Three classic Cave shmups also being ported (as announced on the Japanese stream).
Mushihimesama available NOW.
Espgaluda 2 in the summer (only previously released in the arcade and on 360, I think).
Dodonpachi Resurrection in the winter.
These are megatons for shmup fans.

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread
We tired in the second half but very pleased with a professional, calm win. They played with an awareness of the occasion but without the usual jitters I associate with England. Pickford was reassuringly stable, as well.

Re: E3 2021 - Schedule and discussion thread
I always find the in-between stuff pretty crap. It's all about Nintendo for me, and hopefully MS/Bethesda will give me a few reasons to buy an Xbox.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I've been playing Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and enjoying it. I don't really know or like the series besides twenty minutes here and there but I was swayed by the reviews and I fancied a new game. It's certainly a technical showcase. The gameplay feels the same as ever but it is very tight and sna...

Second the coconut, love that stuff. I also quite like a nice cold glass of almond milk. Looks a bit grey but pleasant flavour. Barely have any milk these days otherwise.

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread
Predictions on the Wales game? I'm going 2-1 to Wales. With the second goal coming from a penalty. I think it totally depends on how up for it Bale is and he does tend to raise his game to produce a bit of magic for Wales. I'm not being funny but he's also hopefully more match sharp and fit after a...

Re: Self-imposed rules on buying games?
My rule is now only buy top tier stuff that really appeals to me. I've spent/wasted/gambled a lot of time and money over the past gen on games that were almost certainly never going to appeal to me. Outside of my preferred genres/series, my enjoyment rate is probably 5-10%. That's an awful waste of ...

UbiSoft - Assassin's Creed Three Kingdoms, to tap into the Chinese market. - 0 Microsoft - Forza Horizon 5 set in Japan, because this must finally happen one generation. - 0.5 Square Enix - FFXVI trailer. - 1 Nintendo - Ocarina, WW and TP to receive bare bones ports. I'm reading Berserk again after Miura's passing and it's absolutely extraordinary. The greatest manga art ever produced, I reckon. The Golden Age arc is still one of the most powerful things I've ever seen.

Re: E3 2021 - Schedule and discussion thread
I'm most looking forward to some Sony/PS5 news tbh so hoping that they put on some separate event over the summer. Nothing I'm currently looking forward to on any system besides FF7R Intergrade in a week or so. Lot of murmurs around a new Switch but also lots of tempering that it's far from a 'Pro' ...

Re: Returnal
I was running back through because it's almost essential to get enough integrity and upgrades from the shop. My main issue with the game was the length of each run albeit you also know after Biome 1 whether you're going to have a good enough foundation to make it through. Quite a lot of abandoned ru...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
This past few weeks, I have been mostly playing: Dodonpachi Daioujou X It's an exclusive mode on the Xbox 360 port. It's kind of an amped up version with more bullets but it's also easier to chain so you build a shitload of meter and consequently get loads of hypers dropping down the screen. When yo...

Re: Super Bomberman R Online (F2P battle royale)
One of my fondest memories on the Switch is playing this at a reunion trip in China just after it had come out. It was about forty degrees in the day so we couldn't go anywhere, stayed in my hotel room drinking warm piss and playing this with four Joycons hunched over the Switch. Absolutely brillian...

Flood Kid Gloves Leander Wizball Apidya Wizball is on there for certain. The others I'm not certain about, but I will add them. Apidya I played a lot and managed to complete legitimately back at the time. The rest I played but didn't finish. Cheers. I never finished any without the pirate copy chea...

Amiga Classics (feel free not to to add them to the list if they're non-starters, but I would take the points if awarded):
Flood
Kid Gloves
Leander
Wizball
Apidya
How many do I get out of five?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Cleared the flip phone port of the CAVE classic shmup, Dodonpachi Daioujou, released last week on the Japanese eShop. It's very cute and plays well considering what it is. My second favourite Switch release of the year behind Monster Hunter Rise. It's very accessible and fun but builds to a decent c...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I think the Satisfye is 10/10 for comfort but 7/10 for buttons, sticks and triggers because of the limitations of the Joycons. The Hori Split Pad Pro is 8/10 for comfort because the grips aren't quite as deep for my fat hands but an easy 10/10 for buttons, sticks and triggers. Satisfye is excellent,...
