Re: All things Super Smash Bros.

I'd give it a go next time for sure. Barely understand what I'm doing in Smash but not sure that matters!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Completed Gunman Clive and fancied some online fun. But MK8 was down so after lots of talk of it on here, I got out Smash again. And I think it clicked. Felt like I vaguely knew what I was doing, kicked Dr Mario's butt and laughed loads at the lip service craziness going on in the background. Will d...

Re: RE: Re: Games completed 2016

Jan 17th - The Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the past Feb 2nd - Gunman Clive Wanted a nice short game to break up the hours I'm putting into Xenoblade Chronicles X and this did nicely. Very varied and fun game that never outstayed its welcome. Was surprised at how much depth there was in a game where y...

Re: Too Late For Super Smash Bros. for Wii U?

Played it online a few times. Only had lag once but have heard its a bit hit and miss.

But then I've heard that about Splatoon and that's only dropped out on me once in about a year.

Re: Videogame Deals

Oh no! Nearly bought that myself today but have about 6 unplayed 2D platformers on Wii U already which I MUST play first. Did pick up Affordable Space Adventures on the Nintendo eStore though. 30% off for a few days so £11.80 at the moment. Had my eye on this one for a while. Just ideally need two m...

Re: Nintendo NX

I wondered that. Certainly could see more DLC for it in time. Mario Kart could be the same thing for me. Don't need a new one, just do a Battle mode DLC online pack and give me several new tracks every year. Another factor why I don't think NX will get an entirely new Smash. Sakurai. The guy seemed ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Having a break from XC X. Got my Skell after 30 hours but need to not burn out on it. Played some Gunman Clive on Wii U. Fun little game. Very charming art style and amazingly varied and tactical given you can only jump and shoot horizontally. Also played Star Wars Battlefront on my mates PS4 for 2 ...

Re: Nintendo NX

That IGN Nintendo Voice Chat podcast is well worth a listen. Fascinating debate I thought. I can see why making a Gold edition of the game a launch title makes perfect sense: - Lapsed Nintendo fans can play the definitive version. And given the shrinking fan base Nintendo seemingly have, its seeming...

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X

Just got a Skell 30 hours in. Really changes the game, in a good way. Suddenly I'm ripping across the landscape and scaring away enemies. One of the best pay offs for all the effort I've seen in a game.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Babysat for a friend tonight and had a few hours to kill, so booted up his copy of Metroid Other M. What a curious game. A C&R podcast on it would be a classic I reckon. Heard lots about the story ruining Samus' back story and making her the love interest of some grumpy old war general. Hard to ...

Re: SoP submissions *please read first post*

Has Her Story been out long enough that we can play 'The wind and the rain' yet? iFrTvNsGPXc If not, could close the show with it and warn of spoilers? I loved Her Story. Sam Barlow's previous game Silent Hill: Shattered Memories was one of the best Wii games I played and I was also a big fan of Bik...

Re: Our next Zelda podcast recording (4.2.16): The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

I've always been curious about A Link to the Past since I started playing the 3D Zelda games about a decade ago, so I picked it up on Virtual Console last summer to make up for Zelda Wii U's delay. However I only started playing it when I saw Cane & Rinse were covering the series in the new volu...

Re: RE: Re: Games completed 2016

I've been playing it a bit too, and I found myself questioning, do we have it easier, or do we just have less time? Days were I'd have been happy to play this over the course of an entire year, maybe even longer. When I remember back to being a kid I'd get stuck on games for years, returning to the...

Re: Games completed 2016

Jan 17th - The Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the past Will save my full thoughts for the upcoming podcast thread, but enjoyed this a lot. Never owned a SNES or played this before. Sets a very high bar for the series and I can see why so many people love this title so much. It gets so much right for a g...

No to both I'm afraid. GC games run on a Wii but not Wii U.

Last night I found myself onboard an experimental airship piloted by an emaciated torso. Still surprising me after a year.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X

Clicked for me massively this week. Those early hours I put into laying down probes, figuring out which mechanics to put time into and investing in arms manufacturers paid off big time. Just had a run of about 4 Affinity Missions and a couple of Story chapters where the game just flowed beautifully....

Re: Nintendo NX

I think I read that the Wii U has shifted 3 million units in Japan now. The top ten selling games between Nov-Jan were all Nintendo ones I believe. But those great sales have taken a long while to come about.

Splatoon has done superbly well there. Bodes well for a sequel.

Re: RE: Re: Nintendo NX

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this is the shortest gap ever between Nintendo machines and we see the NX this year. As you say the GameCube is counted by many as a failure, but that still sold 22m units. The Wii U has barely half that figure at 11m - 12m depending on the source and stands...
