Re: Other podcast recommendations

Ah, there was a post-credits twist to the episode in the end...
Spoiler: show
Sean's back, basically. It's really not as exciting as your average Marvel post-credits twist.

Re: Other podcast recommendations

Aww, Jon Denton's had to give up TCGS. That's a shame. Rock Reacts has gone insane on him to be fair so I guess he's out of time.

Hopefully Sean will be back at some point...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

My wife is working abroad right now but we both just dropped everything and called each other to discuss everything that just went down. I'm so glad to have invited this joy into my life just as it exploded commercially

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee confirmed and good gravy, the emotions going on in my household are intensely joyous. The trailer made me tear up, honestly. It's everything a 10 year old me ever wanted. In brief: It's a reimagined Pokémon Yellow in modern 3D graphics. It has multiplayer co-op via Joy...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

I almost don't feel like deep-diving my thoughts on it any further than what I said previously. Spending more effort analysing than I feel Cage did writing feels a bit odd, especially when the game is 90% narrative. It'd be like deep-diving an episode of Eastenders.

Re: New phones!

Our friend Ben Cartlidge of One Credit Classics is big on Chinese mobile tech. Cheap and powerful. He showed me one the other day with a week long battery life! A lot of people swear by Huawei and OnePlus. If you can handle a slightly different Android setup you are basically getting like-for-like ...

Alright, it was . I am a puzzle gaming fan and seeing blocks and lines flowing in a logically sound manner is kind of like giving my brain a bath.

Re: Detroit: Become Human

Is Clancy Brown in this game? I think that "someone" on YouTube might have spoiled that for me... :P If so, good for him. Great actor. Yes, and his performance is a highlight. No one else works as hard to squeeze something meaningful out of a fairly tepid script. Apart from maybe Lance Henriksen Bu...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I just finished Evil Genius on Netflix. Another intriguing insight into criminality in small-town America. It's not as intense as How to Make a Murderer (and this one is only four 45-minute episodes), but it's a careful study of characters involved in a horrific bank robbery gone wrong. Worth a go a...

Re: WordPress / Blogging sites?

I did, thanks! I actually made it shortly after posting this thread, then didn't update it for about a year, but picked it up recently and have posted a few things now. It's here: https://gamesihaveplayed.wordpress.com I know my writing isn't the best, try as I might, I'm not a good reviewer! But I...

Re: Other podcast recommendations

I have been obsessed with Reply All for the last couple of weeks. The first time I've binged all the way through the back catalogue since... Sound of Play! For those that don't know, each episode basically deep dives into a very specific corner of internet culture or incident and just blows it wide ...

Re: E3 2018 - Conference times and general chat

I made a joke about Crackdown 3 disappearing down a hole so it could be reworked as a Battle Royale game, so I'll get a small chunk of money from some friends if that turns out to be true. I'm looking forward to seeing what Ghosts of Tsushima actually is, what The Last of Us Part II actually is and ...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

One positive I will say is that I quite enjoy some of the soundtrack themes. I like the minimalist piano touches. I'm now starting to explore some of the alternative pathways. It's fairly cool to see entire scenes open up because of a different choice made but the ultimate consequences of most of th...

Re: All things Achievements, Trophies, Meta

The silly competitions and challenges on TrueAchievements are the main reason finally got around to subscribing for the infinite rescans. That Winter Olympics one was nuts, heh. Re: Special No.2: PlayStation

The arrival of Sony's PlayStation in my life will be forever seared into my memory - Christmas Day in Dubai, in a time before the state had been properly gentrified by billionaires. My family and I had been flown out by the bank my Dad worked for, and we hadn't seen him for several months. Christmas...

Re: All things Achievements, Trophies, Meta

Well I work for achievement and trophy hunting sites so I'm a little biased. For me it creates a really fun niche community. We're writing guides and walkthroughs and debating the most efficient ways to get to a trophy, much like one might debate a speed-run. We're meeting up in huge groups to try a...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

I managed to finish it off after storing my saves and reinstalling everything. There is a very simple way to summarize this. If you have problems with Cage's games you'll find the same ones here. If you have overlooked them in the past and found something to enjoy, same again here. At the end of th...
