Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat
I feel the same as Stanshall. I think it's worth pointing out that even if people were only asking for tarted up visuals and audio all those years ago (I was) it seems like a lot of fans are really excited for this remake and we're probably the minority on this one. Oh dear lord, there is going to b...

Re: E3 2019 - Conference times and general chat
Anyone else think that the FF7 character designs lose every single ounce of charm and instead actually look really silly when they’re rendered in the quasi realistic style of the remake? It doesn't quite work for me either but I'm also not sure that they could have done it any differently. I really...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
It is probably a bit unfair to compare it to those games though as it did come out in 1998 so after FF7

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
After years of seeing it appear on lists of "The Best JRPG Games EVAAA" and seeing many people rave about it online, I finally decided to give Suikoden 2 a go. I'm about 25 hours in and I'm completely in love with it. I don't really want to give too much away (yeah I know it's like 20 yea...

Re: Our Patreon
I can't comment on the twitter stuff as I'm not on there so I'll just say that 'SJW' is routinely used to belittle people who speak out against racism, homophobia, sexism etc - it really isn't a reasonable or fair way to critique the podcast or the people on it.

Re: Association Football (aka 'Soccer' / "The Beautiful Game")
I can't call it, I reckon it's gonna be a good game though and I'd be happy for either of them to win.
It's my Spurs mate's birthday and we're all going to the pub to watch it, there will be one Liverpool and several Arsenal fans along with us... it's going to be interesting.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I actually just bought the first to games for the PS3. Looking forward to playing them soon. Did you play the first game or did you just skip to the sequel? I've heard there's not too much disconnect in doing so. Yeah they're stand-alone stories but there are a few returning characters, references ...

Re: Association Football (aka 'Soccer' / "The Beautiful Game")
Well, that didn't work out too well haha
What a terrible performance from Arsenal and an overall rubbish game to watch. It felt like I was watching a friendly, not a cup final.

Re: Games Completed 2019
Finished Resi 7 yesterday. I'd still call it a great game overall but it transitioned from genuinely good horror to enjoyably bad/cheesy horror by the end. It's kind of a shame as I thought it was on track to being the greatest horror game I've ever played, alongside SH2, I still enjoyed it all so o...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I've almost finished Resident Evil 7 and I've really enjoyed it so far. Great mix of atmosphere and jump scares. The beginning was pretty terrifying, I loved how Jack would keep popping back up and attacking you, absolutely relentless and seemingly invincible, it gave a constant feeling of dread and...

Re: 370: Ape Escape
This is a game where you travel through time catching monkeys who have silly flashing lights on their heads, using a big net, a slingshot, an RC Car, a hula hoop & a stun rod that looks a bit like a knockoff toy light sabre - nuff said, it's amazing.

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Quite a long thread and I'm new here so sorry if I suggest things that have been mentioned a million times. I'd really like to hear you guys discuss the original Red Faction on PS2. I think this game gets a bit overlooked, it had an interesting story that felt really different from most console shoo...

Re: Our next Final Fantasy podcast recording (13.4.19) - 365: Final Fantasy IX
The first time I ever played Final Fantasy IX was as a kid at a friends house, something about the way it looked instantly caught me but I found the fighting puzzling. I had previously thought that turn-based combat and random encounters were unique to Pokemon Red/Blue and with that game it made per...
