Re: E3 2015 - Conference times, news and hype (!)
Sure with the success of amiibo that'll feature strongly too. Do very little for me but thats partly as you sense Nintendo haven't figured out what to do with them yet. Amiibo tap is NOT the answer. A Pokemon game using them seems a no brainer. Or allowing them to cross over into the LEGO Dimensions...

Re: E3 2015 - Conference times, news and hype (!)
As I only own a Wii U, I'm desperately hoping that - much like E3 2014 showed what was coming for the next 12 months - this E3 does the same. Because if its just some footage of things we already know about, then it confirms the console to be imminently dead in the water. Think they'll give it at le...

Re: SoP submissions *please read first post*
Love the podcast. Discovered it late and am working my way through it now (backwards), so apologies if any of these suggestions have already been covered. Also, heartily second the Deus Ex Human Revolution recommendation. That opening title sequence music captivated me more than the game ever did in...

Re: Your gaming revelations and confessions
When I completed Tomb Raider on Xbox360 I did so with 100% completion, something I very rarely do, and was so sad to have nothing left to do on the island that I spent an hour or so just wandering around looking at the locations and saying goodbye to any deer I hadn't slaughtered. I found MGS to be ...

Re: Nintendo Wii U
The new DLC for MK8 is good eh? Some of the tracks look gorgeous. Not sure processing power or heightened specs would do to help a Nintendo title look any better than they now do, so guess any future innovations they make will have to be via gameplay or control input. Almost feels to me like in theo...

Re: Nintendo Wii U
Thanks all. Quite enjoyed the Pikmin 3 demo, but have never seen it for sale for under £50 anywhere so that's stopped me from getting it. And plan to get Tropical Freeze one day too, but only recently replayed DKCR on Wii so thought I'd save it for the right time! Have Splatoon on preorder (which is...

Re: Nintendo Wii U
Adored Wind Waker. The promotion Nintendo had where you got a free game when you bought Mario Kart 8 convinced me to buy a Wii U. Feel if they bought that promotion back with Splatoon, they'd probably shift a load more. The Wii U is the only machine I now own that's not retro, but I'm struggling to ...

Re: Speedball and Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe/Evolution/HD
Only played the original after the sequel so it felt slow and plodding in comparison to its slicker sequel. Spent many hours being beaten convincingly on the Amiga version at a 'friends' house, who took great delight in not explaining what the hell was going on. Later bought it on the Sega Master Sy...

Re: Games Completed 2015
My thoughts exactly. Played it myself for the first time a few months back. When you're free running across those roof tops and the master of your own destiny, it's some of the best gaming I've enjoyed in years. Otherwise, it was really annoying.Scrustle wrote:Mirrors Edge

Re: Our next Silent Hill podcast recording: Shattered Memori
Emailed this to the guys, but as it was a while ago I thought I'd post it here too: ___________________________ I'd stop short of saying SH:SM is an essential play, but its certainly an intriguing one with a fair amount of originality. I immensely enjoyed how it plays with your mind. The fact its ki...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Played ICO on PS2 after listening to the C&R podcast about it. Still pretty magical, if a bit twitchy to control. Forgotten that old games often have huge gaps between saves too! Really think the sound design is what makes it so timeless. Also completed The Fall on Wii U which was fun. Quite sho...

Thanks guys. How weird, I listen to the podcast via an Android app called Podcast Addict and never noticed those before. Will be sure to rectify that once I get through these Half-Life 2 episodes...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Had a quick scan of the suggestions and many have cropped up. Ones I'd love to hear your thoughts on though are: Metroid Prime Trilogy (guess there's a bigger series in that though from the comments!) Sin & Punishment 2 The WipEout games Time crisis Operation Rainfall trilogy (Pandoras Tower, Xe...
