Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

The first 3 minutes or so of this video, is a great piece from the Gorgrond area of the World Of Warcraft: Warlords Of Draenor Expansion. I love this as it's a slightly odd time signature but incredibly easy to hum and sing along to. Me and the wife will both be signing along merrily to this wheneve...

Re: 4K Gaming

Yes so I'm already at 2560x1440 with a 27" monitor on my PC... I love it but want MORE! :) I've read things saying the PS4 Pro isn't worth it right now as there's not all that much difference to existing games... but that's obvious, I'm not expecting big changes to games that are already out, i...

4K Gaming

Hi folks, So I finally splashed out on a 49" 4K TV in the Black Friday sales, and "wow!" is about all I can say so far, having streamed some 4k video from both youtube and the new Grand Tour from Amazon Prime. But of course the next step is to get into 4k gaming! Has anyone much exper...

Re: The Elder Scrolls

Elder Scrolls Online is free to play on Steam this weekend on the PC if anyone is interested. I'm going to be giving it a go, though I realise it's much more of a standard MMO grind then Skyrim or earlier. Word of warning though if you do try it - 70gb download then an installation afterwards, I've ...

Re: I Quite Like This Community

I like the idea that as a 37-yr old guy, I can be seen by a lot of people - work colleagues, friends, family, as being somewhat odd for being a video game afficionado... movies, tv shows, fashion... none of these things interest me, but games always have and always will. It's nice to be alongside pe...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

By The Bay from the Sim City 4 sound track. The entire of the Sim City 4 soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece, with incredible variations around this kind of pensive background jazz. So many of the tracks could be put forward but this track specifically sticks out to me, the use of the rolling toms...

Re: The "Introduce yourself" thread

Spend my whole time gaming when not at work pretty much... favourite games these days are GTA V / Just Cause 3 / Rocket League, but have spent years in the past playing WoW and Football Manager. GTAV? Two questions - does this include GTAO and are you on the PS4? Sadly not, I think I actually tweet...

Re: The "Introduce yourself" thread

Hello there, Been listening for maybe a year or so on and off, and just discovered the delights of Sound Of Play so thought i'd sign up to the forum. Been a gamer pretty much all my life, first memories of gaming were going round to a friend's house at primary school (I guess I was 8 or 9 years old ...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

Ive not caught up with all the Sound Of Plays yet, but I think parts of the new Doom soundtracks have been covered already.

Though not a nomination for a new song, I'd like to nominate Mick Gordon's Make Of... for this soundtrack. The whole thing is a masterpiece imo

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

For my first submission I would like to suggest "Rise Of The Harkonnen" by Frank Klepacki. I spent days playing Dune 2000 in the late 90's and this song was to me, the best of the soundtrack by some distance. I could listen to this track over and over again... in fact I used to do exactly ...
