Re: Mad Max

I'm a bit late to the party, having only just listened to the podcast in the past couple of days on this one! Just wanted to add that I picked up the game only due to the fact that I saw it on the forthcoming C&R List early this year, but never quite got round to playing it in time. However sinc...

Re: Fallout 4 - What Should I Do?

Well in the end I decided to start again. It's had an interesting response, the reviews were all generally very positive but it does seem that anecdotally at least, most people think it's nowhere near as good as 3 or New Vegas. Graphically it looks fine to me, but that's on a mega-expensive PC with ...

Fallout 4 - What Should I Do?

Hi folks, Bit of a dilemma - I played about 18 hours of Fallout 4 when it came out and haven't touched it since. I want to get back into it and give it the time it deserves now, but I'm not sure if I should start all over again or continue from where I left off. What would you do? Pros for continuin...

Re: Beyond Good & Evil

This was a game I picked up back on the PS2 back in 2004 or 2005. I don't recall much about why I'd bought it now, although looking back it appears it was on an Official Playstation Magazine Demo disc, so that was probably what what inspired me as I was an avid purchaser and reader of that magazine ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I’ve been playing a lot of Player Unknowns Battlegrounds on Steam the past few weeks, with various mates. It’s ok as a single-player game but really comes to the fore when there’s a team of you on voice chat. Presume you’ve all heard of it by now as it’s really taken off but if not, basically 100 pe...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

I think pretty much all of the Sierra games - old and new - are on the long list. I got to be honest though there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest among the team. For what it's worth, I would love a few Sierra episodes. Police Quest and Space Quest game were my favourite games when i was growin...

Re: WordPress / Blogging sites?

Wordpress is definitely a good place to start - I also particularly like the analysis on the backend that can show you number of hits on the site and what country of the world they came from.... it draws graphs and all kinds of geeky things that are pretty cool if you're into that kind of thing! I t...

Also in Surrey here but inside the M25 closer to Sutton. In fact my area is one of the very few in the country which is already Lib Dem, pleasing as although I've never really been into politics in the past, I have always thought of myself as more of a Lib Dem than either Labour or Tory.

Re: The Witcher III: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3. As previously noted, I absolutely adored Witcher 2, thought it was one of the best games I've played since classic RPGs as Final Fantasy 7, and the first Mass Effect. Those 2 games would easily slot into my personal top 10 games of all time. It must be said that The Witcher 3 is a mon...

Re: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

I loved The Witcher 2. It was the first game in a long long time that I felt really involved with the story-line, to the point where it was taking over my every day thoughts. I remember remarking to a friend at the time of playing it - it's the first game that I've played for nearly 20 years that ha...

Re: Rise of the Far-Right Worldwide

I must admit, i am still obsessed daily with keeping up with what is going on in the world. So much so that my love of music, and video games, have all fallen by the wayside. The first thing I read when I wake up, and the last things I read when i fall asleep, all tend to be from reddit/r/politics. ...

Fire Pro Wrestling

I wasn't sure whether to put this post in the videogame or "other" forum but here goes... Anyone into Wrestling? I'm well aware of all the insults you can throw at me but it's actually a great soap opera, yes of course it's not "real" but then throwing yourself off a 30ft cage on...

Re: Videogame Deals

The Humble Monthly Bundle has Total War: Warhammer this month. Seems a great deal. I got Dragons Dogma on this deal a couple of months ago and missed out on xcom2 this month. Looks like it's worth subbing and forgetting about until the games flow into your inbox each month! (...and add to your never...

Well, I've spent the past 7 days in Trump Land and it's been quite interesting. Most people I've spoke to, who mostly have been taxi drivers and warehouse workers, are all trying to see the positive side of things. They've all said "Well, he's been a good businessman and he wants the best for t...

Re: Rise of the Far-Right Worldwide

I have to say that for the first 37 years of my life I haven't given a shit about politics. But, since the Brexit referendum, it's been close to my thoughts, and in the past few months, been hardly all I've thought about. My normal day these days consists of wake up, read about Brexit/Trump, Work, r...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Not sure if this song counts as it's an actual song as opposed to a piece of music... But as far as I can tell this was written specifically for the Crusader Kings II soundtrack, and then I discovered it recently through playing Cities:Skylines, on the in-game "radio" which just seems to p...

Currently playing a bit of Cities:Skylines, it's a great city-building simulator and everything that EA/Maxis' 2013 SimCity should have been... the less said about that game, the better! As it is, I am currently happily building bus routes and underground lines for all my little sims to get to work ...
