I think I read that the Wii U has shifted 3 million units in Japan now. The top ten selling games between Nov-Jan were all Nintendo ones I believe. But those great sales have taken a long while to come about.

As you say the GameCube is counted by many as a failure, but that still sold 22m units. The Wii U has barely half that figure at 11m - 12m depending on the source and stands...
