Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

I'm pretty sure Xenogears has been suggested, but has anyone suggested the Xenosaga games on PS2?

I'm just listening to the MGS 4 podcast and I'm curious as to how you'll react to Xenosaga's cutscenes, because they're also quite long.

Re: Golden Joysticks 2016 - Winners

Firewatch winning the best Indie reward has reminded me that I still need to play that someday. Always been interested since seeing the first trailers for it. Limited Run games recently announced they'll be doing a physical release of them sometime next year. And I should have clarified my Zelda st...

Re: The Horror Genre

I have a few to suggest Ku-on on PS2, another Japanese horror game. Cursed Mountain on Wii, a really atomospheric horror game set in Tibet. Siren Blood Curse on PS3, a remake of the original Siren game on PS2. Calling on Wii, another Japanese horror game. Kholat on PS4/PC, a European horror game whe...

Re: Golden Joysticks 2016 - Winners

Honestly, I almost think Zelda is a more valuable franchise for Nintendo than Mario is.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I'm going through Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex again. (The movie trailer prompted me)

Probably haven't watched it in about ten years and I think I'm "ready" for it now, if that makes sense.

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

I'm going to Seoul tomorrow and they might have them there. I'll take a look.

Edit - No luck, sorry. The place I thought would have them, didn't.

Re: Retro gaming

Does anyone know a good Commodore 64 emulator? I've tried a couple of them, but not had much success.

I watched the Young Ones for the first time recently.

Now I'm making my way through It's Gary Shandling's Show.

I was actually pretty happy with the collection as they are all games that are kind of perfect for playing on the go.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm in the middle of Wasteland 2 (which I really like) but I also got the Sega 3DS collection yesterday (which is fun!) and Aragami, which I am kind of eager to start, because I really miss stealth ninja games.

Re: Rise of the Far-Right Worldwide

FIrst thing I thought of was that Michael Moore video. You have an entire middle class that has been stomped down since Reagan got elected - by both parties. Obama promised hope and change, yet when the banks almost destroyed the world economy and ruined hundreds of thousands of people in the US.......

Re: Licensed Games You're Shocked Haven't Been Made Yet

I was surprised there was no PS2 He-Man game in North America for the revival in the early 2000s. Same with Thunder Cats. Also surprised there hasn't been an attempt to do an isometric style (think Wasteland 2 or Diablo) version of a Fighting Fantasy game. The DS version of Warlock of FIretop Mounta...

I was just curious. With emulation it's easier to cover them, but I wasn't sure how much interest there was from the group.

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

I think Pool of Radiance would be the best one to play, honestly.

It's the oldest and it's bound to seem primitive today, but I still think it has the best story.

I was just curious. Are any of the old C64 RPGs on the list? (Wasteland, Battletech, Phantasie, Bard's Tale etc)

I'd like to see either Atlus or NISA acquire Suikoden, but it's a pipedream.

Just out of curiosity, have any of the old SSI D&D games been suggested? They're on GOG now I believe.

Re: What games were you not allowed to play/do you not let your kids play?

Everything for me was fair game - but I was playing on the C64 so there was nothing particularly salacious back then, other than my copy of a Breakout clone that had a naughty picture revealed behind it as you played - but they didn't know I had that! As for my kids, it's definitely a matter of payi...

I .... might double dip for this. I played 999 when it came out and really, really enjoyed it.

Strange it's only coming with 2 of the 3 games though.

Re: The "Introduce yourself" thread

Hello, I'm named after a Stephen King book.

I teach English overseas. I teach adults, which is great!

I've been gaming since the days of the Commodore systems, and I like RPGs.

Tomorrow I'm going to Japan for Halloween! :D
