Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I think the Luigi abuse is really going too far. Someone at Nintendo hates him with a distressing fervour that has only grown over the decades.

Vita on its way to me in the post :D Excited to have a full complement of current portable consoles in my life now. And maybe finally play a Persona game!

Re: Merchandise poll

I'm in the opposite situation to Ksubzero1000, and have ticked almost all of them!

I'm actually between re-useable coffee cups so that'd be my top pick.

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Excellent, thanks everyone. And yes, quite aware that a lot of people adore it; half the reason I'm getting one is because I'm jealous of being left out of the conversation  The other half is the rather poor showing we have on TrueTrophies for Vita guides and walkthroughs, hoping to correct tha...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Ok folks, question for you. Thinking of getting a second hand Vita. Now I've heard that the first generation is somehow preferable to the second, though I've yet to find a layman's explanation as to why. I also don't really know how to identify one from the other; CeX for example only differentiates...

Re: Books completed (2018)

I know it's already been mentioned but I have absolutely stormed through The Expanse novels, which I only gave a chance to because I didn't enjoy the series pilot and wanted to see what the fuss was about in literary form. I must have started Leviathan Wakes no more than two months ago, and now I'm ...

Re: Other podcast recommendations

Now that I work from home I have been smashing through quite a lot of podcasts. WTF with Marc Maron, which I'm sure has probably been mentioned before. Really insightful and human conversation with actors, comedians and writers. I finally got around to it when I realised he was the same guy from GLO...

I just got around to finish listening to this. Great show! Very nice track selection and contribution from kintaris. Looking forward to potential future Pokémon episodes, then! :)
Thanks! And yes, me too - a good excuse to fill up my Pokédex properly, should those episodes come to pass!

Re: How much have you spent on Steam?

$1300 over a decade. 233 games.

Fun fact: I've only had a remotely functional PC for maybe a year or two of that decade. I've only played 50 of those games for more than an hour, and only played 70 overall.

Pretty sure all of that will utterly pale in comparison to my Xbox spending.

Fun, fun facts.

I don't have a channel as yet but I am constantly on the verge of starting out. If I do it'll probably be PlayStation 4 stuff.

I'll give you all a follow in the meantime!

To your earlier point Alex - AC Origins did the same with their credits.

As someone who tends to push through until 3am to finish something I'm enjoying, I appreciate not having my eyeballs implode waiting for them to finish scrolling in case of post-credits shenanigans (see: every MGS game)

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

I reckon they'll get Cyberpunk. Not an exclusive game, but they'll get the reveal. Forza Horizon is almost a certainty. With gamesindustry.biz releasing a piece today about Playground's secret project and new studio, we will almost certainly see their project... which is probably Fable 4. Oh, and Av...

Re: E3 2018 - Conference times and general chat

I'm going to be up at all hours covering some of this stuff, so it's a good thing I get hyped for E3 despite it being such a leaky boat this year. Debatable whether I'll be able to stay awake for Bethesda but Sony I'll certainly be covering. I will try and nap in the day at some point! I fully antic...

Re: All things Achievements, Trophies, Meta

Totally with you on multiplayer achievements. If you have built a substantial multiplayer experience it will almost certainly have its own ranking and rewards systems, normally more nuanced and complex than achievements allow for - so there isn't any point in putting those ridiculous grindy achievem...

Re: Stardew Valley

I'm annoyed with myself for buying this on Xbox One. It's such an obvious handheld game. I've barely touched it since I bought it but I think if I had it on Switch I would have found more time for it.

Trying to stop double-dipping these days though.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I tend to dip into a Pokemon game every few years to keep up with what they’re doing with the design (work, in other words). But I don’t think I’ve ever completed one. Seeing quite a mixed response to this one. Some are ‘all Pokemon is good Pokemon’, others are annoyed it’s another ‘casual spinoff’...

What Chopper said!

Hopefully I haven't come across as despising this game. It's just... OK. I find it a lot harder to talk about mediocrity than I do outright catastrophe.
