real FF15.

Has anyone else picked up RXN Raijin?

I think it's available digitally overseas. I've been picking up more shooters here......trying to get better and mostly failing.

Hong Kong

Hey everyone. Please keep HK in your thoughts right now - Wednesday was awful. Carrie Lam, the leader of HK blamed the police brutality (which was severe) on protestors. The extradition bill (which is the cause of the whole issue) has been suspended, but not canceled. People came out today for Fathe...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Total fucking rubbish that was. SMT V is vapourware at this point, and it was the bloody game I bought my Switch for. Add a digital only Mana collection and the whole thing was just a massive disappointment.

Re: 373: Final Fantasy X

The thing I liked about FFX is the lack of the open map. Perhaps this is one of the most controversial aspects of the game, compared to older titles in the series but for me it really works. The whole idea of the game is that you're on a road trip, going from place to place for Yuna to be able to co...

I always thought a Dr Who point click adventure would be a good fit for the licence. Bonus points if the story spans the different eras of the show.
I like this idea a lot.
